Genetic ascension is probably the best right out of the gate since awespec's writing is constantly improving, and GA is his latest novel. Don't get me wrong though, dimensional descent is my all time fav novel and the latest chapter's (couple hundereds) quality is at least on par, if not better than GA's, it simply takes a while to ramp up to that quality since DD's way older than GA
Sorry, I didn't realize how common these types of comments are when writing this. And I agree that her interactions with sylas generaly make sense for their age gap, however after reading a bit further into this story (at chapter 176 rn) I do have some things I wish to say, and while obviously it's your book, your choice (and you're an amazing author btw), I would appreciate it if you did read them and responded with your own thoughts surrounding these matters. So anyway, (as previously stated) I don't think the interactions between Sylas and his lil sister are the problem at all. At least for me personally, the main issues are 1: the descriptors used for her- Things like her night gown almost reaching the floor due to it being too big for her, or her being described as tiny, etc'. I checked, and a 13 yo girl's average height is only 3 centimeters behind that of a full grown woman. And 2: her general under-maturity in things not related to Sylas. And while I do agree that some people here over-exagerate the general maturity of 13 yo's, I do think you are underestimating them a bit. Things like her always wearing pink and watching disney princess movies are a bit much for her age. While there aren't any real studies about this, from my personal experiences (which obviously vary quite a bit from person to person, thus making this point much weaker and less objective than my first), girls grow out of this phase around the 7-10 yo age range. While I don't think any one of these things is a problem on its own, combined they could create quite the cognitive dissonance for the reader due to them trying to fit so many descriptors and actions that are generally seen as those of 8 or 9 yo girls onto a 13 yo one in their minds. All in all, I feel like this problem could be quite easily fixed in one of many ways you can decide upon, ranging from simply retconing her age all the way to her actually being a hidden psycopath or something, lol. And while obviously this example is way too extreme, I trust your skills as an author to come up with a good way to fix this problem (because yes, even if you don't see it as one, this is a problem simply becuase the readers said so. It is the job of a good author to balance the audience's wishes with his own as he sees fit, and if something so easily fixed causes such a strong dissoanance within so many readers, I don't see a reason why not to fix it). But at the end of the day, I'm not an author, and this is not my book, so I'd like to know your thoughts on this and what you plan on doing because I spent wayyy too long writing this on mobile while ensuring there are as few spelling mistakes as possible lol
no.
bruh why are you making her out to be some preschool toddler or smth. she is in 9th grade, most girls are nearly at their max height at this point, and a lot of them are even putting make-up on at this point. she's not a toddler that only watches disney princesses and has pink pajamas that drag on the floor beneath her. if you wanted her to be that kind of character, at least make her be at an age where that behaviour is believable
wait, so is that the reason mithas told him it might be the last time he recieves a gift from that nine tailed fox?
