Rise of the Dead

It was a warm day of spring, after the end of pandemic that caused then whole world to shut inside their homes for a whole year. Now that it was over people were finally free from the chains that bound them from socializing , and all over the world people could be seen chilling out their frustrations at every public place. Well thats also the story for Siyam a teenager and his friends ,

"Hey let's check that shop" Nick said to Siyam as they were hanging out with their girlfriends at the mall .

"Nahh let the girls decide I'm too tired " Siyam replied with a smile , He was tired from walking since the entire morning and went to relax on a bench near the group.

It was the second day of the end of lockdown and they were gone to the mall to have a relaxed date after such a long time .

' It's quite busy at the first day i should have waited for a week at least '

Siyam thought as he looked around seeing around the place filled with people . He didn't like being in crowds and was frustrated more than being a shut-in at home.

" Come on getup we're gonna eat something now " Bella said as she approached Siyam.

Siyam looked at the beauty standing in front of him , short hair , round face ,brown eyes , dimples on both sides . He was just staring at what he wanted the most during the lockdown.

Siyam stood up and went near her ,

"Forget the food i wanna eat you right now "

He whispered in her ear and then walked towards the couple waiting for them ,

Bella was shocked and then blushed at how Siyam who felt like a dead soul became a devil after staring at her ,

'I guess it's just him ,too much heat in him ' She thought and then walked to others waiting for her .

They were on the second story of the four storied mall located at the city of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan .

"Hey man you feeling okay ? It seems like you just lost your soul after coming here " Nick asked

"How could he not be okay with all those girls staring at him " Jade added as the group was getting quite a number of looks due to Siyam , who had worked out in the past year to be more than what any girl could want .

Jade was Nicks girlfriend and also went to the same highschool as everyone else . She was 18 years old ,long black hair ,slim figure and flat chest .

"Nope I'm fine and ain't interested in them" Siyam replied shortly and grabbed Bella's hand to keep the looks as few as possible cause he noticed Bella's starting to get nervous .

They went to a traditional restaurant and ordered some rice with chicken and started to chat as they waited for their order.

* I've been so bored *

Was what they were chatting about except for Haider was just making a dull face and glancing at Bella from time to time and just nodding at what they had to tell about how they got how much bored .

*Come one you guys can't you do anything alone*

Was what Siyam was thinking about as he heard their stories about them playing new games and just getting bored of them too and laying on the bed all day .

"Siyam so what did you do ?" Bella asked him as she noticed him being silent ,

Everyone became silent and all the attention was going over to him now .

"Oh me ... Nothing just learning some new stuff , doing some home exercise and games and stuff like writing novels " Siyam answered as he snapped out of his thoughts .

Everyone nodded and then suddenly the waiter arrived and placed the food in front of them .

Half an hour passed as they strolled all over the place shopping ,They were on the second floor when.

*AAAHHHHHHHHH*

A woman's scream was heard at the first floor, everyone looked at the source of the sound, at the entrance of the mall a stream of blood gushed out of a woman's neck and a man was standing there with blood all over his mouth and clothes ,Then the man ran towards a boy standing near and jumped on him and bite his arm . and suddenly the woman laying dead on the floor stood up and also started running.

Screams could be heard all over the mall and the whole place was a frenzy, people on the first floor running towards the second floor. It was a mess all over the place .

Siyam and his group were watching this from the second floor with many other people beside the railing .

"Siyam what's going on?"

Bella's asked in an uneven tone while looking at the calm face of her boyfriend that was on the verge of collapsing a few minutes ago.

" Hey nick we're getting out of here now "

Siyam shouted as he grabbed Bella's hand and started running towards the escalator that lead to the third floor .

The group started running behind him ,

" Shouldn't we go back to the car ? " Nick asked as he followed him.

"You wanna face those people ? " Siyam replied as he pointed at the people crazily running towards the escalator of the first floor.

Nick gulped as he watched the scene of people running crazily over each other as they moved to the second floor.

They reached the third floor and then ran towards the upper story again .

" Where are we going ?" Jade asked as they ran .

"We're not safe here we need to go to an apartment at at the top of the mall " Siyam replied ,.

The mall was only four storied but there were many apartments above it that belonged to various people ranging from rich folks to ambassadors of other countries. These apartments were quite luxurious.

They ran towards the reception at the corner of the fourth floor and Siyam went inside like a mad man then grabbed the various keys hanging on the counter .

They then ran to the elevator leading to the upper stories and went inside .

Everyone was confused and exhausted ,

" Siyam what are we gonna do ? There are stairs leading to these apartments also "

Bella said .

" That's why i took the keys, we're gonna block the stairs and then choose an apartment to rest for a while "

Siyam replied .

"What are those people" Nick said in a frustrated tone.

Siyam looked at him ,

" Some types of zombies from the way the bitten woman stood up after her neck being bitten so wildly and i also saw the boy running towards others crazily like the man " Siyam explained .

Siyam started to use his phone and rang a call .

* Yeah I know stay home *

Then he rang another call

* Hey man you up , track my location and prepare the stuff. Yeah I'm going to the apartments *

The elevator opened and then they entered the hallway that had many doors inside .They then went to the stairs that lead to the emergency stairs and locked it .

"Hmm Room 20 ,16 ,19 ."

Siyam mumbled as he checked the keys he got from the reception.

He went and opened a door of the apartment and then everyone went inside after they checked that it was empty.

It was a one room apartment with a large tv lounge a single room with a double bed a washroom and a single kitchen .

Everyone sat in the T.V lounge and then layed there for at least five minutes .

"How are we gonna go out if there are those things roaming on the bottom floor " Nick started the conversation.

"Maybe the army will get rid of them " Jade added ,

"Don't reply on the army too much we need to find a way ourselves, they have a lot more work to do then to rescue a bunch of teenagers" Siyam said in a stern voice and everyone became silent at his statement .

" I'll think of a way ,you guys get fresh and se that if something is in the kitchen for drinking or eating " Siyam said and then walked towards the main door and went out.

'I need to find something useful'

He thought as he entered the keys of the next apartment and stepped inside.
