This review is after climbing to the most recent updated chapters around 260+. I'm loving a lot of the ideas presented in this novel. I started reading this novel because it was expressed that the things in the game change how you are in the real world. Now after reading 260+ chapters nothing, nothing has changed with him or others playing in the real world. I started reading this because of this premise and it seems like I have been let down because almost every chapter they talk about the upcoming apocalypse and people using their powers out of game, but they always talk about it in the future tense. Like honestly I don't know how much longer I can continue reading without something of note changing because otherwise this is just another regression vrmmo and I have read too many already. Author If you read this could you shed some light on this issue?
Do you just quit every novel you ever write?
Did the author give up on this novel? This is so much better than Villian Retirement and has just gotten so juicy with the pay offs of all the MC's hardships
If thats the case then where is the story, the meat and focal point of the novel. Is it the ordeals , the oracles or the mystery behind them or is it something else. Because almost 400 chapters later i have no idea what is the supposed to be the main plot but know a good amount about gladiators and jungle people
Look I've liked the style of story so far at my current read but dear god, why are you writing 120 chapters for just the 2nd ordeal alone. What is wrong with you. That is literally almost 6 month of him being on a island repeating the same info dump dialogue over and over again for what? You have literally slowed the pace down so much that i think we are almost 1:1 with the stories time pace with reality's think i might grow older than the the characters. For those wondering we are at around 370 for this novel and that is just 100 chapters short of the full length of Second Coming of Gluttony with its full ending. You don't need as many chapters you are writing or you just like fluff.
my favorite chinese cultural moment is when the main character straight up says the ccp never lies.....yes the rich culture
for the best fantasy webnovel try Lord of the Mysteries, or for another vrmmo try Rise of the Undead legion. Lord of the Mysteries is one of the few Chinese novel that doesn't have any hint of foreign or ***ist discrimination and Rise of the Undead is a really enjoyable read
OK for those wanting to read a decent fantasy novel its here....but.......there are things you need to know. The author is Chinese and there will be lots of propaganda and nationalism in this novel. Things like the author outright saying that the ccp "never tells lies" and a lot and i mean a **** ton of blaming actions on people solely being capitalists. Another thing that ive noticed from the overseas novels is that they treat women like a underclass. If this was a novel about medieval times or even early 1900s id say its appropriate but its not. So its very interesting and cool concept riddles with Chinese nationalism and ***ism. Way to blow it. If anyone has a novel that is similar to this , but that isn't written by some nationalistic virgin comment below.
Everything is great up until i caught up to chapter 472, I guess the author isnt releasing unprivileged chapters anymore. Cant buy any chapter after july 20th. Imagine paying for the opportunity to buy something. Really disinterested in paying for more chapters now.
