Shepard, still visibly shaky from the ordeal, was led to a specialized chamber. The chamber to Shepard looked like something out of an ancient sci-fi novel, with an array of sensors and holographic interfaces swirling around a central chair that Shepard was asked to sit in.

Normally the information would be impossible to get since it was in his head, but for the Ascendency scientists, it was easy. To see the memories of a person was something that was easy to do now, which greatly improved their ability to convict criminals and gather intelligence. This was achieved by utilizing the Domain, which the Ascendency had come to understand and able to use.

the key to defeating the reapers is to wield a bigger stick than they do and my stick is better than bacon.
Back to the Ascendency research team, their expeditions had turned into finding more Prothean stasis pods since it was possible that there was some even if just one, Prothean Stasis pod still active out there somewhere. If they found it, they could bring back the ancient race that had fought the Reapers and gain some valuable insight into how the Reapers fought and worked.

If the episode played out, this 'creature' would have been a giant beast that was over two thousand kilometers big and had psychic abilities which fooled the majority of the Voyager crew. Only Seven and Naomi were immune to the illusion that the creature's mouth was a wormhole back to the Alpha Quadrant as they did not want to return to Earth as much as the others. The duo, along with the Doctor, and a grumpy alien who was hunting the beast, managed to save Voyager.

The battle was over, and the colony was saved. A few hours later, Alliance forces had arrived and started their recovery of the colony, offering relief efforts to colonists/families who were affected by this attack. Their forces were already stretched thin as the fleet they had enforcing the law in this area of space had too many systems to patrol. But this incident would hopefully serve to increase the Alliance military efforts in the region.
