Spoiler free review The title and summary both are on point. Chu Xuan (MC) transmigrates and receives a sign in type system, which rewards him the more he stays shut in. The only time he truly leaves is when he was absolutely Invincible. Worldbuilding, As always with Xianxia, a very very big world. Also the usual there is a bigger world out there also happened several times. Although since MC is a shut in, we don't see many places from his perspective. So, not much in case of unique and memorable locations. MC and Side Characters, Great. MC is Ok. He is fun but uninteresting at the same time, everything he has comes from the System. Although it is shown that he cultivates as well, but without the system that would be meaningless. The side character leads the show here. Lots of awesome side characters in this, especially the desciples. Cultivation System, Very generic. Although all Cultivation levels are explained in detailed with amazing descriptions of their own. But, in an actual fight it all comes down to stronger Cultivation guy is stronger in every way. I like Cultivation system, where higher level are more then just an increase in strength. This novel shows that sometimes, like with the Emperor realm, but then it goes back to being generic. About the Plot and Ending, There is no overarching plot. Although we have a final boss at the end, even he only comes in the last 100 chapters. Other than that, it's MC becoming stronger, his Desciples revenge and them becoming stronger, and other people reacting to changes MC brings to the world. The ending however is quite rushed and lame, but I don't think there was another way to end it. MC was too strong at the end, dragging it will only make it worse. In summary, A good light hearted novel of a fun MC and OP System. You should try it if you are looking for a casual read.
Spoiler free review Another good novel. It's a story of our MC "Su Ping" who gets reincarnated into a scifi Cultivation World but luckily receives an OP System. While it might not be a literary masterpiece or a must-read but it's definitely unique and fun novel. Worldbuilding, A very expansive world. The scale of the world is massive. Also MC keeps traveling to many different worlds, so you will keep seeing new places all the time. MC and Side Characters, Amazingly done. MC is a joy to read, he is outspoken and very justice oriented which is the main reason he gets into a lot of fights. Other then MC, we have his friends / pets, each of which have a story of their own which are amazingly done. Even the ordinary side characters have a story of their own. Although many of these side character eventually get forgotten later, but during the time they were shown almost each of them gets some time to shine. Cultivation, A unique Cultivation system which focuses on Pets at the early level. The later level are all Dao related but I believe this novel has one of the best understanding of how Dao Cultivation will look like from Cultivation perspective. Even the "Star Lord" level cultivators, which is at the middle of the whole Cultivation tree are basically Omnipotent, they can do anything Create life, travel in space, even time, reverse death, create matter, anything. The higher level are somehow even more Omnipotent. About the Plot, The plot can be divided into two parts. The first half focuses on MC's growth in Cultivation and as a person, and it's where the story shines the most. The character development of MC is engaging, even if he occasionally behaves like a Young Master but he still is a very charming character. The second half delves into the mystery of the System, the truth of the world, and the final big bad enemy. Ending, Very weird ending. It was definitely rushed but it was also wierd that everyone in the last fight suddenly turned into a philosopher. Rather then ending with a fight, almost all the people in the ending few chapters are basically having a debate about of life and death. Although there is still a fight going on but it's not the main focus. I didn't dislike it but this was definitely the first time I am seeing something like this in a webnovel, this is more of an anime thing. Cons, As the story progresses, the author seems to become forgetful of what he has written previously, which results in inconsistency in his writing, lots of ordinary character being forgotten and lots of plot threads which never being fully resolved. In summary, Good novel. Sometimes it even made me feel very warm and fuzzy. Give it a try, especially if you like pet novels.
Not that good. I picked it up because there were not many chapters and the reviews were good but I don't really liked the novel. Let's start from beginning, It is the story of Xu Ning, a guy with no backstory who transmigrates into the body of another Xu Ning with a broken and boring cheat. I will be dividing this novel into 2 parts the Mortal Arc which would be about first 200 chapters, and the Dao Realm Arc. The Mortal Arc is great, you have challanges ups and downs, meaningful relationships, family, friendship, clever fights, and more. The Dao Realm Arc however, gives you no challenges, MC will always level up before any difficulty, side character are thrown away once they are not needed, the pace of story increases rapidly, MC is having a breakthrough every 20 or less chapters, fights are basically MC overwhelming others with his superior strength. Let me give you an example of how bad the Dao Realm Arc gets, the only combat technique he learns throughout the Dao Realm is "Void Walk Beast Phantom" and it wasn't used for more that 5 chapters, all the previous technique before the Dao Realm are not used in Dao Realm. About the Ending, Ending sucks. The Final Boss guy has no stakes with the MC. Just a bad guy who wants to kill everyone for a petty reason and MC took up the duty to stop him. Also, the ending arc is incredibly rushed, the whole Dao Arc is greatly rushed but the ending takes the cake. When I finished it, I was already fed up with the whole story being rushed that I only sighed in relief for the novel finally ending. MC and his cheat, Plain MC. Good aligned. Not smart, the only time he is shown smart is by making the other character become dumb. His cheat allows him to absorb energy from any Marital Art resource like a herb or a pill, and once he has enough energy he can perfectly level up to the peak of the next level of Cultivation. He never puts any effort into Cultivation. And since he perfectly levels up to the peak of Cultivation, he is also always strongest in his current realm. Cultivation System, Cultivation System is not particularly unique, but quite descriptive. Seems like Author put a lot of thought into describing each stage and the process of Cultivation. But it doesn't mean much when MC's cheat straight up ignores every picularity of the Cultivation Realm and just levels up to the peak of the next realm. The final Cultivation realm had a unique idea, it's basically mastering the Origin of the World and then travelling to other world to master their Cultivation System and their unique Origin, but that also wasn't explored much because of the rushed ending. Overall, This novel was a Disappointment. It's a cliche novel with nothing unique to it. And it looks like Author was trying to end it after the first half, the novel after the first 50% is incredibly rushed.
I think there is a chapter way earlier, where he places a tree demon to protect his mortal family (by that I mean the family of the guy he transmigrates into) but even then he never meets them. After that his family was never mentioned again.
Complete novel review. Spoiler free review. Amazing novel. One of the best I have read. This is the story of Jiang Li, our MC is a smart and very sarcastic person with a rediculously overpowered cheat. It's a fast paced so there isn't a moment where it will feel dull, things keeps on happening. And MC's growth is also very fast, if I say that he gets a power up or a new ability every 10-20 chapter, i wouldn't be wrong. About the World, One of the best world building I have seen in a xianxia novel. Minor spoiler you will find out in first couple of chapters, but the Great Cultivation World was destroyed. Our MC has been transmigrated to a world which has just started walking on the path of Cultivation again after a few thousand years. Their is a whole mystery surrounding this new world. What happened? why was the world destroyed? What happened to all those powerful Immortals and Gods of the past? You will find yourself finding the answer to these questions along with the MC step by step as he becames stronger. About the Plot, Not much in terms of Plot. As with other novels, MC finds himself facing challenges after challenges, each of which resulting in him getting something good out of it. You won't get much time to appreciate the plot because in few chapters MC will figure out a way out of the current problem. Then onto the next challenge. The main plot of the novel is to figure out why the world ended and all the challanges MCs will face while figuring this out. Kingdom Building, One of the rare novel where MC's build his own Clan/Sect/Kingdom. He doesn't really establish a kingdom, rather a City, but it's a Cultivator City, so over the top size are given. I have always liked Kingdom Building in novels, and this novel is really good at that. Sadly this novel treats Kingdom Building as a secondary aspect, so most of the time you will only get hints of what's happening in his City. But even the bits and pieces you get from time to time are fun to read. MC and his cheat, Jiang Li is smart, sarcastic and really really smug guy. His cheat is also rediculously overpowered and he takes complete advantage of that. He is so overpowered that not only can he fight above his level but by the second half of the novel, MC is basically unkillable. And I don't mean that as he is powerful, he can just stand infront of his enemies and let them hit him and they still won't be able to kill him, he may not win, but he definitely won't lose. Also he isn't your typical hot blooded xianxia mc who are proud who will rather break then bow or MCs who let their enemies live, leaving them a possibility of comeback. If you becomes Jiang Li's enemy, he will use whatever means to weaken you, nothing is off limit and when he finally defeats you, then you either die or in his words "leave the darkness and join the light" - basically he will use various method to control your life and death or even brainwash you, and this is how he has turned lots of his enemies into his "friends". About the ending, Disappointing but understandable ending. The final Villian(s) are disappointing. Without going into any spoiler, we get a smart evil villian, he shaped the world for a long time, his fight against MC had meaning, but he lost easily. Then we got another villian, who was very powerful, but their was no emotional attachment to him. Although the fight was very cool but story wise this big bad was disappointing. The abrupt ending was understandable, by the end of the novel, MC is at the peak of the world, there are no more challenges, no one opposes him, no one can oppose him. He is The One and Only Ruler of the Whole World. Nobody is at his level, nobody is at even 3-4 level below him. I can understand why author couldn't find anything else to write without making the story become dull and had to end this novel. Although, It would have been great if there were some side stories chapters at the end. Still one of the best xianxia novel I have read. If you want to read a fast paced novel with an overpowered cheat and a smart MC, give this a try.
Complete Review. Spoiler free review. This one is unique. It's the story of the rise of our MC from Mortal to Absolute Omnipotence, he has the system which is mostly the reason for his success. The MC is very passive, he doesn't act unless prompted by an outside force. The first half of the story is still good, MC is more proactive there. But after that story seems to slow down but time in story speeds up, millions of year passby every few chapters. It became a bit of chore reading this at that time, but the story still has many intersting things to keep your interest even then. Story, From my perspective it's not just the story of the MC, but the story of MC, his Desciples, his descendents, his enemies and even the entire world(s). The secondary characters are the one whose adventures we get to see most of the time, even if only slightly. Also, there is something unique to this novel, that we see the world(s) grow. What do I mean by the "world(s) itself growing"? You will understand it if you read it. MC, Han Jue is a boring MC. He is charismatic, charming, funny, smart, ruthless but still boring nonetheless. He is not a hot blooded xianxia protagonist, usually I will praise such a character but this guy is way too passive. Although he still have his occasional moments of awesomeness which makes him bearable. Characters, The characters don't get forgotten, most of the time. Every character which gets a few chapters will be around for a long long time. Their personality though are nothing special, although all characters have their unique traits. The author does this thing where he would introduce a character as calm, or arrogant and also claim that he is secretly something else, secretly scheming or reckless. Technically, this should make the characters looks more dynamic and their personality more special, but he doesn't explore this much. So, they still feels like just a character with multiple traits and not a person. So, technically we have a unique cast of characters with their own unique traits, but they still feel pretty generic. The World, The world is one of the driving force for the story. Since, MC is a passive person and usually doesn't act unless he has absolute certainty of his victory. The world here acts as a plot device to the story to move forward. So, the times when MC truly makes his move is when the world itself is in danger. Other than that we never truly explore the world. Yes, MC goes from a weaker world to a stronger world several time. But he doesn't properly explore it, no secret realm, or anything like that. Cultivation System, One of my favorite Cultivation System I have ever read. After you become an Immortal level figure, the benefits of such a Cultivation level becomes more obvious than in any other novel. A higher level Cultivator feels Omnipotent to a lower level one. They can see past, future, all possibilities of someone with lower cultivation base. Time travel to kill someone's past self is a valid tactic between higher level cultivators. Dividing your will into millions or even billions and then have them reincarnate into individuals lives is something everyone seems to do. At higher level fights between similar level Cultivators, people bodies and even souls get destroyed multiple times in a fight and they keep regenerating and keep on fighting. Unless attacked by someone even stronger then them, all higher level cultivators are basically immortal and omnipotent. Overall, Good story. Good premise. A unique novel, you should definitely read as a xianxia fan, if you are looking for something new. The author is very creative with the abilities, worlds and characters. 8/10, not the best but definitely one of a kind.
Complete Review. Spoiler free review. This is the story of Lin Fan becoming Strong to Super Strong through liberal use of Nut shots and sneak attacks. He is not your average Cultivator. I would even say he isn't even a Cultivator, the chapters our MC actually cultivates can be counted in one hand, with fingers left over. He is a madman, who only desires to kill and rob the Strong and act even Stronger infront of the Weak. About the general story, It's was very funny for the first half. The jokes becames a bit stale when he becames strong. The charm of this story is when he is weak but still toying with the strong ones, but when he becomes strong he doesn't know what to do. At that point, it was still funny but I wanted to strangle this bastard to death, it does become better towards the end. There are many many moments where plot armor saves the MC, and it’s a good thing in his case. Because he is the kind of guy who will cut the branch he is sitting on, while calling other people stupid. About the plot and the ending, There is a plot but it's there mainly to just push the MC from one event to the next. There is no overarching meaning hidden. He just keeps fighting stronger enemy as they come, even if there shouldn't be any reason. Because of this there are a ton of plot holes and storylines which goes nowhere. The ending is kind of meta, I won't spoil it. But this was going to be a terrible ending anyway, the author going meta made the ending somewhat unique. About MC, He is a stupid, narcissistic, dumb, shameless, good guy who loves to showoff. He is the kind of guy who will be careful against the strong, but when he finds an advantage against them, he turns bloody arrogant. Most of his fuckups are because of his own arrogance, because he loves to showoff, he will then start taunting his enemies, then the reverse the situation and begins cursing them. I really really want to strangle the MC during these moments. About the Side Characters, What characters? Characters only behaves as themselves when MC needs them. Otherwise they might as well just be called Background Actor #1, #2 and so on. All enemies are proud at first, become arrogant when MC starts fighting them, and become cowards afterwards. All allies, are proud at first, become curious when they meet MC, become MC's fan afterwards. There are some who have a unique personality and stay like that... for a few chapters. About the World, Gasp!! There is a greater world where people have even higher Cultivation!! x6 About the Cultivation System, Nothing special. A higher Cultivation guy is stronger then someone of the weaker Cultivation, but it's because they have more power not because of any special reasons. There are no unique Abilities to gain, no special abilities to use against the strong ones. Just more raw power because of a higher Cultivation stage. I dislike these kind of Cultivation system. I will give an example, logia in one piece have a great advantage against even those stronger then them. A logia might not defeat a strong guy, but he will not get defeated either. Here whoever has the biggest fist wins. Those who can fight against the higher Cultivation, can only do so because of more power, not any special abilities. Ofcourse there are mentions of unqiue powers in novel, but in fights there is basically no difference between Five Elements Sword Qi, Origin of Power and a Punch. Overall, Only the MC's antics and jokes are carrying the whole story. But the jokes are also that good, to carry the whole story. A good read if you want a not so serious novel.
Completed review. Spoiler free review. Best MTL translation, I have ever read. Best fanfic, I have ever read. This is the Story of Felix Hap not Harry Potter. Most of the HP fanfic, just insert their characters in HP and then show Harry's story from the SI's perspective with some changes. But here Harry's journey is secondary. Although, we still get to see the Trio's school life a lot, but everything has changed greatly and we still see more then what we hope for. The best aspect of this is the characters. They feel more real. I really really would like to see this fanfic as a movie. There is many things the Author added in the World but he doesn't change anything that is already established in the movies. Just adds onto it. The magic and the power level were the best surprise, the Wizards are much more versatile and way more stronger especially someone on the level of Voldemort and Dumbledore. I really won't mind if the story went on for dozens more chapters. I feel the story ended abruptly, although all storylines are finished and it even stopped at a good time. But there is so much more the author can show. He has build an expansive world which can keep going even without the Main Character still being the part of the story. I truly have no regrets with this. I usually don't say something like this is the best novel/fanfic I have ever read, because that sounds like a very big claim to me. But for this I can confidently say that "This is the Best Fanfic I have ever read."
Complete Review. spoiler free. It's a good story. The story is action packed and fast paced, so you won't get any boring moments. There are many twists and turns (I would say way too many), which keeps the story exciting at all times. The Protagonists is kind of pacifist, not a bloodthirsty xianxia protagonist we usually get. Main reason is his cheat, which means he doesn't have to initiate fight to get stronger for resources or something. There are no dumb side characters, they don't get much character development but they don't fall flat either. Every new character gets a decent intro and their own roles in the story. And because of the Dimensional Zones, the author gives us all kind of wacky situations and ideas. This I think is one of the strength of the story, the author has created a framework where he can add any crazy idea and it would make sense in the story. Unlike other xianxia, here a higher Cultivation doesn't mean you can't be beaten, even those at the top can be killed in a random Dimensional Zone or defeated by some unique set of abilities by some weaker person. MC gets way too many lucky chances. He gets unique Abilities, powerful Companions Beasts all the time, but it doesn't make the story less exciting. The ending resolves nearly all of the plot threads. But it is still an open ending, maybe there will be a sequel story for this someday. Could be interesting, but I think I like this as a standalone story more. If I had to say something that I find lacking, I would say a lack of POVs from another characters, or atleast more about their plans or even what they are doing. The story mostly focuses on MC itself, so everytime we get something new it surprises the MC and the Reader. This is intersting, for most of the situation. but not when our side character suddenly show a new ability out of nowhere or know something they shouldn't. And this is fine when it happens lets say 2 out of 10 times, but here it's most of the time, side characters or antagonists will suddenly show us something new out of nowhere. It doesn't distract from the story but I still find it annoying. Overall it's a 8/10 novel for me. Not the best I have ever read but definitely something I can recommend to others.
A Good fanfic, moreover it's complete. which is super rare among fanfiction. I like the story. MC is smart, careful, a bit too much of a Psychopath for my taste but it's fine. The story more than makes up for it. and I like how many original things are there in this fic, it's not a copy of One Piece world. The Author is very creative and came up with lots of new things, the story of Joyboy and Im-sama. The Haki power system. Even the Ancient weapons (Pluton being an earthworm bio-mecha was awesome) and the moon people. There are also a lot of things I dislike though. The ending for one, it could have been ended after the death of Im-sama, the story honestly became boring after that. But I can still understand why the story has to be extend until he becomes Omnipotent since that was MC's plan since day 1. The other thing I absolutely hate is what happened with Robin. The starting arc where MC manipulates Robin was the only part where she was important. After that she just became a background character who either manages MC's kingdom or shows us how much a psycho our MC is, she didn't even get a proper ending. Overall, great story but disappointing ending. Still pretty awesome.
