Hello! My name is Dakota Reed, or Dr. Reed, or... Whatever you want to call me I suppose. I'm an old, retired Entomologist, that has way too much time on her hands as of late, and not good enough physical ability to make good use of it!
I lie in my bed tired and trying to sleep, when a random thought pops into my head, 'I wonder what it would be like to live in another world?'
I dismiss the thought and close my eyes, unaware that would be the last time I did so...
... In that body at least.
---Later---
I open my eyes and see a sprawling field of red flowers and green grass. I blink, the sight still there. I then bring my hands up to my face to rub my eyes but stop when I find them to not be wrinkly from age.
I then lower my hands and look around, spying a white gazebo with a fiery hair colored woman sitting at it reading a book.
I make my way over, still awestruck from the view, and sit down at one of the chairs under the gazebo's roof.
The woman inside seems to notice me and looks up from the book she was reading, "Hello! My name is Zira. I'm the Goddess of Fire, Reincarnation, and Transmigration. It's a pleasure to meet you."
I look at her in surprise, "A... Goddess? For real?" Zira nods while snapping her fingers, a small spark coming off of them as she does so.
A tea set appears in a burst of fire at the center of the table. Zira then pours herself a cup of tea and then asks if I would like some, "Yes, thank you." Zira then pours me some tea and puts the teapot down, before lifting her cup to her lips and drinking from it, with me doing the same not long after.
After we both set our cups down, Zira leans towards me slightly, her hands propping her head up, "I regret to inform you that you died. You died in your sleep, your old mortal body just not capable of functioning anymore."
I sigh after a moment, before looking into my cup of tea, seeing my reflection show myself when I was in my 20's, "I was gonna go sooner or later." Zira nods before continuing, "I brought you here at the request of Spindel, the Goddess of Arthropods. She took note of your line of work along with your expertise, along with your passion and decided to reward you with a second chance, to which I agreed to help with."
I look at her with shock, "Wait, a second chance?!" Zira nods before taking another sip of her tea, "Spindel should be here any minute now to explain a few things."
Suddenly, a swarm of insects begin to converge into one place, taking the form of a woman. After the last insect makes it way to its place, all the various insects making up the figure then fly or crawl away, revealing a woman with a scorpion tail, and spider legs sprouting from her back, along with an extra set of arms that have mantis scythes on them. To top is all off she has ant-like antenna on her head.
The woman then sits down and looks at me, "Sup." I return the greeting, "Hi?"
Zira then gets our attention, "Now that Spindel is here, we can discuss the details of your reincarnation."
Zira then explains to me how my reincarnation will go, with Spindel jumping in to add a few things every so often.
Zira then talks about the world she'll be sending me to, "Your new world will be one of swords and magic, a land where monsters, magic, and the like are very real."
Zira then gets a large book out from seemingly nowhere and lays it down on the table before opening it, "I'll need to ask you to describe what you want your new body to look like. You can be as imaginative as you'd like, so I won't judge you if you pick something unusual."
I then describe to her what I want to look like. After I finish, she turns the page in her book, "Now, Spindel, I'll need your help for this next part, so get over here."
The two Goddess' huddle together, the book Zira was writing in raised so I can't see what they're doing.
I then decide to stand up and explore the surrounding field, my adventurous self resurfacing now that I can move properly.
I look around, eventually spotting a red and orange butterfly land on one of the red flowers. I kneel down to get a better look at it, 'What a majestic creature. Its wings are so elegant, and just looking at it gives me a feeling of warmth, as if I was standing next to a campfire or a fireplace.'
I then look around some more and see a tree with red leaves and black bark. I walk up to the tree and see a large web, with a large black and red spider in the center.
I decide to observe it from a distance. After a while, I hear Zira call for me. After returning to the gazebo, and sitting down, Zira speaks, "Enjoying the local wildlife?" I scratch the back of my neck in embarrassment, "Maybe? Ha, ha..."
Zira giggles a little, "Now that me and Spindel have created your new body, I will be sending you to the new world."
Zira stands, with me doing the same. A circle of fire surrounds me, the flames doing nothing to harm me.
Zira then waves her hand, "Goodbye, Dakota, live a long and happy life, ok?" I nod while waving back, "I will."
The flames then engulf me, and I black out.
---Later---The New World---
I open my eyes to a tree top canopy, a strange feeling coming from my back. I sit up and look around, noting all the greenery.
I stand up and feel something brush against the back of my legs. I look and see four arachnid-like appendages hanging from my back.
Out of curiosity, I grab one and try bending it along the joints, 'Why is this here?' After playing with it for a bit, I feel something click in my head, and the appendage begins to move on its own.
I try and will it to move in front of me, and it does just that, 'Is this a part of me?' I mess around with the other three appendages, soon getting them to respond to my thoughts.
As I am wondering where I am, I see a light blue panel appear in front of me saying, "Hello, Dakota!" If you are reading this, then that means your reincarnation was successful!"
I continue reading, "To summon your system panel, just think or say, 'System Panel' and it will appear, as long as you intend to summon it. Thats all from us, good luck! -Zira and Spindel."
The message then disappears, "I guess I should look at this 'System Panel' Thingy." I then try to summon the panel, 'System Panel?'
A blue panel appears in front of me, "Oh hey, it actually worked." I look at the panel and see it looks like something from a video game.

I look at the panel for a bit before unsummoning it. I them open my mouth to poke at my canines, 'They're much sharper... Probably to help pierce flesh or armor.'
I then feel my stomach growl, 'Right... My stomach's probably empty... I did just get here after all.' I then pick up a long stick and a rock with a sharp edge, 'I'm glad I watched all those survival shows... And actually, tested to see if they were right.'
I then sharpen the end of the stick until I'm satisfied. I then go to look for something to eat, now armed and ready to fight if need be.
