Silent Laughter

*Minato's POV

"Saratobi what are you doing you crazy old man" I yelled to the Third Hokage

"Minato your son will need you he will have a troubled future ahead of him guide him," the Third Hokage said as he performed the reaper death seal putting half of the nine tails chakra in Naruto and half of it in himself.

"Raise him well... Make Kushina proud" were the thirds last words to as he dies due to the reaper. I lifted my son out of the alter as I watched the seal fade from his stomach. I teleported me, and my son to our house where Kushina lies in bed.

"Kushina?" I said as I approached the bed with My son crying in my arms. I place my hand on Kushina's cold body and began to cry as I placed my son in the crib that she picked out for him. I picked up her body and carried her outside. news of the nine tails defeat has spread through the village as other went to go gather the dead. Everyone spent all night into the next morning mourning the dead. A great monument was erected for Kushina at the head of the newly formed cemetery made out of a large chunk of amber found after the fight. My Ex-student Kakashi walked up next to me as I stood at the grave of my wife.

"Your son needs you to know," he said with sadness in his voice

"Just a few more moments," I asked. Kakashi nodded his head and turned and walked away leaving me alone. after five minutes I teleported myself back home. I was surprised to see my son sleeping soundly in his crib. As I stepped near the bed he woke up and rolled over. I stared into his sad blue eyes as if he knew that something was wrong even though he knew he mother for only a few moments. He began crying so I picked him up and carried him around the room for a while. I made my way over to the kitchen and made the baby a bottle. as I sat in a kitchen chair my son sucked on the bottle until he was asleep again. once he was asleep I began crying again. I have never thought of raising my son alone. I never imagined what it would be like without Kushina. As my tears rolled down my face the baby stirred in my arms but remained asleep

"Its OK," I said standing up and putting him back in the crib "I will never let anything happen to you... Naruto" I said as I collapsed on the floor. I woke up the next morning with someone banging on my door. The banging woke the baby so I pick him up and carried him to the door. It was Danzo and the other elder of the village.

"sorry Lord Hokage, but we need to have a meeting now," Said one of the elders. I nodded my head and turned around placing Naruto back in his crib. I did a quick summoning and told the frog to watch over Naruto while I was gone.

"Let's go," I said storming out of the house. We walked through the rubble of the village and made our way to the Hokage's towers which seemed untouched by the attack. I went up to my office and the other sat around my desk

"We need you to make a statement about what happened last night telling the people about what happened to lord third, and that your son is the nine tails jinchuriki," Danzo said

"How heartless are you his wife just died and he has a kid at home" cried the female elder

"No," I said before the elders could continue arguing "I will make a statement the people need to know what happened, but before we do that we need to talk about the Uchiha's," I said

"Why," one of the elders asked

"I fought one last night that claimed to be Madara Uchiha," I said. the whole room was silent so I continued. "I have no proof that this is true, but the Sharingan can control the nine tails so an Uchiha may be responsible for the attack," I said

"that is a serious accusation," said one of the elders who was an Uchiha

"I know, but it still is a possibility" chimed in one of the elders

"But only people with the secret of the Uchiha clan can control it," the Uchiha elder said

"The secret of the Mangekyō Sharingan," I said

"How do you know of that," the Uchiha elder said in surprise

"The man I fought said it, and I know of an ANBU member who has it," I said looking at Donso suspecting him of doing the attack "Shisui Uchiha right?" I asked Danzo

"Yes he has it," Danzo said

"well then bring him in for questioning" I ordered "dismissed," I said as I teleported back home and home. Naruto was still in his crib, but he was awake. I changed him and then fed him all the while he just looked at me with his happy blue eyes and I couldn't help but smile. My smile made him laugh so I did it again. Naruto laughed and causing me to laugh for the first time since Kushina died. I fell asleep with Naruto in my arms on the couch and woke up the next morning with a presence in my house. My hand quickly went for my Kunai, but I saw that they were leaf ANBU

"Damn do you have to sneak up on me like that," I said putting my kunai away

"Sorry lord forth, but Danzo has asked us to update you on the capturing of Shisui Uchiha," the ANBU agent said.

"Oh is he apprehended already" I questioned

"No sir during the capture mission Shisui Uchiha died to burn his eyes in his before his death. He was with another boy Itachi Uchiha. During the battle, his Mangekyō Sharingan awoken. We tried to capture him but Itachi Uchiha managed to escape, and fled the village." The ANBU agent said bowing his head in defeat.

"Damn" I swore under my breath.

"He was able to do so with the help of another Uchiha one in an orange mask." The agent said. My eyes widened with fear

'Why did he help Itachi' I thought in panic

"Dismissed. Thank you" I said to the ANBU before he disappeared. During all of the commotion, Naruto woke up and just lied there quietly in my lap. I went to the kitchen and made Naruto a bottle.

"No one will hurt you as long as I am here," I said to him as he ate. "No one"
