Reborn in the World of Cultivation with a System

In a busy metropolitan city a teenager can be seen walking lifelessly carrying a heavy backpack. He is wearing spectacles, a bit overweight yet not obese, black hair, lifeless eyes....

"Move James!!!" called a boy, lean yet a bit muscular with brown hair.

James POV

I turned to see Ron calling me and running towards me from the other side of the road. Though he seems to be shouting something... The world seems to slow down as I saw a shadow to my right, slowly turning to the right I saw a truck that slammed into my body....

*BOOM*

I flew straight to the left as I watched Ron standing in shock staring at me in horror... 'hmm, my vision seems to be a bit reddish', was my last thought..

I saw darkness as my body was spasming and convulsing continuously... I open my eyes to see I am in a bed, my head is feeling like it will burst apart. I grit my teeth and try to endure the pain but soon I lose my consciousness.

As I wake up I feel pain all over my body only to see myself covered in bruises.. 'I guess, I failed to notice the bruises all over my body as I was suffering a massive pain in my head.' I started to remember memories which do not belong to me.

I seem to be in an unknown room lying in bed. I came to know that the real owner of this body was the son of the patriarch of Roy family, one of the hegemon of the city. The name of the previous owner of the body was also James.

As I was contemplating on what to do suddenly the door banged open and came in a middle age woman whose eyes were blue and hair brown. She was thin and fragile, hair messy, tear stains on her face. As I saw the woman who entered the room unknowingly came the word 'mother' from my mouth.

As soon as she comes near me she starts crying and sobbing while muttering 'how am I gonna live if you had died'. She sobs for quite a long time. We talk about how father was very angry that someone had tried to kidnap me but failing to do so the assassin tried to murder me but failed.

'He did not fail to assassinate my predecessor or else I would not have been here', I thought.

After crying and sobbing the door of the room banged open.

I looked up from my predecessor's mother to the door to see a muscular stoic man with black hair and brown eyes that contained the paternal love for me.

After a bit of talking and consoling me both of them left the room telling me to rest. They said that they will talk about the incident later...
