As long as Horus can see the coin, he has many ways to levitate it using his telekinesis. He can simply use a thin layer of earth, mud, dust, leaves or anything really to lift and move the coin without directly touching it with his psychic powers.

It is recorded knowledge since the all inclusive unrestricted one was unaffordable. I've ready it and I agree that it is not obvious enough so thank you for pointing that out and I've edited the chapter so that it explicitly mentions that he limits it to recorded knowledge to reduce the price.

No those are going to be compressed/skimmed, but his visit to the Major Gym, and places like the Metero Falls, the Petalburg Forest, and other notable areas won't be skipped

Unless their body allows it or it is attached to something like a bracelet or necklace Pokemon can't carry items. That aside carry items aside from mega stones or a single berry if the Pokemon can store it in it's body are not allowed in official battles
