The Obscurial Snake in The Care of A Magizoologist

Drip. Drop. Drip. Drip.

The sound echoed on repeat in the chamber.

Far past curfew in a dark, forgotten corner of the ancient library of Hogwarts, candles flickered as the painting of two of Hogwarts Founders yawned and stretched within their frame.

From the painting, a stern man with an air of elegance sighed as he looked at their visitors, "Their persistence is shocking."

Beside him a beautiful scholarly woman laughed, "Indeed. But if anyone can succeed it will be those two."

The man shook his head with a frown on his face, "Their time is running out. That man is already aware of them. It's only a matter of time before he manages to eliminate them."

The woman sighed sadly, "It's unfortunate that he is to blind to see he is slowly killing Lady Magic. If these two had only been born fifty years earlier they may have been able to stop the End."

"Hey stop being so gloomy, it's distracting." Their distant thoughts were broken by the irritated snap of the young boy. "Mione the layering is complete. Did you prepare everything?"

The two Founders of Ravenclaw and Slytherin stared at the two students from their houses trying to take in what was happening.

The young boy shorter than normal but his body was finely tuned and his slightly pale tan skin was dressed in the well-fit Slytherin robes. His wild, untamable, short dark brown hair was a mark of his Potter ancestry while it possessed the slight curl belonging to the Blacks. His feral green eyes like a cat's revealing the cunning of a snake. A dangerous smirk that charmed all playing across his lips.

Behind him a young girl with a slim body and long, smooth, wavy brown hair was dressed in the robes of Ravenclaw. Her brown hazel eyes glittering with a light of intelligence that glowed dangerously with her mischievous smirk.

The two Founders had learned they were called Harry Potter, and Hermione Ganger.

Harry was a half-blood, possessing the blood of the houses of Potters, Peverell, Blacks, Slytherin, and Gryffindor within him. Inheriting the ability of Parsaltongue, metamorphagus, and a strong affinity toward both Light and Dark Magics.

Hermione was a mud-blood, well kinda... Within her was the blood of the houses of Malfroy, Lestrange, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. With astounding intelligence that nearly rivaled Harry's and an almost equally strong affinity toward Light and Dark Magics.

The two of them were geniuses.

Hermione hummed as she placed one last book into a small duffle bag on the table. Zipping the bag closed she folded it into a small ball before watching it vanish as she placed it in another backpack. Following the same process she folded the folded the backpack and watched it disappear into her locket.

"All finished Harry. All the books in the library have been copied and I made sure to go to all the bookstores in London over break to copy those as well. The potion ingredients have been packed and organized. Hedwig is in the house with Dobby. The wand materials are spelled and our wands have been locked into the house. The money has also been placed in the safe. The prison is cleaned and just as unbreakable. The food preserves are stocked full. All the other areas are secured. The locket is also bound to us. We are ready to go." Hermione listed everything she needs was of utmost importance, smiling to Harry as she closed her locket.

"That's great! All that's left is for us to do is get into our Animagus forms."

"Harry which are you going to use? We won't be able to use magic for a few years after so we will be unable for change back. The longer you stay in your form the more similar you will act as the animal when human again."

"I've already decided to go with the big cat. The other form won't be a good idea considering the time period I'll be plucked of my feathers if we get caught."

"Harry I feel like you've jinxed us."

"Yeah whatever let's get going."

As Harry spoke the two's forms began to change. Harry slowly shifted into a small magnificent black winged panther cub . Hermione shifted into a baby Slaia raven owl flying up from the floor to table to land on Harry's back after he jumped up.

In front of them a strange necklace hourglass lay still. Without wasting a moment Harry placed his paw on it as Hogwarts magic swarmed it.

Seconds later the two of them disappeared under the gazes of the two founders.
