You're right, If I wrote this now, I would definitely take my time with it. Even the part where Shinji ran away, i would have expanded more. Unfortunately, what is done is done. Also, it's not like it's a big problem. At most this would have delayed the crush by 5 chapters. So it's not really that big of a loss.
