Wait, What? I'm a Phoenix?

**Blood flows out of her wound as she tries to escape her pursuers. She entered the most dangerous forest in their kingdom, the one that she treated as her backyard before, but now with her cultivation crippled, she doesn't even want to think about what will happen to her anymore. She tried to stop the tears in her eyes as she tried to stop remembering that one of the pursuers behind her back, is the person she trusted the most.

Because of the heavy feelings weighing in her heart, she unconsciously stumbled in a tree root and leaned on it, while clutching her chest instead of her deep wounds, and muffled a sob.

She asks herself, just why? What did she do to deserve this? Why is the world so cruel? Of all the people who will betray and shatter her like this, why does it has to be the first person who taught her to see the positive side of the world? The first person who said that he will always be with her no matter what? The first person who stood up for her when the world said that she is just a garbage? A trash?

Sounds of hurried footsteps entered her senses, urging her to run again.

As a the little girl inside her tough facade constantly tells her that he was just forced, that he didn't want to do this, reality proved otherwise.

" Manong paraaaa!!", she shouted, making the jeepney abruptly came to a stop and the passengers to bump with each other, there was even two male passengers who almost kissed!

The inside is filled with angry murmurs, in which she completely ignored, even when all she wanted to do is to laugh maniacally, and ran back to the street where their house is located like a madwoman, while checking the time in her wristwatch.

' Damn, is this the end of the world?', she thought as she remembers the hell she went through when she once came home past her curfew.

' Dude, that was the worst', she continues running fast as the memory of her, kneeling in a basin filled with mung beans outside their house while trying to hide her embarrased face to their neighbours who were curiously watching her, maybe wondering why an already 18 years old young lady has to have a very childish punishment. Her face can't help but to turn red whenever she remembers how her crush next door laughed at her before entering his house, resurfaced in her mind again and again like a curse.

Because of that, she uncrushed him and did her best to never endure such humilliating punishment all over again.

She ran faster and almost burst into tears when she can already see the roof of their house from the street she's currently in.

' Hallelujah!', she almost shouted her thoughts when she reached their door at exactly 4:59.

" I'm homeeeee!!!!", she loudly announced, as if afraid that all the people in the house can't hear it.

" I know", her spirit almost jumps out of her system when she saw her mother putting the slippers she washed this morning exactly the same time she opened the door and her mouth, amazed that she seems to know her arrival all the time.

" Mom, why don't you just admit that you are a cultivator but just want to have a more peaceful life, so you and dad secluded yourselves in Earth and get married then had beautiful babies?", she said with an exaggerated hand movements while displaying an ' I - already - know' look.

Her mother's lips twitched slightly, looking at her as if she already needs to visit the mental institution, the sooner, the better.

" Please do me a favor and stop reading that kind of novels because I think I am going crazy just from listening to your nonsense", her mother replied and shakes her head while turning her back to her 'sick - in - the - head' child to go to the kitchen and starts cooking for dinner.

" You just have to tell me the truth and I will wholeheartedly accept it! ", she shouted while grinning, earning a 'you're - unbelievable' look from her mother.

She always teases her mother this way. She always marvel about how her mother can sense that someone is arriving, how she knows that she is still not sleeping even if she always did her best to keep quiet in her room just to continue reading, and how she always know whatever happens to her and her siblings outside. There were even times when she though that maybe she was a secret agent.
