very very very long rant about the (personal opinion) downward progression of the story. also not proof read and it's all text to speech Honestly, this is the decision that broke the book for me. I can no longer read it.I'm not gonna find enjoyment in it. The author's shown that he's more than willing to just spit in the reader's faces and waste 500 chapters of character, development and money. For no reason other than you wanted to spice things up a little bit. And instead, he just ruined 500 chapters worth of progression with interesting story. Just to give us 200 chapters of a very boring planet. Honestly like I haven't really been that interested in Reading since the old planet got destroyed and now to make it even worse. One of the few, I guess, interesting bits of the system. Aspect of this novel is thrown out the window. Because the author realized he made the characters a bit too strong and there wasn't that much suspense in a lot of the fight scenes. Or in any difficult situations, because the two main characters could just get away with everyone. And honestly, it was interesting when that was the case, because the author was still writing it in a way that it made it seem like it was still gonna be a problem for the main characters, even though they had that ability to instantly teleport away. And now I feel like there's just no point on continuing to read. Since the author has shown that he is willing to nerf. The main characters for no reason. Like honestly, this whole system debuff was so out of left field that it feels like the author just wants to spit in our faces and be like ha. I think I've given the characters too strong of an ability too early. So I'm gonna get rid of it now. To add some artificial difficulty to the characters, and it's going to be for such a contrived reason that it's not even funny, because guess what I'm going to say that the characters are stronger now. So they're entering the second phase of the system. Which guess what instead of helping them more so that they can get even stronger quicker to do what the system wants them to do. I'm going to make it harder. Cause it's so weird. It's like the whole point of this system is to reconnect the two universes, and it feels like everything the system is trying to do is the exact opposite. all right, maybe not everything. But you know, in the grand scheme of things, the really important decisions involving the system and our main characters have largely been nerfs or hot air. And they don't really help the main characters that much like so far. Besides the teleportation upgrade, almost every upgrade they've gotten has been a very Minor boost to their cultivation. Speed a very minus boost to their strength. And i'm too lazy to go back and retype it, but by minus, I mean a small boost, like in the single percentages, not even ten percent. And getting the side occupation upgrades, I have been very disappointing because they're not immediately useful at all, not even the second phase is that useful instead, and this is gonna be on a weird tangent, Rean got access to the spiritual circuits about 3 to 400 chapters ago. I think, and it has had such a moment, minimal impact on the story. It's not even funny like we're about 700 chapters in now, and if you look back at all the upgrades, the systems given to the main characters. It's almost like they haven't gotten any honestly speaking. Because besides the increased range for them to communicate with their soul tether, or whatever it was called. Every other upgrade has been either in consequential. In the long run, after multiple hundreds of chapters of it being a thing, or it got nerfed by the author because he realized it was too strong of an ability. and the only reason why I'm so upset about what's happened is because it is such a good novel. It was a really interesting novel. I was honestly even willing to look past the fact that the author for no reason. Besides the fact that he wanted a gotcha m
Honestly, I gotta say that this entire planet sequences ben a bit of a mixed bag for me. I feel the author could have done with A better way to wipe the slate clean. If that's what he wanted to do, but i'm also not hating the planet, but at the same time, I think it's a bit too convenient for this guy to have an ultra long range tracking skill that can be used on the twins. If he doesn't end up losing the scent before they get to the next city, I really don't think i'm gonna be able to continue reading the novel just because this planet has already been such a let down honestly. Like, if the author wanted to wipe the slate clean, I would have expected a bit more of a interesting or exciting story to take its place. Because that's honestly what he did. He completely wiped out all the world building. That was previously done, even if he made it so that they're not dead. I doubt we'll ever see anyone from that planet again. And even if we do, it won't be for probably quite a few hundreds of chapters from now. Like I'm not hating the story. I'm still enjoying it, but it really was such a letdown. For all of the side stories and all the characters to just be kill it off, and our main cast did not even really care that much. Because I don't care how focused they are on their goal.Everyone on the planet died, and they've shown hardly any remorse since it happened
The only other problem I have with this novel and I only know remembered it after I wrote the review. Was there every system Quest has the penalty of death attached to it if they fail. Which kind of makes the entire story irrelevant, whenever a quest shows up. because you know that it's going to be completed.Because the author doesn't have the guts to kill off both of the main characters.
I don't hate the little girl, but I don't really like her either. I don't kno, her character Just doesn't feel I guess natural to me. At least the way it's written. Every interaction she's had with the main characters for the most part feels kind of forced. And it'll probably get better now that they're older and will continue to get older, so she'll have more of a personality instead of just being a child. But I honestly feel like the only reason she's going is because the author sees how much interaction she gets from everyone and wants to keep the interactions up
I hope that the names aren't always gonna be used for the combat. And if they are, I really hope that they get shorter, because even if it's not a big deal because it really isn't, i'm gonna skip the names. its just so cringy.
A big problem I'm having right now, with the story is that the author's writing between the characters like they've been through lots of conflict together multiple times when it's only been one evening of battle that they've had, yet they're talking about alec, like they've seen him surpass. His limits that were hard set time and time again, instead of someone that they've just really started paying attention to, especially power wise, because they'll just got their power.
It'll probably be resolved soon, but I was under the impression that each level up gave him plus 1 to all its base stats plus 2 free allocations.
I'm gonna leave a 3 start review. I'll come back and change it later. But right now, I'm at about a 100 chapters in. And I'm very conflicted on how I feel about this novel, because it's an interesting premise. It's an interesting power system. But at the same time, I feel like the author doesn't know how to implement the power system correctly. Because every fight, the main character's in makes it feel like he's a weak bastard who always ends up in the hospital, even if he's victorious. But the only time that's not the case is when it's against other humans or a creature, an entire life power level below him, and it doesn't matter the reason that it's like, oh you know, he's strong. Who's going after stronger enemies when every single fight against one of the stronger enemies puts the main character in the hospital? For the most part, it makes it Not feel like a worthwhile read. So I'm gonna stick with the story because I am enjoying it. But for now, I'm leaving the 3 star review, I'll come back and change it once I've caught up with the current chapters. But yeah, my current thoughts are that almost every fight between monsters feels very Samy, and when it is a bit of an exception. Our character's strength isn't properly shown because we have no real gauge.Based on someone has power level and how strongly they're supposed to be
I don't think i've ever had four paragraphs.Ruin everythingA story's built up for seventy chapters before. But boy did the author manage to do that here? Like sure we know Adam can be semi impulsive. Maybe emotional is the better term when it comes to certain things, but it's shown that he's been mostly calm and collected. Besides, when he's fighting or something sure, he can get irritated, but he's just human. him jumping on the chick from the tests has completely ruined anything. Surrounding Adam's personality that the authors built up. After all, she had nothing to do with what happened to him. And we know it was a very standard government procedure, and that just at the very end, when the scientists decided to essentially throw him out. Was the only bit that wasn't.Standard procedure. So even if this is a very long spiel and rant, and even if the very next chapter resolves everything in a good manner, it doesn't matter, because I'm not going to read the story now, I was quite invested for the 73 chapters. I was a good read if not a little tedious, but yeah, the author's ruined it all with four paragraphs and I didn't even know those possible so.Honestly, I gotta applaud the author for that.
