摘要

When the past resurfaces, will love conquer all? Joi's life was already complicated—caught in a contract engagement with Adrian, a man whose coldness has made her wonder if she'll ever break through his icy exterior. But after their second kiss, feelings she never expected to surface begin to creep in. Just when she thought things might change, a new twist emerges. Sophia, the woman from Adrian's past—the one he's never stopped searching for—returns, turning Joi's world upside down. Adrian’s reaction is cold, but the moment he lays eyes on Sophia, everything changes. Passion, unspoken history, and raw emotion flood the room, leaving Joi questioning her place in Adrian’s life. But Sophia’s return isn’t the only storm on the horizon. Shane, a man who has never hidden his attraction to Joi, now has his sights set on winning her heart. Will his persistence tear apart the fragile connection she’s started to build with Adrian? As Joi’s heart battles between love and heartbreak, a much darker truth about her past threatens to surface. Abandoned by both parents and forced to hide her true identity, Joi has learned to fight alone. But now, with Debbie scheming to ruin Joi’s relationship and her past lurking around every corner, will Joi find peace—or will the shadows of her history claim her future? Chapter 1Chapter 1: A Fresh Start

Joi's world tilted on its axis the moment she stepped into Café Amore. The morning light streaming through the window highlighted the dark circles under her eyes, a testament to her sleepless night. She took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for the day ahead – a new job, a new start, and a chance to leave her past behind.

Emily, her best friend and roommate, had landed her this opportunity as a personal assistant to Adrian, the enigmatic CEO of Valorum Motors. Emily handed her a steaming cup of coffee, her eyes sparkling with encouragement. "You're going to crush it, Joi," she said, her voice filled with conviction. "You're organized, efficient, and gorgeous. What more could he ask for?"

Joi rolled her eyes, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Easy for you to say, Em," she teased, trying to lighten the mood. "You're the one with the stable job and decent paycheck. I'm just winging it."

Emily's expression softened, her eyes filled with empathy. "We're in this together, Joi," she said, her voice gentle. "We've come a long way since... everything. You got this."

The past still lingered, a shadow Joi couldn't shake. But with Emily's support, she'd found a sense of purpose. "Thanks to you, I'm living comfortably," she said, smiling. "But this job... I don't know, Em. I don't know anything about cars."

"Doesn't matter," Emily replied. "Adrian doesn't need an assistant for the company; he needs someone for himself. And trust me, Joi, you'll figure it out."

Joi took a deep breath, smoothing her dress as she mentally prepared herself for the meeting. "Time to meet the boss," she said, trying to sound more confident than she felt. As they pulled up to the Valorum Motors building, her heart skipped a beat.

The sleek, modern structure towered above them, its glass and steel façade glinting in the morning light. The building seemed to hum with energy, a palpable sense of power and innovation emanating from within. Emily wrapped Joi in a warm hug, her eyes shining with encouragement. "You got this, Joi," she whispered, before giving her a gentle nudge toward the entrance.

Inside, the receptionist, a polished woman with a bright smile, greeted her warmly and led her to Adrian's office, her heels clicking on the marble floor. And then, she saw him.

The door swung open, and Joi stepped into the spacious office, her eyes adjusting to the bright light. Adrian stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, his broad shoulders silhouetted against the sunlight streaming in. As he turned to face her, his chiseled features and piercing gaze took her breath away. His eyes seemed to bore into hers, as if sizing her up.

"Joi," he said, his deep voice low and smooth, sending shivers down her spine. "Welcome to Valorum Motors. I'm Adrian," he added, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled.

Joi extended her hand, trying to appear confident despite the butterflies in her stomach. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Adrian," she said, trying to sound professional.

Adrian's eyes sparkled with amusement as he smiled, his handshake firm but not crushing. "Please, call me Adrian," he said, his voice low and smooth. "We'll be spending a lot of time together, Joi. I'm looking forward to it."

As their hands touched, a jolt of electricity ran through Joi, leaving her skin tingling. She quickly withdrew her hand, feeling a flush rise to her cheeks as she struggled to process the unexpected sensation. "What will my duties entail, Adrian?" she asked, trying to sound more confident than she felt.

Adrian's expression remained impassive, his eyes narrowing slightly as he spoke. "We'll discuss your duties later," he said, his voice firm and detached. "For now, let's just say you'll be attending to my needs."

Joi nodded, her eyes locked on Adrian's impassive face. His gaze seemed to bore into hers, as if sizing her up. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that she was now deeply entwined in his world. Little did she know, her life was about to take a drastic turn, one that would challenge everything she thought she knew about herself.

Adrian's gaze flicked to a sleek, black desk in the corner of the room. "That'll be your workstation," he stated, his voice devoid of emotion. "You'll be responsible for managing my schedule, screening my emails, and attending to other tasks as I deem necessary."

She fidgeted with her blouse, smoothing out nonexistent wrinkles. What had possessed her to take this job? The answer echoed in her mind: Emily's sacrifices and their shared struggles.

Time ticked by, and she grew restless. Why had Adrian chosen her, a stranger with no experience in the automotive industry? Was it merely a whim?

Suddenly, the office door swung open, and Adrian strode out. His piercing gaze swept over her, his expression unreadable. "Joi," he said curtly, "follow me."

She trailed behind him, her heart racing. As they walked to a sleek black sedan parked nearby, Adrian's silence was oppressive, making her feel like an accessory rather than an assistant.

The cityscape blurred outside her window as Adrian's silence enveloped them. His gaze remained fixed on the road, his expression unreadable. She hesitated to break the silence, unsure of the unspoken rules that governed their interactions.

As they arrived back at the office, Adrian turned to her and said, "I have a meeting with the marketing team. Attend and take notes."

In the conference room, Adrian's demeanor shifted. He became commanding, confident, and authoritative. Joi took a seat at the back, notebook and pen at the ready, scribbling notes furiously.

During the meeting, Adrian's phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and handed it to her. "Handle this," he said curtly. The caller was Rachel, his work assistant.

"Hi, Joi. Mr. Adrian needs you to confirm his schedule for tomorrow," she said. Joi nodded, taking mental notes. "I'll make sure to check."

As the meeting concluded, Adrian gathered his papers and turned to her. "Joi, I need you to arrange a dinner meeting with the Smiths for tonight." Joi nodded, her pen poised over her notebook. "What time would you like the dinner meeting to be, Adrian?" she asked, trying to sound confident and efficient.

As she finished taking notes, Adrian's gaze lingered on her, his expression unreadable. "Let's go," he said, already striding out. Joi hastened to keep up, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation for what lay ahead.

Say hello to Sonia and Bryan. Sonia's heart stopped beating for a second, and then different thoughts started flying right through her head at that same time. Bryan Hank? Her celebrity crush was kneeling right in front of her and asking her to be his wife? Was he mistaking her for someone? Was it possible this was a skit, or maybe this was like one of those celebrity pranks, and there were cameras around, waiting to capture her make a fool of herself? Or perhaps she was dreaming? Sonia wondered as she looked around them, but all she saw were curious onlookers. "Please! Be my wife and make me the happiest man on Earth," He said in a very loud voice that caught the attention of everyone. Her editor who she had been waiting on for over an hour because he was trying to sign a deal with a movie producer who was interested in one of her stories, showed up at that moment, "Sonia, you know Bryan Hank?" Her editor asked in genuine surprise as he watched the scene before him. It seemed like an hour had passed since Bryan went on his knees, but it had only been a minute. Bryan knew no lady would be crazy enough to accept such a crazy proposal, and even if any were, paying her off and calling off the whole thing would be easy since all he wanted was the scandal that could come from this. The headlines were either going to be about his rejected Marriage proposal or his supposed engagement, which would be enough to let Sophia off the hook. "Yes!" Sonia said as she bobbed her head excitedly and extended her finger for him to wear her the ring. "Yes?" Bryan asked in confusion when he heard her response. "Yes! I will be your wife and make you the happiest man in the world!" Sonia said with a giggle and wiggled her fingers until Bryan slid the ring down her finger. Surprisingly the ring was her exact size, and it sat on her finger like it was made just for her. The sound of applause erupted all around them as Sonia stood up with a big smile on her face and embraced Bryan before kissing him right on the lips. Bryan was slightly taken aback by her boldness but quickly recovered since this was his game, and he had to play along. He was the one who had approached her first, after all. So when she tried to break the kiss, he held her chin and slowly nibbled on her lower lip before parting her lips with his tongue and sucked on it in a teasing manner, eliciting a moan from Sonia. Sonia felt light-headed. This was too good to be true. It just had to be a dream. How else could she explain that one moment she was seated at the lobby of a hotel waiting for her editor, and the next she was engaged to her celebrity crush and was kissing him right here in the open? Although it was a mere few steps, time seemed to stretch for Nora. When he was almost within touching distance, his hand gently landed on her knee, moving it sideways. His touch moved with a hint of a caress, and he stepped between her open legs. Nora sat there in frozen silence, her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. Catching her chin between his fingers, he tilted her face upwards and spoke unhurriedly," You are my wife." She nodded her head slowly in affirmation while his thumb slowly traced her lip. "I have given you time to gather your emotions." Another nod. Nora's nervousness made her lick her lips, acutely aware of his intense gaze fixed upon them. "Your reason for the marriage was to secure your inheritance and get away from under your mother's thumb." "Yes..." Nora whispered in confusion. Her confusion was not about his statement but about the bewildering sensations coursing through her. What was happening with her? "It's time for you to fulfil your end of the contract, yes?" All those tantalizing, heart-pounding kisses she had read about in novels were about to possibly become her reality. But the anticipated kiss didn't happen. Instead, he paused near her and commanded, "Kiss me."

His Naughty Lessons

[ Caution: High Heat Advisory ] “Harper, stop undressing me with your eyes. The plot isn’t going that way… YET.” Harper McKenzie, a newbie web novel author, has a problem — she struggles with romance scenes. As someone with almost nonexistent real-life experience in the matter, she can’t get the intimate chemistry right, and those chapters always come out dry and cringy. Fortunately for her, Harper finds a freelance editor willing to workshop her writing. But the surprise? That editor turns out to be her childhood friend and the very first crush of her life. What happens now when he offers her personal lessons on how to write the hottest romance … and love scenes? -------------- Note: this is a fun, cozy, sweet story with a low-drama plot. No love triangles, no misunderstandings, no memory loss / car accidents / terminal illnesses / etc.. Mature content abounds, starting out soft but heats up quickly. You’ve been warned! -------------- Sneak Peek: He slid her bra over her shoulders and, with impossibly quick and skilled work, tied the lacy garment around her wrists. “Spread your legs wider,” he ordered. Harper’s already faltering heartbeat faltered some more. The command in his tone was foreign, but it crashed over her like a heat wave, and even though she could barely begin to picture how salacious she must look, with her hands bound and thighs spread wide like an offering to be ravished, she could feel the scorching need coiling hotter and hotter in her core. Her body obeyed eagerly on its own accord, bringing herself fully open just like she was told. Eli grinned. Moving between her legs, he trailed hot kisses along her inner thigh, leaving sizzling little fires crackling in its wake. “Good girl. Now, what should your character say next?” A finger glided over her wet and wanting flesh in a slippery stroke, making her heart slam to a hard stop as a moan tore free. “Write the next line for me, what should I say before I unravel you with my tongue and make you scream my name?”
