Evolution

During the same evening, Zeke borrowed a training room which is used by the goddess. Knowing that these entities are much stronger than any mortal warrior, he knows that his monsters won't cause any damage to a training room owned by one.

He then proceeded to summoning the two additions to his group of powerful conjured creatures. What Zeke is about to perform is connected to the discussion he had with Yaeger earlier.

Lupus and Erio appeared before Zeke. He then pressed on a button which was still locked at the earlier patches of the System. However, Samael and the other two human type conjures still has this feature locked. Meaning, the function is not available for them at the moment.

On both Lupus and Erio there is a notification which reads:

[The evolution function has been unlocked]

Compared to the first three monsters that have been merged by Zeke, Lupus is much stronger. Its rank is [A+] with a bunch of passive and active skills added to it. However, Zeke did not dwell on these for too long because, he plans to make Lupus evolve. This means that the skill set will change and so will the ranks and everything else.

"You're going to be a bit more dangerous than the three." He told the wolf that stood at a solid 6ft.

Zeke then clicked on the evolution function which showed four evolutions, one of which is marked by a lock. There is a message attached to it which reads:

[Requires Rank SSS]

Aside from this however, are the three other evolution types which are available. These are as follows:

[Lightning Shadow Wolf]

[Information: A rare monster class which comes as an offspring of a Shadow Wolf and a Lightning Wolf. The monster is quick on its feet and, can even reach the speed of an actual lightning strike. The monster has high resistance to both lightning and dark elements while its body is surrounded by a static electricity.]

[Werewolf]

[Information: A monster with human like characteristics. It prides itself with its high intellect and adaptability to any terrain and enemy it faces. They are most powerful on nights of the full moon while they are at their weakest during the new moon. They may enhance any of their physical abilities during a fight but, this will debuff all other ability.]

[Hellhound]

[Information: A creature created from the depths of hell itself. The monster is resistant to flames and, has a body that can withstand most attacks. These creatures defend the gates of hell, taking down all outsiders who dares force the gates open. Their kind has one of the largest health pool among the monsters.]

"So one is fast, one is quick witted, and the last one is basically a meat shield." Zeke thought to himself, rubbing the top of Lupus' head which seems to be enjoying the treatment.

Currently, Zeke's major summons are all offensive type monsters. 'If I choose the first two, I'd have no strong defensive monster.' Were the words that ran through his head.

As much as possible, Zeke wants to have a balanced composition of summons. The reason why he even chose the conjurer class in the first place is because of this. The versatility of summons would allow him to craft better strategies as well as, having more options on the actions he'll take in combat.

Zeke thought that, although the [Lightning Shadow Wolf] shows a lot of promise, it probably cannot defend properly. Thus, Zeke made up his mind and chose the Hellhound.

He clicked on the option and pressed the [Yes] button which came with system's question of [The Shadow Wolf will evolve into a Hellhound. Are you sure?]

The evolution soon began with Lupus howling as its body drastically changed.

The slim figure of the [Shadow Wolf] began bulking up as soul looking creatures enveloped it. Lupus howled and growled, clinging to the floor as its claws began to stretch. The body of the creature got enveloped by what seems to be the skeletal remains of a hound-like creature. This became the armor of the hellhound as its head is also covered by a monster's skull.

As soon as the evolution finished, Zeke viewed the details of his newly acquired monster.

[Name: Lupus]

[Species: Conjured Hound]

[Specification: Hellhound]

[Rank: F-]

The rank did not disappoint Zeke because, as he went to the skills and attributes of Lupus, he immediately saw the drastic changes. Most notable among the skills possessed by the [Hellhound] are these two:

[Skill Name: Death Drain]

[Skill Type: Unique Passive]

[Mana Consumed: None]

[Information: The hellhound gains back health, proportional to the amount of health lost by any living organism that died within a 10-meter radius. This also restores any parts of the hellhound that has been damaged.]

[Skill Name: Death's Loyal Pet]

[Skill Type: Unique Passive]

[Mana Consumed: None]

[Information: The hellhound has a 50% chance to avoid a lethal physical strike. The hellhound has a 50% chance to gain immunity from a lethal spell attack.]

"This should be enough for the current mission." Zeke thought to himself, putting Yaeger's request into mind.

He then proceeded to performing the same function on Erio. Unlike Lupus, Erio only has two options to choose from namely:

[Archelf Swordsman]

[Information: Archelfs are ancient forms of elves who commune better with nature. They are a higher strand of elves which is the complete opposite of the warmongering Blood Elves. An archelf swordsman wields the weapon as if it is an extension of his own body – preferring lighter blades that allows them to move swiftly through the battlefield.]

[Blood Elf Swordsman]

[Information: Blood Elves are ancient forms of elves which crave the ecstasy and euphoria of battle. They are a higher strand of elves which is the complete opposite of the peace-loving Archelves. A blood elf swordsman wields the weapon as if it is their claws – preferring heavier weapons which they swing wildly through the battlefield.]

"Both are offensive types huh." Zeke remarked as Lupus rubbed its head on his shoulder.

Even though it is just a conjured version of a [Hellhound], the monster seems to hold affection towards its master. This is primarily because, Zeke's job class is connected to raising the dead.

"Down boy." Zeke told the hound, making it slump to the ground and stopping its tail from wagging.

He then proceeded to the choices which didn't take long. There is a weapon that would suit one of the two perfectly which is, the great sword he obtained from the [Secret Dungeon]. Thus, Zeke chose the [Blood elf].

The body of the conjured general got consumed by a red flame, shouting as it felt its own body changing. Soon after, an arm came out of the flame, it is covered by an armor which looked more beastly than any normal armor. This is followed by the feet which walked out of the crimson red flames. Then surfaced both the body and the head.

The former general is covered by a unique red mana which paints its whole armor. Inside, the body is a dark and deep blue while its eyes glowed the same red color of its armor.

[Name: Erio]

[Species: Conjured Elf]

[Specification: Blood Elf Swordsman]

[Rank: F-]

Just like Lupus, Erio had a very distinct set of skills. However, while Lupus' skills focused on defense, Erio's skills focused on offense.

[Skill Name: Primal Strength]

[Skill Type: Unique Passive]

[Mana Consumed: None]

[Information: A Blood Elf swordsman can turn any odds into their favor using with this skill. Every percent of health missing is converted into attribute points, greatly raising the overall fighting capacity of the swordsman as the battle prolongs.]

[Skill Name: Blood Cleaver]

[Skill Type: Unique Passive]

[Mana Consumed: None]

[Information: Any weapon held by a blood elf swordsman gains the function of storing the blood of its defeated opponents. Upon reaching the cap, this is released as a skill shot which does not consume any mana. The slash created is a lethal weapon which could cut through most objects. The skill may be released earlier at the price of having a weaker offensive output.]

As Zeke looked at the two, he can't help but notice how they have similar colors. He did not intend this or course but, the color befitted them as it makes them distinct from every other monster conjured by Zeke.

"I'm guessing the others would have a slight color variation once they go through evolution." Zeke thought to himself.

As he finished performing all of this, he a heaviness to his body. The whole day strained him after all, with all that went through and all the details which added up.

"An ally which turned to an enemy."

"An enemy who made a contract with me."

"Making a whole household escape from the city."

"Dealing with the troublesome major deities."

"Having another large scale mission."

"Evolving two of my strongest conjured monsters."

Zeke thought of all these things as he went on his way to the bath. The group which went there have already returned. Zeke checked where they are and saw them sleeping soundly inside a bedroom.

"I guess I should also rest and relax my body before tomorrow comes." Zeke told himself as he took a short moment of relaxation.
