Short Stories From a Bored Guy

Fin was a pretty regular guy, and right now he was doing the most irregular thing of his life, he was being frozen solid in ice. He had invested so much time and money into his trip to Antarctica with the woman of his dreams. He had just married her, a beautiful brunette who clung tightly to him and showered him with compliments, he had gifted her this honeymoon. Apparently his wife wanted to give him a trip to, as she had pushed him into the icy waters and drove the ship away.

Fin was in great shock however as he... woke up? He looked around utterly confused, he was wrapped in heating pads on a pretty comfortable bed as people in white coats walked around him.

Fin looked closer at the people and noticed something odd, they all had sharp smooth features and wore necklaces with a pendant that showed a number. They seemed incredibly graceful and cut through the air as they moved, finally one glanced at him and yelped stumbling back before they said "He's alive!" They sounded terrified.

The others turned to face him all of their expressions scocked and voices higher pitched than normal "This is shocking it's supposed to be dead! this might be a scientific break through!" the person stared at Fin with horrified eyes "Yes" another agreed.

Fin spoke up after a few minutes of being stared at "ummm can I help you? I don't know what you want" one of the people stepped forward "We are scientists in charge of an excavation dig in Antiga, we found you frozen in the ice. We didnt think to check your pulse as we thought you dead." Fin nodded again appearing to think hard. The scientists spoke up again "What year do you think it is?" Fin stared blankly at the strange monotone scientists "Twenty-Twenty-Two" The scientists lifted his head to look Fin directly in the eyes before pointing to a calendar that went unnoticed earlier.

Fin's eyes widened as he looked back at the scientists, he had expected for a little bit of time to pass but.. he was thousands of years in the future! The scientist who had stepped forward opened his mouth to explain "As you can see your time is ancient history for us. To make a long explanation short, after you were frozen in ice the north and south pole melted and are now the only two pieces of land above water, the rest being flooded, we only recently found you in a deep underwater cave. We also just discovered the 'internet' again about four months ago. Human population is about two million as many died in the floods, now we were wondering if you could explain the internet to us."

One of the other scientists stepped forward "The internet seems very" he appeared to think hard "lit, I thought it was so hip I want to understand it" Fin sighed, this would be painful.

Fin spent many weeks teaching them about dark humor and why people thought school shootings were comedy gold, he taught them how to search things. Slowly but surely humanity gained its footing and water levels started to recede as ice started to build, it was years later fin heard something new, the scientists had found a beautiful brunette woman only a mile from where they found him.
