Chapter 102: E-Rank Luck

Chapter 102: E-Rank Luck

~Third POV~

[Fuyuki Hyatt Hotel, 32nd Floor]

Inside a luxurious penthouse suite in the hotel Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, he was watching the TV news.

"…The exact cause of the explosions which happened here in the warehouse district of Fuyuki City bay remains unknown."

"Firefighters have been working to contain the blaze for an hour now."

"We have received word that an extremist group made a claim responsibility before the incident… police are conducting their investigation under the assumption that group os – VMP!"

*Click*

Listening to the news of the latest incident at the harbor bemused at the scene Kayneth observes the news thinking, 'I see when the Overseer of the Holy Church exerts himself, he can be quite deft with such matters. They told me they had the entire cover-up in place less than half an hour after I shut down my magical barrier.'

*Rrk*

Standing up from his seat walking to a nearby window looking down on the city with a neutral expression, he commanded his servant, "Come on out, Lancer."

*Whooosh*

Kneeling coming to his command in a neutral tone said, "I am at your service."

Kayneth with his back turned asked gazing at the city nightlights in a curious tone after yesterday's fight amongst Servants, "Well done tonight. I got to see my fill of the twin spears of the illustrious Diarmuid O'Dyna. However, how is it that a Saber and Lancer failed to defeat a simple Master such as him? And for what reason have you swung your spears into the air?"

Formulating an idea Lancer responded not daring to look up his Master as he said in a neutral tone, "I'm not sure myself my Lord. My skill acted as my guide in attacking the air but… I was sure it destroyed something as it collided with an unknown force. Did you not trace any Mana, my Lord?"

Kayneth gazed at Lancer's genuine reaction frowning as he curtly answered waving his hands behind his back, "No I didn't. But then again it could've been Caster that supported her Master to fight on par with Servants. And what did you think of his abilities? If given the chance, can you kill him on a 1 v 1?"

Lancer paused considering the answer as he genuinely replied in an unsure tone gazing at the ground, "Honestly Master… I'm not sure. If it is two or a group of Servants to corner him then it's possible as events last night showed. No one is unbeatable my Lord."

Kayneth considered the idea momentarily pausing before reluctantly nodding agreeing at the idea in a disdained tone, "I suppose so Lancer. With him pushing Berserker away using possibly [Telekinesis] then it's possible. There was no way for you to kill Saber not with this Mash Bastion interfering along with Rider."

Pausing briefly Kayneth sighed rubbing the bridge of his nose at this development as he pondered out loud their next course in a serious tone, "Now the bigger question is what should be our next move. Go after the weakened Saber or the weakened Master of Caster… we need to be delicate on which battle to go from this point forward Lancer…"

Lancer nodded seeing Kayneth was occupied in the Holy Grail War and opponents letting it slide with Lancer and Saber enjoying their fights as he witnessed the actions of Mash Bastion being on par with Servants much to the Magus's shock.

Kayneth wasn't a fool. Arrogant and prideful yes but not a fool when analyzing opponents that use Magecraft under his assumption. Especially when Medea introduced herself causing the prodigy Magus to frown against a Caster during the Age of the Gods.

He grits his teeth at Mash Bastion for daring to interfere with his plans. Kayneth is the epitome of how someone who believes themselves to be entitled at birth will never be happy.

He is a cruel man with a selfish and arrogant personality. He holds a great amount of hatred towards anyone who wrongs him, wishing to torture and kill them if possible. He is more cautious compared to those like Waver, Velvet Irisviel von Einzbern, and Mash Bastion who both openly stand on the battlefield of the Servants.

Kayneth has even brought many dangerous Mystic Codes in preparation for the Holy Grail War seeing it as no more than a game and desires to attain fame by fighting other Masters of great skill, talent, and caliber, and the legendary heroes of the past that have been called forth.

*Thud*

Entering through the room all eyes dart towards a lady dressed nicely with red hair as Kayneth smiles addressing his wife, "Ah… Sola-Ui welcome back. Have you received any reports of Caster from the Ryuudou Temple? Or the Von Einzbern castle?"

Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri the fiancée of Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald who acts as a secondary Magical Energy supply replied with a frown, "Yeah. Caster Master was last seen in Ryuudou Temple. We at least know where Caster would place her Workshop as I can feel the Mana radiate from there but…"

Kayneth nodded looking in the direction of the Ryuudou Temple with a frown evident on his face detecting the Mana in the air slowly smiling at the game changing, "I know my dear. The Mana from Mt. Enzo has increased since the confrontation from the harbor. This Holy Grail War is becoming quite a chaotic challenge."

*Brrriinngg*

Soon the sounds of the phone ringing could be heard as Kayneth took the phone explaining the arson was a trap set up by one of the Masters Lancer said following his Master's command in a serious tone drawing his spears, "Very well. You'd like me to cut off the attacker's lines of retreat and force them up to this level…?"

Kayneth nodded grinning as he spoke out loud in confidence that the arson was another Master's attempt to attack them, "Yes. I should allow my guests to enjoy fully their visit to Kayneth El-Melloi's magical atelier… no? I've booked this entire floor and put up Mana Ramparts. 24 layers of magical barriers. 3 Mana generators… and dozens of evil spirits acting as hunting dogs."

Kayneth closed his eyes taking pride in the fact of his amazing work extending both his arms in a prideful tone, "I've painstakingly laid guards and wards. Parts of the hallways even open into other worlds. It is now an invisible fortress of sorcery. Once all the other patrons here have been cleared out, we won't need to hold back whatsoever. Kehehheh… We'll be able to employ the esoteric arts to our hearts' content. Now come at me however you please! Hahahaha!!"

/////

Outside of the Fuyuki Hyatt building hotel Kiritsugu Emiya managed to trick the hotel manager he was Kayneth and evacuated with his wide using Magecraft.

*Bip*

With everyone evacuated from the building, the Mage Killer began to work on a device attempting to bomb the building as he clicked on the pocket bell machine taking out a cigarette.

Pressing the buttons the building began to get destroyed hearing the series of explosions from the edges.

*BOOOM*

*BOOOM*

Kiritsugu saw the destruction having Maiya judge the situation. However, he soon frowned seeing the building remain standing undeterred by the explosions muttering out loud, "Wha – what? Why didn't the building come crashing down…"

Just as he muttered those words his eyes widened seeing two figures enter through the building with one of them placing his hand over a part of the building. Kiritsugu's eyes widened lightly to see Mash and Medea casually enter inside.

Unaware Mash stopped the building from collapsing using his Authority of Wrath, [Restoration] fixing the building and rewinding to the point where the building isn't destroyed undoing any damages the explosions would've caused. Knowing the future Mash and Medea went forward to deal with Lancer for good.

The Mage Killer frowned at this as the fog began to descend from the area making people unconsciously leave, he tried to speak to Maiya from his phone, "Maiya what's the situation… Maiya?"

He heard static from the other end. This was officially Kiritsugu Emiya's worst day as his mission was ruined by Mash and his Servant.

/////

Entering through the first floor of the building Lancer arrived appearing twirling his spears frowning a bit disappointed, "I see. I was hoping for Saber or her Master to appear to challenge me again. But I see it – "

Holding onto Medea's hand Mash used [My World] as time froze with her bringing out her [Rule Breaker] twirling it around and Magic threads as she spoke, "This is by far the easiest win for us. Just as we expect a Lancer with the E-Rank Luck."

*SHINNG*

*Whooosh*

Stabbing him with [Rule Breaker] into Lancer's chest and him being held in place by Mash's [Unseen Hands] as he spoke in a serious tone, "Sorry Lancer but I don't have time to play with you Servants. I'm going for the wins and blame your own shitty E-Rank Luck."

Time soon resumed as Lancer's eyes widened as a flash of magical energy was released as he roared out in pain restrained, "AHHHHH!!!"

Struggling in vain to be released as he was captured sparks of lightning emerged from the dagger of Medea's Noble Phantasm [Rule Breaker] screaming in pain as the connection between Kayneth and Sola-Ui has been severed.

*DING*

Showing off her hand a new set of Command Seals appeared over Medea's hand laughing maniacally showing off her [Rule Breaker] in a satisfied tone, "Hahahahaha!!! I hope you were enchanted. This is my Noble Phantasm it's the [Rule Breaker] magic is useless against it. It will nullify all magic in the world it's the dagger of betrayal and denial. Our pack has been forged I am your Master Lancer!"

Eyes widened in horror at what Medea obtained as Mash nodded for her to give her commands much to Lancer's genuine horror handing him a dagger, "By my first Command I want you to kill off your former Master Kayneth with this dagger behind his back. Then my second is to return the dagger. And finally, my third command is to kill yourself and make sure to stay dead!"

Lancer gritted his teeth as he was soon freed and vanished into his astral form Mash whistled at Medea's brutality in a curious tone, "Whew~ Damn Medea I didn't know you were this brutal giving commands. Or is it perhaps you didn't like how Lancer was looking at Baeber? Jealous much?"

Medea merely scoffs at the notion curtly responding with a happy tone matching an evilly wicked grin on her face, "I don't believe so Master. Perhaps I'm a bit jealous of how this man was looking at my doll. I merely… wanted to give him his just deserts."

*Whooosh*

No sooner did Lancer return handing them the dagger with hollowed eyes as he readies his spears growling at them with bitter resentment, "You two aren't going to win this… the King of Knights will stop you vile villains. Evil always loses to the righteous Knights…"

*SPLAT*

Piercing his head with his spear splitting his whole head and turning into Mana particles. Mash scowled at the sight turning his back and holding the dagger, "Tch. The idiot thought we must play this by the rules. No. This is war and things like honor don't exist on the battlefield. All is fair in love and war."

Medea nodded agreeing with those words delighted they dealt another Servant in and gained memories of their Masters Magecrafts as trophies. Thus the 3 clashes of Servants and Master fighting came to an end.

Medea soon cast a teleportation spell immediately leaving the area to prepare for the remaining Masters nearby as the night was still young. Saber, Caster, Rider, Berserker, and Assassin all remain left…
