The White Dove

October night on Saturday at 11.33 pm, the guitar strumming sound was so loud with a mixture of melodies heard from the bedroom of an apartment, only the bed lamp was half dim that this night was quiet. An incoming message from Sophie sounded from the phone next to the guitar

" My love, Asa! Let's have lunch tomorrow. I miss you." Write Sophie.

A slight smile of flowering marks appeared on my face, "With all pleasure, princess!" I replied.

My eyes get stuck to the bed lamp. I see the light is fading--yeah! It's fading-- the fading lights like talking to me, it says, "until when you isolate yourself here in this room?" the sound is so clear--yeah, it's clear--.

Meanwhile, thunder rumbled behind the wall, followed by heavy rain. I hurriedly closed the window to block the rain from getting in, then went back to bed and took a diagnosis paper that the doctor gave me. Once again, I get stuck with this freaking paper. I still can't believe that I got Cancer.

A moment later, the night sweats that always came out in the last couple of days made me even more worried, plus the temperature that often rose made me cold erratically. Tonight, all these symptoms feel so differently. This dizziness is very severe like my brain is about to explode.

Amid all the turmoil in my body, I imagined those beautiful days I had spent with Sophie. I had no one but her--only her--. Every second that passed with her seemed so meaningful. I'm still keeping this a secret from Sophie. All the fears that came to my mind have to blind me tonight. I felt dry in my throat that strangle my neck. I tried to reach the water on the table next to my bed. But I can't, My body died. Oh god, everything gets blurry. I lost my look, followed by my consciousness slowly.

At the same time another space, Sophie is very excited about their lunch tomorrow. She is still picking the dress she will wear tomorrow to meet her love, Asa. She feels flowery so bad after didn't meet her lover for a couple of months. " Ah, it would be nice if I wear this yellow one, at least better than wearing my old dress." Telling it to herself.

Certainly, Sophie didn't meet Asa for over eight months. She was so busy with her work as an archeologist. On the last met, she went to a river park with Asa, and the conversation through so well within the good vibes of sunset was a wonderful evening. They spent time together as if nothing could stop them. Nor does anything disturb them from having their favorite ice cream and singing together with Asa playing the guitar--he is a guitarist-- plus he has a great voice as a musician. All the characteristics and personality that he had; made Sophie fall so deep into the valley of love.

Back in time now, there's a step behind Sophie's room. Knock-knock, "Sophie! Are you there in honey?." Interrupted Jessie behind the door. " Yeah, mom! I'm still preparing what I wear for lunch with Asa." Answer Sophie. " I'm so sorry to interrupt you, honey! We need to join our family meeting at your grandma's house. "Can you please cancel your lunch with Asa tomorrow? We could be there this time because this event is once per year! Especially, since we didn't join them last year. I didn't mean this intentionally, honey." Explained Jessie. Sophie feels upset about this because it's been so long since her didn't meet Asa, but she can't deny her mom's request because she has rarely been with her mom too. " Yeah, mom! I will tell Asa about pending the lunch." Sophie replied with sluggishness. They expect this to be a great night for both of them. But hold on. The timeline flipped reality. Everything goes out of expectations.

00.09 Am.

The weather goes bad. Suddenly, the gale hit the windows of Asa's room.--Prummmm, The glass was broken by the gale--. Asa got shocked by the bluster--his body half died--.

"Help! Oh, God! What a great nightmare. Hu-hu-hu-hu." Shout Asa with his last energy a while before he faints.

In time, some neighbors heard Asa shout--it was so loud-- and he up to check on him. When he got there, he saw Asa fall drenched in sweat. Quickly, he contacts the hospital. Asa and his heartbeat get slow.

Asa still fainted at the hospital. But he is rescued now because the ambulance came on time." Mr. Sion! Thankfully, he survived. Thanks for contacting the hospital as that soon." Concluded the doctor.

"All fine, Mr. Doctor! I'm so concerned about this patient because I know he was very close as a guy. He lives alone in apartments. I've never seen any member of his family or mate coming there. It's so hard to live alone like him. I can't help him more than this because my family is waiting for me at the house." explained Mr. Sion.

07.05 am

Asa wakes from fainting. He wonders why he is at the hospital. Asa tries to move his body--no, his body is still stiff-- the tears stream down his face. He never got this hard before. Asa has lived alone since a teenager. Currently, he is 29 years old.

"Oh, shit! I'm so empty and lost, so weak. I can't even fight this disease. I can feel it, that time is near--my time is very close--, I knew it. All I feel now is only guilt. I can't even take care of Sophie. Arghhh, Hu-hu-hu. My name is Asa. I Promise myself! If there's a chance for me to live once again, I will keep Sophie with all my soul." promised Asa if given a second chance.

The sun started to rise. Sophie and her mom will soon go to grandma's house. "Are you ready? We have to arrive there before dawn." Said Jessie. The suitcase and bag were packed. They are ready to go.

A while before now, a cup of bitter coffee with a piece of sandwich blends. It was Sophie's favorite daily breakfast.

Sophie was so worried about Asa. She is trying to call him several times and spamming messages but no answer. Sophie hunched that there was something wrong. She is wondering why this feeling is so strange--unusual feeling--. While stirring the coffee, she finds Asa's face on the cup--it is a sad expression--.

Suddenly, mom pats Sophie's shoulder and "Why are you dreamy and look so sad, honey?."

"I was thinking about Asa, mom! He is so strange nowadays as he tries to hide something from me. And this morning, he doesn't update me on anything. My intuition is strong. I extremely believe it." she said, her voice trailing off.

Intuition

Sophie's intuition. Since she was a child, she can hear far sounds from miles distances; so she is experimental about everything. Once upon a time, Sophie escapes to a forest to explore and research anything old; plants, specifically, Etc. Her love and passion for old things are indeed worthy of thumbs-up.

But, her ability to hear far sounds is uncontrollable yet; she doesn't know this yet. After graduating from high school, Sophie continued her study in the archeology department; Her track record of study is impressive; she won many scientific events and contests. In college, lots of guys crush on Sophie. How come, Instead of being smart, her beauty can attract anyone's eyes; it is such a perfect combination.

One sunny morning, Sophie rushed to campus using public transportation. At that time, there were only a few passengers on the bus. A man with a yellow jacket was sitting directly opposite Sophie. The young man didn't stop staring at Sophie with blank stare. She didn't notice at first, but when the bus started to move, she realized that the man was staring at her. Do you think this person must be staring with an alluring gaze? Not. This man just stared emptily. As seen, the man is carrying a 3x4 guitar on his lap. The man is a musician without emotions. This man's gaze looks very pitiful. Indeed, the man is lost. Being stared at by a stranger is annoying in any place! But not for Sophie this time. Sophie was curious about this man, so she dared to ask,

" Excuse me, sir! Why are you staring at me from the first time I got on the bus? Is there something wrong with me? " The man didn't answer and was still staring at Sophie with an empty stare. Bus stop, right in front of campus. Sophie wondered to herself about the man.

The next day. As usual, Sophie went to campus by bus. The same thing happened again, the man with the yellow jacket sitting opposite Sophie. Today, the way he stares was different.

The friendly gaze seems like this guy is a different person. Bus stop, Sophie descended towards the gates of her campus. Suddenly, someone grabs Sophie's hand. That was the guy. Sophie was very shocked by what he did.

"What's wrong with you, sir? and why have you been bothering me since yesterday?" Affirm Sophie with an angry tone. "No! Nothing is wrong with me. I was just so amazed at you. I feel like I've met you somewhere. Either in the past or the future. But I firmly believe in this feeling. It's called intuition." The man in the yellow jacket replied. Sophie was so confused. This man was very similar to someone he had met in a dream. The way he talks and the way he moves. All seems so familiar. "Excuse me, sir! What is your name?" Ask Sophie with curiosity. "Asa. Yeah. My name is Asa." replied the guy. "I just can't believe this!" Sophie was so shocked.

Sophie's memory

Sophie read a book about destiny. The book tells Sophie will meet someone named Asa. The stature of Asa is relevant to what she saw in the current times. Sophie's memory was not just an image. But it's real. All things have happened in the past and the future.

Currently, mom is still there, looking at Sophie. Mom tries to reassure Sophie about the situation. " No worries too much, dear!" Jessie reassured Sophie while patting her on the shoulder while driving the car.

Dinner starts

It begins, and all family has gathered at the party. A spacious room studded with knick-knacks makes the event looks so rouse. The large table becomes the middleman that forms the family circle. Delicious and luxurious fete is appetizing to the people, and wine is ready to be toasted. The event was going on so well. Everyone was busy enjoying the party. Sophie went out of the room to a small warehouse. Dusty old room. Everything in this warehouse is very precious; books, sculptures, etc.

Suddenly, there are footsteps outside, "What are you doing here? Why are you leaving the party?" asked Sophie's grandmother looking pissed. No one has entered this warehouse before. " am, no grandma! I was so curious about this room. This room was unattended and not maintained. Everything here is very precious. Why is this all left until it's dusty?" Sophie answered while hiding a small suitcase behind her. Grandma didn't realize Sophie was hiding something.

" Hmm, I agreed with you! But, I'm too old even to take care of myself. So now, let's go back to the room and join them." They returned to the party's room.

The party had been going on for so long and was almost over. The party is over. Curiosity about the suitcase brings Sophie back to the warehouse. She got it.

Sunday, 06.07 am.

Sophie and her mom are leaving grandma's house. Sophie was in a hurry to meet Asa. She expects to spend time all time with Asa like they used to. The longing that was so intense piled up in Sophie's heart; her mind only Asa.

Sophie hurried off to Asa's apartment, Sophie got there, and she found out that no one was there. Mr. Sion came to approach Sophie.

" Excuse me! Did you know Asa?" Asked Mr. Sion.

" I'm his girlfriend. Do you know where Asa is? I was wondering why his room got this messy." Answered Sophie with a worried tone.

"Huft, ok well, I will tell you about all that happened to Asa last night...

After she heard what Mr. Sion said, the tears stream down Sophie's face with her stiff body. All worries pop-ups in her mind were the truth.

"Sir! can you please take me where Asa is now!??? I'm so down for sure!" tell Sophie with sluggishness.

And then, Mr. Sion took Sophie to the hospital. After Mr. Sion shows her where Asa's room is, Sophie ran as fast as she could without noticing anything. How shocked she is! She found Asa lying on the nursing bed, she cried so bad that her voice stuttered.

"Hu-hu -hu--what happened to you baby--hu-hu-hu--why all this happened--hu-hu-hu--hwaaaaaa--baby---please, wake up, wake up, wake up, don't leave me, I can't through it all without you, please don't leave me, please!!! Sophie mourns Asa's death. She felt so guilty about canceling the lunch that she could change with this big deal. Sophie's heart was just broken into pieces. She cried over Asa's body, which had been motionless for hours. Sophie ran out of all her energy from crying and she finally fainted...
