摘要

Zerin was born into loneliness, his heart already scorned. Orphaned at birth, he watched every friend he made eventually move on to new families, leaving him behind in a crumbling foster system. As he entered his teenage years, things only grew worse. Even though the orphanage had improved, at least for the younger children, no one wanted to adopt teens. And just when he thought life couldn't be crueler, it struck again, infecting him with the Nightmare Spell. He was swiftly cast into his first nightmare—a blood-soaked world teetering on the edge of oblivion. There, Zerin faced creatures unlike anything he had ever imagined and ended with him consuming divinity itself. The result? A forced ascension into a role he never chose—one beyond mortal comprehension. The very next day, another boy is infected: Dexter, the last of his family line, desperate to outrun the ghosts of his past. During his trial, he was grafted into another family, becoming a part of something new. A strange connection binds these two one—that may be written into the fabric of Fate itself. But Fate is not merciful. As Zerin and Dexter navigate this world they now see in a new light, they begin to uncover the terrifying truth of Fate—and what it truly means to avert it. Will their paths diverge, leading them to clash? Or will they join together to battle for, or against, Fate? (This story is purposely different from the original Shadow slave Novel.) I am not making a happy story. Sorry. Thanks for Reading!

Chapter 1Excluded from Warmth

Looking at the poster plastered on the cafeteria wall, a buck-toothed smiley face flashed its thumbs up, accompanied by the words:

 [Save the Children!]

Zerin's expression contorted at the sight.

"Save the children, my ass!"

He muttered under his breath while clenching his fists in frustration.

'What genius thought this was okay to put up here?!'

Pushing his empty tray aside, Zerin stood up and peeled at the clear tape securing the poster. A sharp whistle was blown, but ignoring it, Zerin continued to pick at the poster, only halting when the staff's voice interrupted him.

"Hey, leave the poster alone, kid!" The staff barked.

Zerin reluctantly complied with a heavy sigh.

He stood and walked away. After throwing his tray away, Zerin headed for the exit. But before he could leave, the staff member's hand landed on his shoulder.

"Hey kid...Your eyes...Do you feel fatigued?"

Zerin laughed nervously.

"Yes, I do. I can't sleep a wink. It's too damn cold in the Senior Division," Zerin said calmly to the staff member.

"How long has this been going on for?"

"The heating?"

Zerin furrowed his brow slightly in confusion.

"No, the damn fatigue! How long have you been fatigued?"

The staff member said with a hint of desperation.

"Only a day... Like I said, I didn't get a wink of sleep last night because the heating doesn't work."

Zerin reinstated, his voice getting louder as he had to repeat himself.

The staff member sighed in annoyance, shaking his head.

"Hey sir, can you sort this out for me? I know we haven't always gotten along, but I've been waiting for several days, and the senior division still doesn't have its heating fixed."

The staff member let go of Zerin's shoulder and lifted his head to look at the other kids in the cafeteria.

Zerin laughed internally, walking away from the staff member.

'This bastard still hates me! He has to get over it eventually, no?'

As Zerin left the cafeteria, he approached the junior division. Divisions were based on the age range of the children, with two divisions: the Junior division spanning from infants to middle schoolers, and the senior division consisting solely of high schoolers.

The orphanage had a layout that helped visitors find the kids they wanted to adopt. For example, the senior division was at the far end of the hallway, while the junior division was in the front, as most people preferred adopting younger children.

Zerin walked down the orphanage hallways, entering the Senior division. The bitter cold seeped in from the walls as he approached his room.

It was laughable to him how they managed to fix the junior division's heating problems but didn't care to fix the senior divisions. Eventually making it to his room, he had very few possessions, which he was fine with.

Stepping into his room, Zerin laid on his bed, worn down due to years of use. To make matters worse, the repairs Zerin made to it weren't much better; placing cinder blocks under a single box spring he used as a mattress really did nothing to improve its quality.

Being picked by families was the only hope an orphan could have. Though it had been several years since Zerin had arrived at the orphanage, he'd been there for so long that the only thing he had known was the orphanage.

He had friends of his own at the start, but eventually everyone from his age range got adopted and he never saw them again, leaving him the only one in the Senior Division. Therefore, it was extremely unlikely that Zerin would be picked now.

'Who wants to adopt a sixteen-year-old?'

Zerin sighed as he looked up at the ceiling of his room.

'At least I get warm food every day and It's real food unlike the synthetic food that most people get, so in that regard, I'm thankful.'

Yawning even more, Zerin pulled his old blanket that he had used since he was a young kid, its edges tattered, and curled up into a ball on the box spring, allowing the blanket to cover his lengthy body, and slowly faded into sleep.

In the darkness, a strange voice rang:

[Aspirant! Welcome to the Nightmare Spell. Prepare for your First Trial...]

Upon hearing the strange voice, he opened his eyes. Was he outside? No... he was in hell...

ASOIAF: King of Winter

A man from our world finds himself as a force sensitive during the New Sith Wars; he lives a full life of combat and adventure, eventually becoming renowned as a powerful Jedi Lord. Dying to defend his fief against an army of Sith, our MC dies a heroic death, sacrificing his life against the forces of evil in an epic duel. Thinking his chances depleted, he finds himself in another world he recognizes from seemingly fictional stories, as none but the beloved Robb Stark the day he receives news of his father’s capture with his force sensitivity intact. Yet once again, the Force has designs upon the Starks, and the bloodline of Winter Kings holds unfathomable mysteries within it. What are the changes coming with this new Robb Stark? And what is the relation of Planetos with the Force? 5 chaps in advance here: patreon.com/NiflheimA _____________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: The MC is familiar with the general plot but has forgot some of the details, he’s working with a combination of memories two lives away, the force, and his experience as a Jedi Lord of many years, so expect someone who knows and is capable of much, yet not completely perfect nor emotionally available. PS: This is largely wish fulfillement, so while I'll try to include some deep emotional plots, I suck, so keep at that. PS 2: I won't rewrite things that were already parts of canon, this is focused on stuff that is changed by the MC's actions. So if you don't see it, then it hapenned the same way it did in the original story.

Harry Potter : Bloodraven

A teenage boy finds himself transmigrated into an alternate version of his favorite fictional universe, equipped with a standard system designed to make his adventure more convenient. — In this fanfiction, the wizarding world is more advanced and more aware of Muggle technology. The one place still lagging behind? Britain, where noble wizards cling to outdated traditions. This is an alternate-universe take on Harry Potter, blending in characters, themes, and ideas from various other universes—movies, TV shows, and books alike. The story will begin by focusing on Harry's time at Hogwarts, with other universes making brief appearances through short chapters or mentions. They won't take center stage until after the Hogwarts years are complete. The pace will be slow at the beginning, as I need to introduce new concepts, world-building, and character development to shape the MC the way I want him before the plot truly kicks off. — The System: First of all, it doesn't control the MC's life. It's not sentient, it doesn't make decisions, and it certainly doesn't control the MC. In fact, the MC could ignore it entirely, and nothing would happen. At first glance, the system might seem a bit overpowered. But give it around 30 chapters, and you'll start to see the balance. The system is just there to help the MC now and then, offering a shortcut when it's convenient. It won't make him invincible overnight. — Pairing: I'm still undecided. Harem? Single love interest? To be honest, I'm open to either and will let the readers decide. The release schedule is set for every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with one chapter per release, but may increase depending on the support this fanfic receives. — I have a family with two kids—a daughter and a son. I work full-time and dedicate my free time to writing, usually after spending time with my family. This gives me about two or three hours to focus on writing, and I absolutely love it. I'll do my best to stay consistent. — If this sounds like your kind of story, I'd love for you to give it a try! Your feedback would mean a lot, but please wait until you've read at least 15 chapters before sharing your thoughts. And if this isn't your taste, no problem! There are plenty of other stories in this genre for you to explore. Harry Potter and all other fictional elements in this fanfiction belong to their respective authors, including J.K. Rowling and others. I don't own any of it. If you enjoy these stories, I encourage you to support and respect the official content above all else. It's important to honor the original creators! — If you wish to support me, please head to my P t-R30N, where you can subscribe to chapters before they're published here.
