"I'll come with you." Amy said with resolve I didn't expect from her. I looked at her, wondering how to turn her down without hurting her feelings. "Please?" as if reading my mind, she added. "I… I just…" she said with a soft quavering voice, her eyes were teary at this point. "I just don't want to lose my only friend…" She started sobbing, using both hands, to cover her face. I felt a pang of guilt at her words, even though I knew I wasn't in the wrong, really. But she had seen what it's like out there, and understands the dangers herself. I'd be lying to her if I said I wouldn't be in danger, but I can't change my decision. I didn't know how to comfort her, memories of my previous life proved completely useless in this situation. I just hugged her as she sobbed, until she calmed down a bit.

The woman immediately erected an omnidirectional barrier, and it was able to resist the coiling force of [Enkidu], but she noticed that the shield wouldn't last long. She started chanting a spell that resonated in the air and seemed to be bringing the temperature of the entire space down. At this point, Vahn had already overused his energy with the use of the vermillion sparrow transformation and [Enkidu], but he refused to go down before he could teach the contemptuous woman a lesson. Vahn didn't care if people looked down on him, but he wouldn't allow himself to be repressed to such an extent by someone that he didn't know.

As he started falling toward the ground, he pulled out his bow and without hesitation used 10,000 OP to buy a [Yi] arrow which he fired at the currently surprised woman. Though she was going to swat away the arrow at first, the woman's expression changed once again as she tried to initiate her teleportation and evade. Unfortunately, it was like space was locked around her and she had to meet the deadly arrowhead on using her magical energy.

After a few seconds, Anubis's lowered her head and refused to make eye contact with Vahn as she explained in a frantic manner, "I don't know what came over me! Please ignore what I just said, but I really meant it!" As she finished her words, Anubis once again paused after hearing what she just said. She had no idea what was going on, and all of the thoughts she buried in her heart seemed to be pouring out. Her ears began to twitch while her tail looked like it was trying to free itself from her body. She was incredibly embarrassed by what had just happened, not once, but twice.

Vahn disliked the idea of binding or sealing away something, but it didn't prevent him from having some curiosity. If it came to a point where he needed to use the function but was unable to do so, it could cost him his life or the lives of others he cared about. After a long period of hesitation, he sent a mental command and waited for a minute or so with an uneasy feeling building up in his heart. After a brief delay, a knock was heard at the door before Anubis entered in with a curious expression on her face. When her eyes came into contact with the resplendent golden chain in Vahn's hand, she couldn't help but ask, "Master, what is that beautiful chain?"

As much as I dislike the idea of Lili in the harem, Tsubaki is a pretty good wingwoman.
Looking at the two girls that seemed to be waiting for her response, she gave a big cheeky grin and said, "Who knows~? If you two don't work hard, maybe I'll get to him before you do!" Tsubaki started laughing again as she excused herself from the room. Naaza and Lili stayed behind in silence for a while before Lili looked to Naaza and said, "I think we have even more competition now..." Naaza nodded her head slowly at the words and the two talked for a bit about the future before going about their separate ways. Lili went to the study to read, while Naaza went into her workshop and started preparing new ingredients.
