As an American, I can tell you that Americans don't understand what Communism even is, nor do they care to learn the difference between Dictatorial Communism and Democratic Communism. 99% just go "Communism bad, must be terrorist talk" from outdated propaganda from the early 1900s and cold war era that as never changed. Meanwhile, we STILL use a cancerous system of capitalism that even the founding fathers are on record for noting down that a new system needs to replace it before it destroys itself and our country. We are well past that point, and yet any steps to better or change it is shot down with "OH, that communist speech." GG, we played ourselves and continued to. This comes from someone who has graduated from college and has studied the topic extensively.

Honestly. I agree. It also makes it really boring to read when everything from day one has been extremely minor changes that seem to have no real effect on the main plot due to "not wanting to interrupt original plot" in a fanfic specifically stating to right wrongs from the past. I know it's easier this way, but dang is it ruining my drive to keep reading at this point.
