This could be easily exploited by choosing to start as an “embryo” or something that draws in surrounding energy for a few centuries and then hatches with a much higher level of power. And to avoid the problem of having to sit there for centuries going mad it could be specified to lie dormant and sleep until it’s ready to hatch
