Bloodlust: Goddess of Vampires

Elysia Areklides is a lethal flower, a key pawn in the eternal war between vampire clans and the hunters that stalk them. As the daughter of Ares and Mnemosyne, she possesses abilities not granted to other vampires, and is a warrior for her clan. She finds herself intrigued by Evan, a rogue hunter and hater of vampires, who is dependent on her to aid her in finding his mother's killer. Then there is Alec, Elysia’s surly bodyguard, who watches her every move. After a confrontation with hunters at the Awakening ceremony ends in fire and blood, Elysia finds herself on the run. With the aid of Evan and Alec, she is determined to gain her family’s power back, get revenge, and end this curse upon her race once and for all. Elysia is at the center of a millennia long war between gods and ancient heroes, the living and the dead. Raised to be leader of her clan, will she be able to forge a path ahead of her, or will she let herself be consumed by the flames? * * * The blade slid through muscle and bone easily, blood flowed freely to the Earth. Spurts gushed and trickled down the pallid corpse, as the gurgles and sputters of final breath echoed off of the cavernous walls. The thick crimson liquid ran into the carved grooves of the stone altar. The altar began to glow and the room began to tremble, dust and debris fell from the ceiling of the temple ruins, the Doric columns swayed with the Earth as if they cheered and hailed the sacrifice only to slowly come to a halt and a silence that pursued the remnant ritual. A smile quirked the edges of Rhea’s lips as she brought the blade to her lips, she ran her tongue along the length of the blade. She tasted the unharnessed power simmering within her victim. She gripped the elder god by his blonde curls and yanked his head back to stare into his eyes. Lifeless, they now glowed, flecks of fire danced beneath the surface. “Zeus, how the mighty has fallen. My son.”

Aether

I remember the darkness. I remember dying. 'Beep…Beep…Beep.' I heard in the distance, echoing throughout the cavernous purgatory I was standing in. My chest hurt; my ribcage ached. I felt dissociated from my body, my head was foggy. “We’re losing her! You have to upload now.” A voice shouted, it echoed in my head and I covered my ears to shut out the sharp noise. I floated, listening to the steady sound in the background. The beeping was getting more erratic, it was an alarm siren blaring in my head. “Please don’t go, don’t leave me!” A little girl cried. My heart wrenched, I screamed out in frustration, running blindly around through the darkness. “Emily?” I shouted --------------------------------------------------------------- Fayre has been struggling since her parents died to parent her younger sister, Emily. Demons of My Heart

I remember what it was like to live in a cage. From the days when I was little, I remember how it felt to be sold, used, beaten, and persecuted. I remember then as the last vestiges of my humanity fled from me and created the monster that they so feared. The Angels? God? They had abandoned me. An empty cry to a mother never to be answered. Humanity likes to cage that which it fears. To tame forces of nature, to control that which is beyond their understanding. They had tried to capture me again, and they had failed. I remember the day they killed me. I remember the day they made me…'We of the Succubi show no weakness.' -------------------------------------------------------------- Since the day Kali lost her sight, she has been cold. She has spent eons in the darkness, reliving the horrors of her past. As a succubus demon, and shackled with only the sight of the movement of air, and how objects affect it, she is limited and blessed in her senses. Calculated and ruthless, she has dedicated her life to the sword, making her blade an extension of her soul. She has passed the centuries offering her services to the highest bidder, seeking answers about her powers and her people. Today, she hunts at night alone -- accepting contracts on high level demons escaping from the ever thinning veil between dimensions. Hiding in plain sight, she has spent her existence seeking answers in her research . Who is she? What are these powers she has memories of but cannot manifest? Why are the demons coming after her? She has kept herself alive for centuries, as a girl who has never known warmth or love, she certainly doesn't need this stranger, Rhys, who ignites a passion unlike she has ever known.
