The Requiem of an Emperor

ANNOUNCEMENT [STILL SHAMELESS AUTHOR HERE] This novel will be undergoing editing to accommodate a writing style that is a tad easier to read. It might've been too ambitious of me to use uncommon words, but I used them without being considerate to my readers. I write for fun and use whatever words that registered in my mind along the writing process. I'm also considering to elucidate on each character first before introducing them, since I recognize that having a lot of characters is quite confusing. Introducing them early without letting the readers get to know them is a tad petty of me. I know that this novel isn't one of the best, not even qualified to enter the hallmark, but I will do my best in relaying the story in a way that looks satisfying. Just a bit of warning: I won't incorporate Harem in this novel. However, bear in mind that an Emperor will have a set of concubines, though their roles are not siginificant in my story. (Please read the auxiliary chapters ;_;)

With all honesty, I’ve heard rumours of mrmrcia’s use of grammar and how awesome the author’s English skills are, so I prepared myself into reading this with my reading glasses on, a thesaurus and a dictionary open and ready under my fingers, mentally prepped to be wowed out of my mind - I wasn’t disappointed. This is some high fantasy level writing right here. Beautiful prose, vivid imagery and quite immersive even though challenging words are used. And even then it is not disruptive to the reading flow itself. The more difficult words are used in tangent with common phrases, so one can easily grasp the meaning behind it. Very smooth, fluid scene changes and prose. I loved it. I love high fantasy prose, and this one just hits all the right spots for me. The story so far is still in the developing phase as we get to see the world through the councils’ and the emperor’s speech and thought, but it looks promising. Very carefully crafted history and world. Even better, I imagined Cate Blanchett narrating this with her voice to me and it’s just – awesome. :D Hats off to the author, I loved the prose, love the character names, although with all honesty – I had no idea what the chapter names meant before reaching the author’s notes, but they cool, so I don’t mind it. :D This is one of those novels that I love to read in peace and quiet with a hot steaming cup of tea and all the time to spare. High fantasy novels demand me to fully immerse myself in the story, savouring each word and phrase like a sour candy – it hits you hard, but you’ll love every second of it.

When I start reading a novel I want to relax and feel the flow of words in my mind while a vivid picture of the events I'm reading about forms ...this novel feel a bit like trying to read a contract or something...it takes to much energy and focus to descifre what the author wants to say and it breaks the immersion

First of all, I would like to say. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT WORK. I rarely give five stars, which I would like to give for this well-written novel. Author Mrmrcia, with her vivid imaginary and a very intriguing plot, which would let the readers want to read every chapter as soon as they come out; has embellished this novel's scenario and characters with a diverse number of words. I'm amazed by the way of her narrating the story, chaining the scene with the roles of characters and delineating the atmosphere in her delicately made fantasy world. In this novel, After I have re-read, My favourite character is still The first seat, Mikhail. [I will not discuss about him here for spoiler reasons]. As an avid reader (Author too?) of high fantasy novels, I would highly recommend readers to try it out. I've and am enjoying this novel and I would hope you would do too. Well, that's it from me, just read it if you wanna know more.

WOW, this is a marvellous story! First, I have to point out the story is written professionally and with a high diversity of words and descriptions, making it a wonderful read. Second, wonderful informative titles in each chapter showing the amount of effort the author had put into the work. The plot is well-paced and very interesting. There are times when you believe something and the reality is different, making the story more suspenseful. The characters are dynamic, very easy to imagine and well described. The world-building is done with detail and is revealed in bite-size chunks, making it easy to digest. Overall, a superb Novel! Well done with a quality work!

The world that the author built is really extensive. I'm still trying to get used to the terms but it's amazing that author created it. The way the story is written really fits the setting that it's really formal and the extent of dialogues makes it feel like it's really a conversation among knights and rulers and nobles. The empress has yet to speak and I wish that she's the only woman in the emperor's life. I'm learning while I'm reading this story. I can't wish for anything more.

The first thing that came into my mind after checking the glossary is the the may be obsessed with world building The naming and details of various things is really well thought of I don't know if you have already created a language around it

I have read quite a few chapters of this book now. I gotta say, it's really interesting. The writing is amazing, with a large vocabulary of words and superb grammar, which makes it a joy to read. I love how the story unfolds itself, revealing new information to the reader. It is accompanied with lovely twists and cliffhangers that urges you to keep reading. The multiple point of views between characters that are in different locations definitely keeps it fresh. It shows that the author has put a lot of thought and effort into it. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good fantasy book with intriguing characters ^_^

Writing Quality: Besides the Western novels I've read, this novel might come close to that, when it comes to the author's vocabulary or use of words. This truly deserved a 5-star, great job! Stability of Updating: 5-star for quality over quantity! Story Development: This has been a great read, can't wait for more chapters. 'Cause I'm really interested in this novel! Another 5-star! Character Design: I wanted to give this a 5-star but I would like to learn more about the characters. There's also a lot of characters so it's a little difficult for me to remember all of them, my apologies. I have a little suggestion, you could make an auxiliary chapter about the characters. 4-star for now because there's no feature for a 4.5-star. Will leave a review again after more and more chapters released. World Background: 5-star for a unique world you have here! 4.8/5 for now!

So far... I, as novice writer, find this piece really astonishing in all aspects. The terminologies used are just unbelievably good as if I was reading a professional's writing. Every description was filled with colour and emphasis that they actually glue its readers to read more of it. Kudos to the author! I would love to learn more from your works.

For me, reading this story is literally like challenging myself. I have to goggled so many words, though the author has written an auxiliary and you can also find some words with their meanings in the creator's thoughts. Moving on, this is a fantasy male lead novel and there's only six chapters so far. The author has taken time to build the world background and the characters. The grammar is top notch and I'm seriously keeping it in my collections. I'll like to see exactly how poor my vocabulary is....hehe!! Jokes apart, I'll seriously suggest to give this one a go because this book is worth it. Keep it up author!!

Two things that this book surpasses all others in (In my POV that is), World-building, and description. First of all, let's start with the world-building: The world-building is amazing for two things, the first being that its not an information dump. Everything you know about these world events, characters, actions, etc...is all from dialogues, which makes it intriguing and very informative. You don't get sick from it, in fact, you want more. The second thing about world-building is that its very original. Especially the names and time. It uses an original method of counting time and the names are very unique. Second of all, the description: The description is amazing, it's like seeing everything going in slow-mo. Everything is described and explained in amazingly descriptive narration that captures you in. My only complaint (and it's honestly my only complaint) Is that sometimes, the dialogue is a little confusing. You don't know who is who, and who is talking. It's a little confusing, but its not something that ruins the story. All in all, I give it a 5/5. Great job, author.

This is honestly really good! I did not expect something from Webnovel to give this much of a reading~! I'm saving this to my library and am very interested to see how this unfolds. Up until now, the main character has not been shown, too. Right? I think it's just me but sometimes, I get lost as to who is speaking which requires me to read a few lines back to get a grasp on who was talking. Despite it, everyone should give this a go and have this book saved in their library! The world is well thought out~ You'll see!

Though it is it six chapters while I am writing it. It has been an awesome read. I liked the synopsis which compelled me to go in the story and read it.
