The Congregation Of Mages

"Come on, you two! Time for bed!" yelled a very tired mother.

Her chestnut locks were long and flowingly messy. Her fringe was pulled to the back by a black hairband. She wore a purple casual dress and had no shoes. She was currently trying to entice her babies to bed. Unfortunately, they were too hyper to listen to their mother.

"We don't wanna! We still want to have fun!" complained one of the children, who was a spitting image of her mother.

"Yea! Sleeping is boring!" agreed the other child, who was a fraternal twin of the other child.

This twin was slightly more energetic than his twin sister. He had short, black hair and had a very skinny frame. The two children were in the middle of running around their bedroom as their poor mother tried to dress them in their pajamas.

"Well, if you complain sleeping is boring... Would you like me to read you a bedtime story?" asked the mother, smiling gently at her stubborn children.

"You can listen to my stories as they are like adventures. And when you dream, you'll go on those adventures. How about that?" suggested the mother, holding onto her twins' hands.

Both of them nodded enthusiastically and plunged into their giant bed. Tucking them in, the mother sighed and joined her children in the bed.

"Aren't you going to get a book?" asked the girl, snuggling with her penguin.

"Where's your book, Mama?" asked the boy, snuggling with his rabbit.

"Why should I need a book? All the adventures that I'm about to tell you are all in here," said the smiling mother, pointing to her left side of the head.

The two children looked at each other and with the eyes of a curious cat, the mother began her story. However, the bedroom door swung open to reveal a man with a blue suit and red tie.

"Papa!" yelled the kids, jumping out of their bed to hug their father.

"Whoa there! Hold on there for a moment, your father hasn't bathed yet!" protested the father as he got overwhelmed by his children.

"I don't think they care about that..." said the mother, shaking her head.

"What were you three doing?" asked the father, who looked like his son.

"Mama was just about to tell us adventure stories!" said the girl.

"Oh... Do you know how I fell in love with your mama? She told me stories as well. I want to hear them again. Can I join your storytime?" asked the father, taking off his tie and jacket.

He then ushered his kids to get back to bed and grabbed a chair to sit on the other side of them. But not before giving his wife a peck on the lips. The mother shook her head as the father bore the same eager eyes that his children had.

"You've heard this story, time and time again, do you still want to listen to it?" asked the mother, raising her eyebrows at her husband.

"To be fair, the last story you told me was just the middle part... So, technically, you haven't finished the entire book yet," argued the father.

"So the story isn't short? Like, are there any books of it? Are they all related?" asked the twins, with energetic voices.

"Calm down, you two! Did I accidentally give you sugar or something? Where are you getting this energy?! It's rare for children to be so hyper at this hour!" asked the mother, staring at her children.

"Alrighty then, let's get on with the story. Yes, there are multiple stories of this giant story. I can tell you all of it as long as you both are willing to listen. And when you are old enough, I can pass you the book where I store these adventures. I wrote them myself," instructed the mother.

"Wow! Mama is a writer! I wanna be a writer too!" said the girl, raising her hands.

"I'm sure you will. Someday, you will go on your adventures, see the world with your very own eyes. That's where you will start to love and write about the adventures that you go on. Let's start, shall we?" asked the mother, clapping her hands together.

"Yay!" cheered the twins.

"Okay. Let me tell you about a fable of fantasy and adventures. A story of Elements and people from the stars above us. Allow me to tell you all the legends of the mighty people from the other worlds. The adventures that they went on, the lives that they lived. The tale of Mages."
