Lunch Plans
Emilia tapped her fingers on her desk as she kept glancing at her watch.
After speaking with Maya she decided that there was nothing wrong with giving Jay a chance.
She might like Max more and they might be engaged on paper, but if he wasn't interested, Emilia wasn't willing to be part of a loveless marriage.
She wanted a relationship like Nathaniel's and Maya's, one where the person she was married to would burn the world for her.
In all honesty, Nathaniel and Maya had set her up for failure. She now had impossible standards for a relationship and it was all because she wanted what her brother had.
Glancing at her watch again, Maya pouted.
Jay always came by her office at 12 noon sharp to ask if she had lunch plans.
Normally Emilia would turn him down and tell him she had plans with her brother, which normally was the case. But today Ezra and Nathaniel had business lunches to attend to.
