Xerox Zee : An Extra into a Novel

[The universe that we all live in is different for each and everyone and it can be interpreted on the basis of one's point of view...….] 

This phrase is what I have been contemplating for a long period of time, and the day I could share something about when the two souls combine together right after my deep sleep…..

The universe where I exist currently is known to be as Pathogos and as far as I know it has always been under the demonic forces and the monstrous beasts that threatens our existence.

Yet, the presence of Mana makes the people of this universe a bit different then the ones who exist without Mana.

Moreover, with the help of Mana, people of this world can fight back with those monstrous beasts and demons vigorously.

But with one condition that people with maximum Mana who are considered to be a high Rank human can easily fight back than that of those humans who don't have much Mana.

Myself, Xerox Zee . The name given by my lovely Mom and Dad, I am only an average person with Rank 1 who is soon going to be admitted to one of the best academies known as Eclipse high school in this universe.

The Academy Eclipse high school has a lot of different Rank Humans where the most predominant one is the people with Rank 10.

To be more precise, the humans who possess Rank 10 are known to be the most powerful and strongest ones, but the humans with Rank 1 are the lowest rank.

Additionally, in this high school there are many teachers and professors who are of top ranks and there are a lot of records that they have conquered the most dangerous dungeons and those daring beasts.

I had prepared a lot for my successful admission to the Eclipse Academy for so long and having gone through a lot of practice I finally could fight and defeat 5 Monsters of Rank 1 with my sword weapon Level 1 gifted by my grandfather.

Actually, in the Eclipse Academy for successful admission all the participants or students must undergo an entrance test where we have to fight and defeat Rank 1 monsters within a given time.

And based on the number of monsters defeated, we are awarded with the points whether we can enroll in this academy or not.

In this universe, we do have something called the skill in which every human acquires this through the skill scroll in order to improve one's proficiency.

When talking about one's proficiency, in this world the proficiency is categorized into four main categories; P1, P2, P3,P4, P5 and P6. Here the P6 is the highest proficiency and the P1 is the lowest.

By the way, in the entrance exam there were 1000 participants amongst which I was the last luckiest person with the lowest points.

Specifically, I was in 999 position among those participants who managed to pass the exam.

Though, I wasn't really happy with the position I got but like what my Dad had told me that just by getting an opportunity to enroll in such a well known academy is what it really matters.

So, thinking of Dad's immense words I gradually felt lucky and headed back home.

While I was heading back home, I heard someone saying something from the back…..

"Haha, You are no less than a loser!!"

"Huh!..."

"Your points are just too low and its shameful for you to get your result to your parents"

"I don't f**king care !"

Having said that, I moved from that area and from nowhere I could see a lot of people congratulating those students who were in top position. 

"WoW, you are really a monster!!!"

"You have defeated 40 monsters of rank 1 in just a given period of time"

"BIG CONGRATULATIONS ! "

At that Moment, I was really disheartened and kind of embarrassed of myself to have such low points and the position.

Hushh!!!!!!!

"This year, it seems like all my classmates are going to be the real monsters!"

However, I didn't pay much attention to this matter and immediately went home.

While reaching back at home, I couldn't find anyone there as usual.

For my Mom and Dad, as they were working in one of the federations called Iron Veil which is just D grade federation.

The Federation is divided into 6 Grade ; G-A … G-B … G-C … G-D … G-E … G-F …. (G means grade)

Normally, the federation begins with the grade F and then grade E that is given to the federation having some achievements.

And to be graded as D, the condition was that the federation must have a minimum of 10 rank 3 members, and for the grade C there should be atleast 10 rank 4 members.

 Although the federation where my parents were working doesn't have a rank 4 or 5 or 6 member, there were at least 15 rank 3 members.

That evening after completing their work in the federation my parents came back home while I was sitting on the sofa thinking of how to approach my parents regarding the results of the test.

KNOCK! KNOCK!...

"Good evening, my dearest Xerox"] My Mom said.

"Good evening, Mom and Dad" I replied.

"How did your entrance test go?" My Dad asked with his bulb eyes.

"Well, regarding my entrance test, I could hardly manage to pass and moreover my position was 999 which is so embarrassing"

"Ahhhhh,,,,, Well that is how my son is. I am really proud of you dear as in our life the rank doesn't really matter if you could actually pass the exam"

Upon hearing such a soothing word from my handsome Dad, I felt really motivated in that instant.

"Whoaa!! Thank you so much Dad for such a supportive word"

Meanwhile my Mom was busy doing something inside the other room and I was like what is she really doing today?

As I was filled with so much of curiosity, my thought couldn't hold any longer and I asked my Dad:

"What is Mom really doing inside the other room today?"

With a big smile on my Dad's face he replied:

"Haha, We as your parents always know you very well and even in the entrance test we already knew that you are going to make it by any means. So, your Mom and myself have got you a special gift for you"

Right after Dad said such a pleasing word, my Mom came with a small tiny red box in her hand although I didn't Know what was really inside the box.

"Xerox, are you fine?"

Having said that, Mom immediately gave me a kiss on my forehead.

At that time, I really felt so warm and loved as for every mother what they want to give to their son and daughter is LOVE!

Moreover, It was some kind of care for me as I have been fighting with those demonic monsters.

"Mom you are the best mother in the entire universe and for your kind information I am alright with no damage in my body"

So, she handed me the tiny box that she and Dad had prepared for me.

I was really happy to have such a surprise from my parents and I directly took the little gift to my room with enormous desperation in the back of my mind.

After that, we ate our dinner and went to our own room to sleep. 

However, before sleeping I took my gift in my hand and with so much excitement I slowly opened it up and to my surprise It was a SKILL RING!!!

"SKILL RING????"

"HUH!"

This Skill Ring gift really took my breath for a few seconds as for every person in this universe, it was so expensive to buy it though it is of the lowest rank.

Although the Skill Ring is of low rank, the good thing about this Skill Ring is that it can help the person to acquire skill from various ranks.

This means that depending on the luck of each human, there is a chance where if a person really has got plenty of luck, he or she might even get the rank 10 skills which is actually a good thing.

For expectation, I didn't really hope for the rank 10 skills. However, I did have an expectation to get rank 6 or 7 skill from the Skill Ring.

"Ahhh This ….."

For a few minutes, I couldn't really speak any word because with so much of a penny used to buy this item, it could have been used for my Dad to level up his rank.

Nonetheless, my parents invested a lot of money on me?

This thought really triggered me to feel guilty as it was some kind of sacrifice made by my Dad and Mom. Especially My Dad who could have leveled up his rank....

As I couldn't really bear the guilt , I thought of giving this Skill Ring to my Dad but something really stopped me from doing such action.

With the solid decision made to use the Skill Ring, I slowly rubbed the ring then some sort of aurora came out of it and got into my body….

At that time I felt so relaxed and also felt that the skill got integrated into my body.

Having completed the skill integration process, I was wondering what skill I really got. So I activated my status screen.

Mind Memory ??? Shit ! Shit ! 

I really got frustrated upon seeing it thinking that my Mom and Dad have spent a lot of money for it and in the end what I just got was Mind Memory. 

The skill which just helps us to improve our memory and it was just a worthless rank 1 skill which everyone could afford so easily. 

This has really devastated me with so much pain inside my heart like I was literally sad thinking of what to tell my beloved parents who really made me feel special.

That very night I couldn't sleep well with so many rubbish dreams provoking me not to sleep and think of doing something better.

The next day it was Sunday which was off for both my Mom and Dad and we all were on the dining table ready to eat our breakfast.

 "Xerox, did you integrate Ring Skill with you ?" My dad asked with his bold voice.

At that instance, I was like hell what the f**k should I reply to my Dad…..

"Xerox!" He once again called my name.

"Ahh….. Dad, I didn't really integrate Ring Skill with me. I thought of doing it today" 

So, basically I lied to my Dad in order not to make him feel down in the early morning.

With that, we finished our breakfast and I went to the long toilet …

While I was shitting, something really made me think of checking my status screen once more. 

"Alright I'm going to activate my status screen once more to make sure that I really got Rank 1 Mind Memory Skill"

Ever since yesterday my luck really s**ked up so today also I don't have that much hope.

Sigh!

As I gradually went through my status screen, to my entire surprise I could see that the skill that I got was rank 10 Mind Memory skill.

I couldn't believe myself and I rubbed my eyes once again but it remained the same.

"What the ..... Is going on?"

So I immediately came out of the washroom even without flushing due to an over excitement and I shouted:

"MOM! DAD! I GOT IT"

"What is it .... Xerox?" My dad questioned me.

"Rank 10 Mind Memory Skill"

"OMG!!!!"

Both my Mom and Dad were out of sense for a moment….

"That is really good news" My mom said.

With that being said, later in the evening when I reach back on my bed I really wanted to make use of the skill on me and see what really happens. 

On the other hand, nothing really happened and not even a little of my memory was changed or affected.

"Damn…., is this skill really not working or am I not able to make a full use of it?"

The first suggestion was kind of funny because there was never such an incident where the skill doesn't really work in this universe. 

For the second suggestion, it might be right because if one doesn't have a certain amount of Mana, it is nearly impossible for anyone to make use of the Mind Memory Skill.

I really wanted to know why it didn't affect my memory but I kept it for tomorrow and fell asleep….

Honestly speaking, I was so delighted as getting rank 10 Mind Memory skill was kind of rare and it was really a special one if one gets it.

That one was me and having such a pride moment I gradually fell into deep sleep where I Xerox Zee, not knowing what I would become the following day….
