Josh who is the son from a wealthy family but is in hiding, gets humiliated by his in laws. His wife files for a divorce and so he grants her wish. But now, Josh's identity is getting revealed and his in law needs his help. "Please, we will do anything! Help.us." "I'm busy right now. Please leave." Josh said firmly. It's time to show them who the real boss is.
"Girls, please throw this man out before I call security. I won't let him touch my poor husband!" Margaret scrunched her nose with detest.
Josh saw that the ladies were looking frustrated already and he didn't want any sort of conflict to rise. He stepped forward.
"You think I'm a quack, don't you?" He said to Margaret who immediately scoffed in disbelief.
"Of course you are! My poor step daughters are so desperate that they've called someone like you here. It's so disappointing, really." Margaret said.
"Good. I will quickly examine you and give you one of two possible ailments that might be wrong with you." Josh said confidently. That wasn't the first time he would hear people doubt his skills before.
Margaret threw her head back and roared in laughter. "What makes you think I have any sickness? Or is it...an ailment you called it?" She laughed again, mocking his tone.
Because Josh was not from New York originally, he had a strong British accent that was rather pleasant to hear. Every of his pronunciation were always so carefully presented.
"It's a pity a fine young handsome man like you would have to sleep in jail for a long time." Margaret rolled her eyes.
"Firstly," Josh ignored her drama and dived right ahead on his speculations. He had never been wrong before, and that was what made him confident he could shame Margaret.
"The color of your eyes is saying a lot." He stepped closer. "Just stay still and let me prove you wrong. Now, around your normal brown eyes, there's this gray ring circled around your pupils. Which is a clear indication that your eyes are unhealthy."
Suddenly, Margaret choked on the words to say. Her eyes...he could tell just by looking at her eyes?? She had a condition and was recently diagnosed just a few months back. And she had been undergoing treatments but she kept on getting scared she might go blind if all medications failed to work!
But still, she was not willing to accept so easily and give in to defeat.
She rolled her eyes, hoping he had not seen the fear that had consumed her now. "That's it--"
"Will you keep put? I'm not done." Josh said strictly, and went on. "It's called Senilis. A terrible condition that often goes together with high triglycerides and cholesterol. These health conditions can increase your risk for stroke and heart disease."
Those were nearly the exact same words the doctors had said to her!
"Also, you should drink more water and sleep well as these dark patches under your eyes are not looking good for your health." Josh concluded.
By now, he had gotten the pleasing look in her eyes and could tell he'd been right.
"Now, I want to carry on and I don't expect any distraction from you. Now that you can see I am not a quack." He Ignored whatever response she would give and went straight on to check on Mr. Sanchez.
After a while, Josh turned to the sisters and signaled for them to come closer. "His condition is slightly worse than I imagined. But he'll be fine. I need you to perform an experiment."
Sofia blinked. "Experiment?"
"We'll treat him together. For now, you will check his blood pressure reading so we can monitor it for a few days. Keep the reading recorded somewhere and then let me know. I'll be right back to administer some potion to him made from simple herbs." He said before taking his leave.
He waited outside and dialed his uncle's number. "I'll be needing some celery seeds, garlic, Chinese cat's claw and bacopa monnieri. I'm sharing my location with you now."
Shortly after, a delivery came for Josh at the hospital and he went back to the room where the Sanchez were.
"What's the reading?" He asked as he brought out his herbs and began mixing in the right consistency before going ahead to pound in his mortal. His uncle had also sent him a full pack of items like the mortal and tiny bottles where he would pour the resulted potion.
"178/96 mmhg." Isadora announced.
(In general standards, this reading is very high as it's close to 180/90 mmhg, which is critical already. Normal state should be around 120/80 mmhg).
"Okay, I'll administer this to him. Make him drink it now, then by night again. I'll make six in total. Give him one every morning and night. I'll be here tomorrow so we can check his blood pressure again." Josh said to them.
"Thank you so much!" The sisters said together.
On his way out, Sofia volunteered to see him off and fetch a taxi to drop him at the hotel.
"There's a plant Mr. Derek had mentioned you had a special interest in finding some toothache plants." Sofia asked.
"You know where I can find them?" Josh quickly asked.
"That'll be a bonus payment once my dad is fine. I promise you!" Sofia said with a smile on her face.
Josh arrived at his hotel and suddenly felt that he was tired. He had had a long day after all. It still felt strange that he was now a single man after being married to Hannah for three years. He felt empty and somehow depressed.
All he wanted was to enjoy a refreshing bath and have a nice meal. Then sleep for now, until he would find out what to do with himself later on.
By the counter, he said to the woman there that he was heading to his room. But the disgusted look she gave him soon irked him.
"What do you mean you have a reservation at a huge hotel like this?" She was chewing her gum and rolling her long lashes at him.
Josh sighed. "I have made my reservations. I have a room there with all my stuff in it. Can't you just check on your registry there?"
The lady looked displeased. In her defense, she had to do a lot of shameless acts before she was hired as a staff at the hotel. And seeing someone so casual as Josh enter made her angry.
She knew ordinary people shouldn't be allowed in a seven star hotel like that, and was so annoyed she decided that Josh was only trying to prank her.
"You're wasting my time here. Hurry up and give me my keys." Josh insinuated.
"I'll check now, and if I don't find your name here, I'm calling the security on you this instance!" The lady said at last. Then she went ahead and asked for his name.
"Josh. Josh Brooks." He said. Josh realized the lady's loud voice had attracted unwanted looks from people around, and he hated that.
"There is no Josh Brooks here. See, I told you you're a fraud! Security!" The lady screamed out.
