"Look at that smug hag," Sabrina threw a piece of popcorn at the screen bitterly. "I bet she thinks she's on top of the food chain by putting everyone's business out into the open like that."
"It's her job," I tried to find a loophole, but there wasn't anything nice I could say about Mimi Herrera without making her sound like a gossiping villainess, which she was. She'd been making my scandal a part of her show for weeks now, and the way she always found something new to say without recycling anything was a talent of hers. She could be so useful as a negotiator for the FBI.
"It's a shitty job," my best friend sighed and settled back into the new couch in the living room. For the past week this couch had been like a second home to me because I had been working from the comfort of my house. "By the way, how did it go with the dinner? You only said it was a disaster and not much else."
