its short because they are splitting the chapters up into multiple chapters. In the mtl, this chapter and the previous two are one single chapter.

I used to like to read this but man the mc is dumb. The straw that broke the camels back for me was in the chapters around 990 when they finally go where Joanna and the green lady wanted to go. There are so many clues that point to time travel and yet the mc never figures this out

sorry for necro-posting but yeah this abrupt change happens in the mtl too. Idk what happened but the plot seems to have changed completely

Nice plot but pretty repetitive. A lot of information is repeated. Like a lot, as if the author was just trying to pad words. This pattern seems to repeat al the way to 629. Around chapter 630, the plot changes. Let's talk about how different the plot is. At the end of 629, Kant says they will march to attack the undead in three days. At the start of 630, the undead have apparently been handled. Bunduk is the only remaining hero left from all the heroes he had previously and has seemingly lost his special powers and become an ordinary person. New characters and terms have appeared in place of the other heroes and the Mount and Blade terms. His subordinates seem to have become normal people and not just blindly loyal soldiers. The previous plot with the world nobles seems to have never happened and it basically forgets the whole system that the story is based on. The new plot is based on things that never happened in the original story. I looked for the mtl and the translation definitely follows the mtl. I really have no idea what happened. Maybe Mount and Blade finally caught on to what was happening and stopped the author from using those terms. The novel also ends in like 200 chapters, so idk how the author intends on ending a new story that started 3/4's through the story

the novel is not bad but I think most of these reviews are praising it too much. it's definitely not for everyone. I feel like people have just been inundated by trope after trope and thus think that this novel is God tier for simply not having so many tropes. people will argue that the mc is "overly cautious" and not "cowardly". personally the mc was taking the whole cautious thing too far to the point of being cowardly. being cautious is good but the mc was being too cautious. I mean his disciple gets captured and beat up for years and, after the disciple is freed at the end of the war, the mc straight up admits that he was too afraid to save his disciple. another thing I'll note is that, while less than other cultivation novels, this novel still suffers from a repetitive plot. but imo, basically all cultivation novels suffer from this so it's not really a bit deal basically, if you like this kind of novel, cool. if you don't, also cool. I just got bored and slightly annoyed by the progression.

everytime i read this novel, i get weirded out when I remember that many characters are like elementary school kids. like the ML is in third grade yet is also proficient with torture. Or how a significant part of the plot is played out by these kids
