"Who are you, how did you get out of your cage Slave?"
Currently the guard had noticed that the condensed air had transformed into the silhouette of a person. He looked like your average slave except for the fact that he was actually out of the cage. The silhouette stood there with dim lusterless eyes and dark gold, disheveled hair. It didn't carry out any particular actions and just stood there starring at the guard.
The guard seeing this, was infuriated. "If you don't tell me how you got out of your cell in the time of three breaths, I'll chop you into minced meat right where you stand". As the guard made his proclamation, his hand drew out a slender short sword from his belt buckle sheath.
He glared fiercely at the slave that stood there under the dark lighting of the slave hall. However, he didn't dare raise his voice.
If someone found out that a slave actually managed to escape from the cage under his watch, even though he could still capture the slave, he would become a laughingstock among the guards. Not only that, he might even get punished by the warden.
Seeing that the slave still stood there not even bothering to answer back, he gnashed his teeth and charged forward with his short sword. How dare a slave disregard he, a second level Dawn tier stage Martial artist. He would be able to kill this lowly slave with a flick of his finger.
Die!
He thrust out his sword aiming for the slaves heart and the power of a second level dawn tier grade enveloped the slave silhouette. Seeing the slave still frozen in place, most likely from shock, a snare crawled up to his lips as his attack reached the slave.
However, he soon realized that the sword attack pierced right through the silhouettes body and went right through causing no harm whatsoever. Seeing this, his eyes immediately filled with terror and he retreated several steps while he looked at the gold haired silhouette standing there motionless.
He was completely still to the point that it didn't even seem like he was still breathing. "What-What-what are you?"
That silhouette that stood there seemed to have demonstrated a special ability. Suddenly the guard gasped in shock and his legs trembled involuntarily. "Y-You, are you a soul lining grade martial artist?"
"Technically, you are not too far off".
"Huh". The guard immediately turned around but a silhouette had already slept up behind him while he was starring at the figure ahead.
"Split Snatch". Before the guard could react, Lucas had already appeared before him and swung his hand out. With a flick of his hand, he tagged the guards wrist and struck it with full strength. The guard felt a sharp pain and his grip on the sword lessened greatly. Lucas however saw his chance and snatched the sword away from the guard.
What lucas had just performed was a basic skill from his previous life as an expert soldier, he called it Split snatch because he would use it to snatch the weapon of his opponent. After attacking the guards wrist, his grip reduced greatly giving lucas the advantage to snatch the sword.
However, lucas didn't stop there. As the guard was flustered, he took a step forward and performed a horizontal slash. The guard immediately put both hands on his throat. There was a deep slash mark that had occurred due to Lucas's sword strike and blood began to gush out of the guards neck. The guard then fell down with his eyes completely devoid of life. He was dead.
Lucas searched the guards body and found a small blade as well as 10 bronze coins on him. He then turned around and threw the blade to Zander who was still sitting in the cage dumbstruck.
What the hell did he see?
Lucas had executed his newly acquired skill to create an clone of himself outside the cage to catch the guards attention. However he had just learned the skill so therefore he could only make it stand still on the spot and couldn't control it movements. Naturally, it wasn't an actual clone but an illusory image technique, even if he could make it move, it wouldn't be able to do anything else apart from serve as a distraction.
However, a distraction was exactly what he needed. When the guard attacked the illusion, he brought out a small iron wire that he had been keeping with him for a while. Using his experience as an expert all rounded warrior, he had broken into max security prisons back on earth, much less a cage that was built to hold powerless slaves.
He immediately picked the lock and used the dim surroundings to sneak up behind the confused guard who had stopped attacking after he realized something was off. He then executed split snatch to steal his opponents sword and end his life with a single blow.
"Young master..... How did you... Just?"
"No time for that now, the next guard will show up to change shifts in an hour, explanations will be held after we escape this hellhole".
Lucas didn't continue speaking and turned to face the dead guard laying on the floor. He then knelt down and put both his hands on the guards head. He immediately closed his eyes and began meditating.
If the Fallen angel was here, he would be able to recognize what Lucas was trying to do.
"Soul Searching Technique". This was a method where the Fallen angel would search for the core points in the opponents body. However it didn't just locate the core points, it could also be used to search the opponents memories. What Lucas wanted to do was to see if there were any escape routes he could use to escape this place. He had more or less comprehended the time shifts and levels of different guards as well but he didn't have enough exposure to find suitable exits. That was when he found this skill in the memories of the Fallen Angel. The Fallen angel had another title known as the Dark angel.
The skill could be used on even a dead person as long as the time of death wasn't up to an hour. Zander looked at Lucas with a complicated light but didn't dare disturb him, this young master was completely shrouded in mystery and he was unable to see through him.
After 3 minutes, Lucas found what he was looking for. The place where they were captured into was called the Slave Silo and their current location was the slave Hall. All the exits of the Silo were heavily guarded by people at the fourth and fifth level of the Dawn tier grade. That's was definitely not an option at all.
However, there was one place that wasn't guarded that led to an escape route. That was none other than the kitchen disposal Hatch.
The chefs that cooked food for the guards and the Slaves hardly ever left the kitchen, so therefore, if they ever needed to dispose refuse. They had a vent that was similar to a trash chute back on earth, the trash cute led directly to the sewers which would bring them outside the Slave Silo through a small water current.
However, passing through to the Kitchen was no easy feat. The hallways were patrolled by guards that were either on par or above the level of the guard he just dealt with. Even with his skills and experience, he felt he would at most be able to kill a third level with some luck. He would not try to punch above his weight.
The lifetime experience of the Fallen Angel didn't make him omnipotent, he would need the strength to be able to use it.
"Zander, take off his clothes and put it on".
"Huh". Zander looked at Lucas who had an indifferent expression then looked at the dead guard. "Young master, you want me to wear the clothes of this dead man?"
"Yes, I do".
Seeing his uncomfortable expression, lucas rolled his eyes and sighed before explaining. " We need to get past the various halls to get to the kitchen, according to what I know, our only chance to escape is if we head down the kitchen trash chute".
"Trash chute? What the hell is that?" Although Zander was perturbed, he didn't dare speak and just listened to him. "The hallways have guards patrolling the place so we will be easily spotted. Since we don't have the strength to kill our way out of here, we have to disguise ourselves to get to the kitchen areas".
"Naturally, it would be impossible for me to pass off as a guard so our only option is you. Now I don't want to repeat myself again, whenever I give you an order, carry it out without question. We have already lost a few minutes because of this explanation and by my estimations, we will need at least thirty minutes to head from here to the kitchen including some small difficulties. If the guard comes before we escape, it will all be for nothing, do you understand?"
"Yes, yes" Zander nodded vigorously, "When the young master turn so, domineering?" Zander thought in his heart.
Few minutes later, Zander was fully dressed in the guards uniform, despite that, there were some patches of blood because of the throat cut. However that didn't bother lucas in the slightest. Three were a lot of guards who mistreated slaves and beat them up ruthlessly. As long as the blood was too much, it would not grab attention.
Under the eyes of the rest of the slaves, Zander stood behind lucas and both of them headed to the space hall exit. For a moment, most of the dim lifeless slaves had their eyes lit up. However, it was only for a moment, there had been more than one person who tried to escape from the Slave Silo. Although none of them had utilized this type of tactic, they believed it would end up the same way as usual and anybody who was involved would receive dire punishment.
Lucas felt slightly relieved when he saw this. The last thing he wanted was for a bunch of these guys to start yelling madly for freedom and attract the attention of the higher level guards. Right now he walked ahead of Zander with his head held low while he staggered about like a who was dying from hunger. This was just an act.
They walked through the hallways and soon encountered their first set of patrolling guards, they were four in number and Lucas could sense that they were all fourth level dawn tier stage guards.
"Move you filthy wretch, the Warden needs a new slave and you are busy dilly dallying, I'll skin you alive if you don't move faster".
Zander kicked Lucas who was badly dressed and he staggered and fell to the floor. Lucas didn't raise his head and got up while walking in between the guards, he increased his walking speed a little while Zander snorted and ignored the Silo guards who were still patrolling.
After they were nowhere to be seen, Zander let out a sigh. That was all a plan that his young master had come up with so they won't be questioned on the way, using the wardens name was really effective. Lucas however kept his head low but a smile full of disdain was hung on his lowered lips. How could these idiots actually try and hold ARK 1
ARK 1 was the nickname that he had gotten from his previous life, back on earth as the greatest expert and menace to menaces, his nickname was an abbreviation for All Rounded Killer no 1.
Needless to say, it was very fitting.
They continued with the same trick more than once as they circumvented the hallways, Zander never had to ask for directions as Lucas was ahead and would walk down the way they should go without Zander's asking.
After walking through several halls, Lucas could see the hall heading to the kitchens not far away. His lowered head had a smile, he could finally get out of this place, and everything went so smoothly.
"Hey you, stop right there" however his smile froze after hearing those words.
"Shit", Zander froze as well. They both turned around and saw two guards walking towards them from the opposite end of the hallway.
"Oh oh, not good, not good". Lucas had the lifetime experience of the Fallen angel, he could easily sense the strength of other people as long as they weren't a whole level ahead of him. These two guards were at the Fifth level of The Dawn tier grade.
