Character dynamics are richly brought out, and their interactions with each other read very realistic and relatable. Each set of relationships plays out genuinely, pulling readers into the emotional landscapes. For me, this book is way above the original novel. Not only has it managed to deepen some of the major themes, but it does so in much more compelling and subtle ways. If you like your characters well-fleshed, with plenty of depth on the cultural side without the clichéd themes rammed down your throat, then this book is certainly worthy of your time.
