I guess you could say it's au, since it's a fanfiction. There's no aether in the original series. He's heavily influenced both Konoha pioneers. The only development he has is maybe loving someone. It's hard manipulating the concept of overly powered mc, and make that character have a personal development. Due to that, I made it so that the people close to him would have their own development. There's so many plot holes in this story to which I will actually re-edit the initial chapters. Thanks for your review, I'm still learning so I'm grateful for any critics!

No, aether entirely different here despite it being called Aether Release. Chakra comes from the spirit and body while aether comes from the world.
