Chapter 14: Before School

Both Sunny and Gramps were spellbound (get it). They truly never thought that Eader would win, but they saw it in front of their eyes. Left hooked his left arm, then right hooked his chin, and headbutted his abdomen, just to flip him over and elbow onto the ground.

Truly phenomenal, they all stood there like five seconds- waiting for Michael to get up. He did not. Then Eader turned and gave a worried look, saying ''guys, he's knocked out cold."

There mouths were still open, Gramps was first to respond '' um, ok, pull him over here to see the da- ", Eader collapsed.

It did not surprise him, then he looked at Sunny, "he, he did it, he beat him," she said, agitatedly, trying to keep her cool.

"yes, yes he did."

Then both walked forward to pull them both, to make sure they were ok. Then they both noticed Eader was more battered than Michael.

That boy will need a rest.

It was all over the news.

"Explosion at police headquarters, what happened there?"

That annoyed the detective a lot because the explosion happened 4 hours ago.

The news travels quickly, and I have to write a report about this.

He sighed.

"... A police officer was kil-"

He turned it off, giving an enraged face.

They easily can say kill, but when they see it or do it, they freak out.

This was not the first time a colleague has died, this was his 4th, all from his mistakes.

I could have saved him.

He was glad nobody else was in the range of the explosion but still…

Why?

A tear ran down his face hitting his grey couch. The detective lived in a penthouse with a living room and kitchen mixed together, then a hallway which branched onto the bathroom, hid bedroom and the guest/ work out area/ study room (it had many uses).

He stood up to grab his coffee on the kitchen counter. Thinking about that woman.

Who was she?

It really dawned on him since she looked familiar. Then he got a call from his phone on the table, next to him.

He answered.

"Hello, detective," he recognised the voice, it was a police officer.

"Yes," he replied.

"Well, we found something from the explosion."

That message woke him up.

"What is it?" asking eagerly.

"Well I have not told anyone else," he said nervously.

"Ok," which confused him.

"So what did you find?"

"I found a wire tap, which means-"

"It could be a traitor," he said finishing his sentence.

"yes."

"amazing work, tell me if you can tap into it."

"No, it was destroyed in the explosion," he said with great sadness.

"Ok, tell me if you find anything else, and sir, good work."

"Ok, thank you, bye sir," he happily spoke.

Then a gigantic smile appeared on his face.

Eader woke up in an ice bath, it was freezing, however, his body hurt ten times more. It occurred to him that he beat Michael, he just smiled.

Did I really beat Michael? Me, a kid with swordancia.

That thought truly made him happy, however, he was handicapped with 25kg on each arm and leg, and he fought with them for an hour.

Still, I won.

He smiled, then looked at the time, but there was no clock.

Then he realised he was in the bathroom.

It was amazing, filled with ancient wooden styles, fairly big and white tiles for the floor. He was in the tub, but there were 2 shower stalls to his right and 2 on his left and a sauna at the other end.

This fits in a bungalow.

It was nice and relaxing, then a person came in. He just closed his eyes, enjoying his time. Then he opened his eyes wondering who it was, that same person was thinking who that was. They both turned and made eye contact.

A girl.

A boy.

They both looked at each other, she slipped, he moved, but cried in pain, wincing his eye. She looked at him and ran away.

"Grandpa, what is this?" she shrieked, she only wore a white towel but her skin was soft and smooth. Hair was not too long, going to the top of her shoulder.

"Is the boy awake?" He heard faint Gramps on the other end.

"yes," she said crossly, taking a glance at him.

"Then leave him be."

That answer gave a chuckle from Eader, the girl heard and looked.

He was then embarrassed," um, I'm sorry for being here," he gave a weak smile but turned his neck away.

The girl stood up.

"Look at me," she ordered, looking like a strong leader, except for the towel covering her chest to butt.

He reluctantly looked. His lips started quivering.

She noticed and got scared.

"Oh, um sorry, are you ok?"

"no… I am too cold," she looked at him confused, then laughed.

"How old are you?" she asked, laughing.

"um, f-f-fourrrr, teen," he shivered with the old ice cubes.

"um, why don't you get out?"

"no… great… pain," he started to stutter.

"Ok then."

She walked away to the shower.

but then thought she might be disturbing him. She fastened the towel round her waist and proceeded to ask him questions.

"Are you alright staying here by yourself?" Eader looked at her cold. He tried speaking strongly," wai-t, a bit," she was confused. He tried getting up but collapsed. Some of the water had spilled out of the tub, making the girl wet.

She smiled when he looked at her again, but gave an agitated look. She started to move away when Eader spoke properly once again," I didn't mean to, I am sorry," he didn't move.

The girl looked at him and sighed," alright then, why did you get those injuries?" Her attitude had worsened as she practically was tilting away from him. "Fought Michael," she nodded, unaware that he meant the professional fighter.

He gave a great sigh, which stopped her from leaving," I lost so many times towards him, its annoying," she shrugged, wondering why he mentioned his struggle. "But!" He startled her, " I beat him once," she nodded, "good work, sure it must have been hard."

She looked at the kid who seems to be around twelve, or maybe younger. She spoke, "I wonder, could I beat Michael?" She realised what she said ravenously spoke, "no n-"

"Probably, I mean the guy was handicapped so much, it's so annoying how that happened, he did it for me, but I still lost so many times," he gave a comedic sad face, which made her laugh. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it's annoying with or without."

She smiled gently, but changed her expression.

"What's your relationship with grandpa?" she gave an angel's smile.

"Gramps put down a sword and I picked it up so now he is training me," he pulled his legs together to make a ball, jittering a bit.

Gramps?

"Are you lying?"

"No, why would I be lying?" answering in a straight face.

He's hiding something.

"Is the pain getting better?"

She was questioning him.

"Yeah, it stings a little but it's alright," he said, wondering about something. She started to act a bit agitated. Some random kid was in here because of something.

Why did he let him in?

Then a knock echoed throughout. "Pyra, can I come in?" He knew his grand daughters well, too well. "Yeah, can you tell me why the kid is here?"

She spoke strong, scaring Eader, but also annoying him when he was getting called a kid.

"Haha," he chuckled, looking at Eader with great pity. "You really are small, arnt you?"

He got agitated and got out of the tub.

"HEY, DON'T CALL ME SMALL!"

Pyra blushed when he got up, the water covered it, but when it all fell down she saw trunks emerge. She looked dumbfounded and the man looked at Pyra, " I will explain it quick, this child-"

"Teenager!"

He rolled his eyes, as Eader started walking out of the tub.

"Picked up the sword I mentioned," Pyra then started to look at Eader again, blinking in surprise. He then coughed, drawing her attention, "but he cant output the magic well, he is practically a new born, as his height suggests," he chuckled after he spoke and the man got sprayed with cold water. A dark look is what Eader got and before Eader could react a glow was emerging from Pyras hand.

"STOP!"

Pyra let the glow dissipate and he glared at her, "a new born Pyra, if you are worried then that fine, but he is trustworthy, ok?" Pyra looked at him with guilt and then said to Eader apologetically, " I am sorry," but what he said next surprised her.

" for what?"

She blinked twice and he spoke again, "it's not yours, it's that dumb guys for not telling you, he may be old, but he sucks." He said it pleasantly to her but coldly to the old man, he just chuckled, " the mind set of a two year old," Eader was in shock.

"THAT'S A DOWNGRADE!"

He started leaving, " have a nice shower Pyra," he left the room. Eader followed him agitatedly. "Where do you think you are going?"

Pyra looked at him.

Well, that was unexpected.
