Nox pondered for a while, wondering if there had been an instance where his grandpa mentioned his wife. He thought hard but couldn't recall any moment like that.
'Did she pass away and he was so sad that he didn't even talk about her?' Nox wondered. 'Meh, if I return, I'll ask that old bag of bones.' He snapped back to the present and coughed lightly to get the attention of the bickering couple.
"I just wanted to greet you guys. I'll be on my way then," he said, a smile on his face as he continued his walk. However, before he left, he paused, his gaze softening as he added, "And if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask."
Ann's eyes filled with tears, and she gave Bradford's hand a tight squeeze. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "We've never had anything like this before. It means the world to us."
