322. The Sun Clan Achieve Their Plan

Having nowhere else to go, Li Yan decided to die at Jiangxia Port and weaken Lie Fan's Army as much as possible so that even though he and his army had already died at that time, Liu Biao's reinforcement who arrived at Jiangxia could have a fighting chance against Lie Fan's Army and since he has made his mind, Li Yan decided to go all out and even joined on the battle personally to increase the morale of his men.

Li Yan's presence in the frontline raised the morale of his men that was stationed at Jiangxia Port, which almost overwhelmed Huang Zu's men who tried to capture them and Li Yan taken as prisoner.

Fortunately for them, Huang Zhong and the Qinglong Army help them after receiving a letter from Chen Deng informing them of Huang Zu's Surrender and the objective now is to capture a general named Li Yan alive.

So Huang Zhong ordered his army to immediately attack Li Yan's men who were attacking Huang Zu's men, and it's luck that Huang Zu and Li Yan's men had different symbols on their armor which made Huang Zhong and his men easier to identify which one's allies or foe.

Li Yan and his men weren't surprised by the attack coming from behind, but the number difference still overwhelmed them and caused Li Yan to order a retreat where they moved east of Jiangxia's port.

Huang Zhong who meets with the leader of Huang Zu's men at Jiangxia's port takes command of their army and leads them alongside the Qinglong Army to pursue Li Yan and his men.

On the other side of Jiangxia, Dian Wei, Zhang Chao, Chen Deng, and Zang Hong enter Jiangxia with a battalion of elite units after receiving words from Deng Long that Huang Zu has surrendered and his army now pursuing and capturing Li Yan and his men.

Inside Jiangxia, they saw Huang Zu's men capturing Li Yan's men and having them gathered in a large area. Behind the four of them, there's Huang Chao and Wen Ping whose hand was tied up with a rope and following them from behind.

Since Huang Zu has surrendered, the two of them will be freed as a gift to Huang Zu and solidify his loyalty to Lie Fan, which been agreed by Chen Deng and Zang Hong as Huang Zu could play a vital role in Lie Fan's navy as Huang Zu's navy could take on Lie Fan's more advanced navy for some time shows his ability.

Arriving at the Governor's Castle, they saw that Huang Zu and Deng Long were waiting for them alongside Huang Zu's retainers who supported his decision and the ones who didn't have been either killed or imprisoned.

Huang Chao and Wen Ping who saw Huang Zu were surprised as they thought that Huang Zu was defeated and even killed, which left Huang Chao crying previously when he was told that they would enter Jiangxia thinking that his father was dead.

Now seeing his father standing alive and well in front of him, Huang Chao was surprised causing him to stand still while Wen Ping was angry as he knew that Huang Zu had betrayed Liu Biao and chose to join Lie Fan.

Wen Ping: "Huang Zu! How dare you betray Lord Liu Biao?! You have lived comfortably in Jiangxia thanks to the supplies My Lord sent you and this is how you repay him?!"

Huang Zu: "Humph Wen Ping you fool, the relationship between me and Liu Biao is a win-win situation, he needed my fleet to protect him from the Sun Clan and Lu Clan so I was never his subordinate more like a partner."

Wen Ping: "That still betrayal to Lord Liu Biao! Without his supplies, you can't expand your navy to such size as it has now and can't even afford to feed and pay them! He also allows you to have a special authority over Jiangxia which shows the goodwill Lord Liu Biao has for you!"

While this was happening, outside of Jiangxia on the port the battle was going fiercely with Li Yan and his army's fate hanging in balance, as Huang Zhong led the Qinglong Army and Huang Zu's men attacking them heavily.

On the other side of the Yangtze River, the Sun Clan war against Liu Biao was going well for them. It can even said to be going very well because Lie Fan and his army absorbed most of Liu Biao's attention.

Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County were attacked at the same time by the Sun Clan. The sudden attack caught Liu Biao's men who were stationed there off guard and allowed the Sun Clan to advance.

Sun Ce and Zhou Yu coordinate the army with impeccable coordination, allowing the Sun Clan Army to march through without any resistance whatsoever.

As the Sun Clan's relentless advance continued, panic spread throughout Liu Biao's army stationed at Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County. The suddenness and ferocity of the attack had caught them completely off guard, leaving them overwhelmed and desperate for reinforcements.

Liu Biao's general wasted no time in sending urgent letters to Liu Biao at Xinye, pleading for immediate support. With the Sun Clan's forces pressing hard, time was of the essence for them.

Upon receiving their desperate pleas, Liu Biao sent Cai Mao, who was tasked with leading a contingent of 100,000 soldiers to reinforce his soldiers at Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County.

However, even with Cai Mao's contingent mobilized and on the march toward Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County, the reality remained that it would take time for them to arrive at the besieged regions.

Meanwhile, the Sun Clan's forces continued their relentless advance, their coordination and determination posing a formidable challenge to Liu Biao's already beleaguered troops.

As the days passed and the situation grew increasingly dire, Liu Biao's men braced themselves for the inevitable clash, hoping against hope that reinforcements would arrive in time to bolster their defenses and repel the Sun Clan's onslaught.

As Cai Mao hurriedly led his troops toward the besieged regions, he remained unaware of the cunning strategy being orchestrated by Zhou Yu, who was showcasing his brilliance for the first time to the world.

Zhou Yu, recognizing the urgency of the situation, swiftly devised a coordinated assault plan to further overwhelm Liu Biao's already stretched forces at Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihuj County.

With meticulous precision, he dispatched Cheng Pu and Han Dang to launch a surprise attack on Yudu County, while Huang Gai and Zhu Zhi were tasked with assaulting Jianchang County. Meanwhile, Zhou Yu himself, alongside Sun Ce, would lead the charge in Haihun County.

This tripartite frontal assault left no room for Liu Biao's army to maneuver or send reinforcements to the other besieged counties. Each attack was carefully synchronized to create maximum chaos and confusion among their enemies.

Cai Mao led his Army to race against time to reach their destination but was met with unexpected challenges and obstacles along the way. The Sun Clan's forces under Zhou Yu's brilliant strategy, seemed to anticipate their every move.

They hinder their progress and further delay their arrival to the embattled regions like the Sun Clan Navy blocking them from crossing the Yangtze River, which gives more time for Zhou Yu's strategy to work perfectly.

Back at Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County, Liu Biao's troops found themselves caught in a desperate struggle for survival. With the Sun Clan's onslaught intensifying and their reinforcements still en route, their hopes for repelling the enemy's advance decreased with each passing moment.

Unknown to Sun Ce and the rest of the Sun Clan, Jia Xu, a master strategist, had dispatched the Oriole to aid in their campaign against Liu Biao.

With the battle of Jiangxia still raging, the Oriole shifted its focus to the entirety of Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County. Employing a combination of deceit, bribery, intimidation, and coercion, they targeted Liu Biao's high-ranking officials, forcing them to either commit suicide or defect to the Sun Clan's side.

Alongside Zhou Yu's masterful plan being unfolded, the Sun Clan's forces, bolstered by the Oriole's underhanded actions, gained a decisive advantage.

By the time Cai Mao and his army finally reached Haihun County, they were met with a grim reality where the Sun Clan had already seized control of the three counties and were now consolidating their control.

The combined efforts of Zhou Yu's strategic brilliance and the Oriole's covert operations paved the way for the Sun Clan's triumphant conquest, leaving Liu Biao's territories of Yudu, Jianchang, and Haihun County, in their grasp.

Cai Mao seeing this decided to retreat toward Mianjun Port which was a Port Town that was constructed as a crossing point between the South and North of Jing Province, fearing that the Sun Clan would focus on repelling him and his army not knowing that this decision will lead to further downfall of Liu Biao's grasp over Jing Province, allowing certain someone plan to bore fruition in the future.
