You forgot something, he is a child, relatively weak and hunts alone. So he spends the majority of his time searching for his prey. I am sure that groups of adults can easily have way more carcass than him because they surely have more experience than him ( group strategies, methods to fight specific beasts, etc.) and equipment (armor, weapons, etc.).Not to mention that they are surely way more powerful than him. I can continue like that for a long time like these beasts are the weakest and less profitable. Just imagine the profit from stronger beasts.
