JANELLE'S POINT OF VIEW

I wasted no time before I scampered to my room. I entered and slammed the door behind me loudly.

My heart was heavy with the cruel words the Alpha Prince and the conflicting emotions in my heart.

On one hand, the knowledge that he was my mate filled me with a sense of excitement and anticipation. After all, he was undeniably handsome and the alpha Prince.

But on the other hand, his arrogance and the fact that his father killed my parents made me second guess everything.

I sighed, collapsing unto my bed. I really wanted to get my revenge and poison the Alpha King then leave, but that would mean forsaking my mate.

And one only gets a mate once. Meaning, I would be lonely and unhappy forever and miss out on the chance to become an Alpha Princess and then…a Luna.

Obviously, the right choice was to stay behind and pursue my mate's bond with the Alpha Prince. Revenge would come later.

I got up on my feet and made my way to my wardrobe. I had to talk to the alpha Prince then. He had not shown any sign of him feeling the mate bond, so maybe he was too mad to me to acknowledge him.

I had to apologize for the accident with the tea, for any misunderstandings that may have arisen between us.

I didn't have many dresses and the ones I had were quite shabby fpr and Alpha Prince's taste, but I would make do. I settled on a simple blue dress and put it on.

Taking a deep breath to steady my nerves, I made my way out of our quarters and headed towards the Alpha Prince's chambers.

As I approached the Alpha Prince's door, my heart pounded with nervous anticipation.

I raised my hand to knock, but before my knuckles could make contact with the wood, the door swung open with a creak.

There, standing before me, was the Alpha Prince, holding a woman in his arms on the bed.

My breath caught in my throat as I took in the scene before me, my jaw falling open. I stood frozen in the doorway as I observed — to which they were oblivious to.

The woman's hair was a cascade of golden waves and her eyes were a mesmerizing shade of emerald green and she gazed up at the Alpha Prince with adoration.

She was beautiful and the way she smiled at him…the way he smiled back at her.

The Alpha Prince already had another mate.

I let out a scream that tore through the silence of the room like a thunderclap.

The girl out of shock, jumped out of his arms and the Alpha King turned to face me.

His brows furrowed immediately and a scowl came on his face, "What are you doing here?" he thundered, his words echoing through the room with a force that made me flinch. "You have no right to barge in uninvited, interrupting my time with my mate. Explain yourself, now!"

My throat felt dry as I struggled to find the words to respond, "I-I'm your mate," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper as I met his gaze with pleading eyes. "I know it may seem sudden, but I felt the spark between us….my wolf cried mate and I couldn't stay away. Please, just hear me out. I was hoping we could talk about it and you would acce—"

But instead of the understanding and acceptance I had hoped for, the Alpha Prince's expression hardened with disdain and disbelief. His lips curled into a sneer as he came down from the bed and took a step forward.

"You?" he scoffed, "Me accept you as my mate? Don't make me laugh. I would never be mated to someone as insignificant as you." he chuckled darkly.

"I reject you as my mate!" He declared and my eyes widened. The pain of his rejection hit me with such force that it felt like a physical blow, knocking the breath from my lungs and leaving me gasping for air.

"Leave this place at once, before I have you thrown out!" He yelled.

With the fierce scowl still etched upon his features, he didn't even wait a moment for me to answer and he yelled, "Guards!" he bellowed, the guards, standing at attention just outside the door, rushed forward.

"Get this insolent intruder out of my sight! Show her no mercy."

The guards nodded and their grip was firm and unyielding as they seized me by the arms, their fingers digging into my flesh with an iron grip.

I fell to my knees before the Alpha Prince, "Please," I begged, my voice trembling with emotion. "I-I didn't mean to intrude. I'm so sorry. I thought—"

His face remained stoic and impassive and he looked down at me with disdain. He took a step back, his lip curling in disgust as he motioned towards the guards standing nearby.

"Take this maid away and don't make me repeat myself," he commanded.

The guards, obeying his orders without hesitation dragged me on the ground.

I struggled against them, "Please, no!" I cried, "Please, don't do this!"

But my pleas fell on deaf ears as the guards dragged me away. The tears fell from eyes as I was pushed outside of the room and the door was shut behind me.

The guards let go of my hands and I dropped to the floor with a thud, I heard the Alpha Prince and his…mate laughing from inside the room.

The ache in my heart throbbed even more.

What was I going to do now?
