Ryuga is climbing the sflight of stairs leading to the top of the castle. A soldier in a unique uniform from the others comes down the stairs and stands just a few steps from him. His uniform is made up of black pants and a red shirt. A black jacket and and black leather cloves. He has black hair tied back and a mask covering the top of his face.
" I take it you are Ryuga Xicor. You have been summoned by his majesty." the man spoke with a plain and pure authority.
"Ah? A disapproving father. I never thought he would be so quick". Ryuga responded with a hint of sarcasm.
The man just passed by him without any reaction. Ryuga couldn't feel his tremendous power at all until he came close to him and passed him. Just then he was aware who this man was. This was the empire's first lieutenant otherwise known as, Shadow. In the hierarchy of the empire he is probably in the top five. Ryuga took a deep breath and followed him.
He was led to an open garden with a high ceiling and large circular opening above. The design and beauty was simply profound. This was within the imperial Castle's restricted area. Very few people have barely even entered it. The emperor, Zarten Reign was standing with his back to the entry, looking up at the darkening sky.
"Thank you lieutenant, you may leave". His order were heard, without him looking back. "Hello young Ryuga. It's nice to finally meet you. Why don't you join me."
Ryuga walked towards him slowly. With a few steps the ground, the plants and everything around them glowed. He walked even closer and a magic circle appeared on the ground and another corresponding one above them by the ceiling.
Zarten turns around and looks at him. His expression looks more cheerful than what Ryuga expected. "Come, let me teach you our history. One that you should be protecting." He stretches his hand to Ryuga.
Ryuga walked even closer and stands before him. The magic circles start spinning slowly and the surroundings change. They appear to be in another area. A hidden dimension perhaps.
"I'm guessing you think this is a hidden dimension. I will correct you, it is a space I had Irla build up. This is where I keep something very important." He walks to Ryuga and turns him around by the shoulders. "That is our history."
Before his eyes was a giant beast. This thing was powerful, but its power lie dormant in it, almost like it's sleeping. It was so humongous Ryuga couldn't understand how anyone had the ability to bring it in here. Although it was still alive it stood like a statue. The surface was pitch black but looked smooth.
"That is called Armageddon. In ancient history, Armageddon is known as a final battle. That is why my predecessors kept it, as a signal for the coming of that war." He shifted his gaze to Ryuga for a moment. "Go ahead. Touch it." He gestured for him with his hand.
Ryuga touches it and his energy pulsates. He feels it getting drawn and absorbed into the beast. He moves his hand away and takes a step back.
Armageddon's energy also pulsates and it's skin appears to be coming alive. Zarten watches from the back. Armageddon moves it's hand but before it moved more, Zarten raises his hand at it and it immediately goes immobile again.
An amused smile curves on his face as he walks to Ryuga. "Would you like to know more now? I'm sure I've piqued your interest enough." he pats him on the shoulder and the magic circles appear again. The surroundings change again and they are back in the garden.
Ryuga calmed himself and nodded. "Yes please, your majesty." He faces Zarten and went down on one knee.
"Then come, join me." Zarten walked to the table in the middle of the garden and sa down. Ryuga followed him and listened attentively. Zarten looked at the stary sky and began.
"In the long past, during the age of chaos many things happened. Our world or existence is home to many beings. Vampires, demons, humans and Gods. But there was another race. They were know as mere-bloods. The most powerful mortal race." Zarten paused for a moment.
"The humans and vampires were always the ones at war. Their constant fighting was starting to cause problems for the other races - Gods are not a race. Until a one man, who was distressed by it stood up. It was the father of the first emperor." He stops when Ryuga raises his hand.
"What is the name of the first emperor. With what I've read, he was quiet powerful. But his name was never mentioned. Nor his best deeds. Let alone his disappearance."
"Nothing more than what is commonly known can be said about him. Now back to the lecture." he continues.
"He was not able to stop the war. Some years later, a young boy with immense power surfaced. It was Alexander Moon. The first emperor. He rose in society very fast and was known for his power. As a mere blood, he was able to use the powers like an innate ability of his race. He formed the empire and it grew very formidable in a short time." He glanced at Ryuga and continued.
"It is common knowledge that humans can either be mages or psychics. But one day he heard of a woman who can use both psychic and magic abilities. He went to hunt her like most of his preys and he found her with ease. Vandella Hellsing. A woman who despised vampires to the bone. She had been selected the human king's advisor and had him convinced him to wage another final war against vampires." Zarten fixes his sitting.
"Alexander visited the king and promised him that if he waged war, he will suffer horribly for it. But the stubborn King 's ears were deaf. The day they planned to attack, Alexander showed up at the human king's castle and challenged the entire army. He was taken for a fool. Hellsing challenged him and lost. It is said that he sealed her powers, have her absolute immortality and enslaved her. He cursed her and turned her into Armageddon which is now a mere weapon." He looks at Ryuga who paid attention. "That is the end of my summary. Any questions?"
Ryuga shook his head.
"As punishment for the king, he slayed all members of the Hellsing family bloodlime and relatives along with half of the royal family 's members. Maybe that was because their goals went against his goal." Zarten became a little calm and took a deep breath.
"I'm sure you're wondering Why it is called Armageddon," he looks at Ryuga who responds with a nod. "As I said it was to know the coming of the final war. The war when mortals will be fighting against Gods. The judgement of races is what I would call it. I think I told you enough." he gets up and looks up at the sky.
"May I ask two questions your highness. Why did you tell me all of that? And secondly, why is armageddon hidden? I can't think of anyone who can kill, steal or even use Armageddon. At least that's what I got sense of when I touched it." Ryuga stood. He really couldn't understand why him among most people was he brought here in the first place.
"It's because I've been keeping my eyes on you." Zarten 's voice was sharp. His gaze was serious as he looked at Ryuga this time.
