Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

A brief knock on the door announced the arrival of our items.

I was excited and wanted to follow Killian and stand up, but he gestured for me to stay seated. Of course, Miss Mezzanotte must be dignified and aloof to worldly matters.

A short and chubby man entered first, followed by two tall men with matching straight noses, phoenix eyes, and receding hairlines. Definitely twins.

Three of them wore golden outfits with red embroidery. If their intention was to give off a rich-and-tacky vibe, it was working.

All three bowed, and the short man spoke, "Master Killian."

Killian snorted. "It seems your eyes are betraying you with age, Master Juhi." Killian's words were full of contempt.

The man looked at Killian in confusion.

"Please, educate me, Master Killian."
