Valkron's Vampire God

In what one might call a small office room, Deathly silence permitted the air as an employer and employee stood in front of each other.

His head facing the ground in a small bow and his tie neatly tied was, Fujuzuki as he waited for his somewhat fat boss's response.

Being middle-aged and nearing his thirties, Hinata Fujuzuki had average looks, an average build-he was neither short nor tall, and if not for his highly-assumed-negative demeanor and attitude he would have been the personification of an NPC.

In the eyes of many, Fujuzuki was unrivaled when it came to work, No! He excelled at it to the point where he had never missed a day in the office, it didn't even matter if he was sick or not... or at least that's what they made him believe.

In truth, Fujuzuki was a gullible fool, a fool who would do anything if praised enough, a fool who believed any and every lie fed to him.

So, using this side of him, His fat boss would increase his working hours while his co-workers would pile up all their work on his desk.

Using lies for excuses they turned Fujuzuki and many more just like him in the company into slaves that did as their told, without questions asked.

But... things were different now because for the first time in a decade, Fujuzuki had just requested leave, shocking both his co-workers as well as his boss-the one currently in Infront of him.

"*Cough* Mr. Fujuzuki, am afraid am going to have to decline such a request." this was the not-so-shocking news that came from his boss.

"Huh!?"

"I can't give you leave, Mr. Fujuzuki."

"W-why? Was there anything wrong with my attendance record?"A timid response from Fujuzuki, "O-or is there something I've yet to submit?" and fuel for his boss's amusement.

Raising his head so that he could better understand his boss's reasoning, a wide-almost demon like-grin met Fujuzuki's eyes.

Fujuzuki's face twisted many times, showing the confusion he felt.

"...R-Raito-sama?" at a loss for words, Fujuzuki called out his boss's name.

"Is there something you find amusing!?" he wanted to ask, but as he saw the wide grin on Raito's face widening even more, and his mouth slightly opening, Fujuzuki thought he would be getting his answer soon...

And then, abruptly and completely unexpectedly, loud laughter penetrated his ears, causing him to twist his face In discomfort once more.

"Hahaha... It seems you've yet to grasp the situation you are in..." his boss said, "your attendance was excellent, and it would be a sin to call it anything but perfect, and as for you having an incomplete task how could that be possible with top quality performance like yours?"

"But?" Fujuzuki asked, knowing that it was somewhere in his boss's mouth, waiting to leave at any moment.

"... But that would all change if your leave got approved, wouldn't it? and since we don't want you to ruin your perfect attendance record shouldn't you continue coming to work as usual." this was the lie that came from his boss.

A lie that continued to grow the more his boss opened his mouth, something he did more than often, a lie that was meant to convince, if not to force Fujuzuki to not take leave.

A sudden thought, no, more of a realization than anything came to Fujuzuki at undeniable speed.

"Corporate Slave" He realized, and throughout many occasions, Fujuzuki had come to this conclusion, but he would always brush it off, but at the moment it couldn't have been clearer.

The confidence in his boss's words, the excitement he felt even the smile he had on his face, said: "What a pushover."

A pushover, This was what was thought of Fujuzuki who brazenly listened to his boss's lies.

"Fujuzuki, did a slave like you think they'd get leave? Haha, how delusional are you low lives." these were Raito's true thoughts.

For Fujuzuki who was always quiet and did what everyone asked of him, Raito had thought that he would give up quickly...

But his thoughts were shattered like glass as Fujuzuki, for the first time tried resisting.

"But...Sir, I need this leave." He said and with that, he had once again fueled his boss's rage.

His boss's expression went slightly red as veins grew on his fists, and while screaming his lungs out, his boss responded "There are no buts Fujuzuki, I want you here first thing tomorrow got that!?"

His boss's words and intentions were very clear, but even so, Fujuzuki needed the leave as he had planned to visit his dying mother.

Fujuzuki only received word recently that his mother was soon to pass, and for a person raised by a single parent... Fujuzuki wanted to be there for his mother.

This was what had been fueling him, "Sir. like I was saying..."

But to his boss, Fujuzuki just seemed like a brat that wouldn't do as he was told, after all, Raito was the type of person who would only listen to his side of the story.

Now his boss's slightly red face went completely red as the veins in his hands were about to pop.

"FUJUZUKI!! Don't you understand what am saying... I want you here first thing tomorrow or your fired, got that!?!?!"In his boss's fit of rage, Fujuzuki was rendered mute.

He silently stood there as his boss continued cursing and yelling at him, and with the way things were, Fujuzuki resembled prey that was in front of a predator.

The prey was ready to be devoured at any second now.

Moments later, Fujuzuki left his boss's office and as he did so, His eyes were fixated on the ground.

Walking from the office to his station, Fujuzuki felt the stares, heard the voices, and caught glimpses of the sinister smiles of his colleagues who showered him with ridicule and gossip.

This was yet another night for Fujuzuki, and this was going to be one of the slowest ones.
