James' body felt both relieved and weak, drained of so much energy in such a short period of time. All of the tense situations that resulted from Jessica's behavior left James feeling unsettled and utterly disturbed. But James was lucky because Jessica wasn't suspicious at all and didn't know about the agreement between James and Selena. What Jessica should not know more than that is about Selena's child who is not actually James's biological child.

 "You're just saying things that don't matter," James said. He was a little annoyed that Jessica had been playing around with him all this time. He then left the dining table to calm himself down.

 Jessica smiled meaningfully, Selena was about to follow James but couldn't leave Jessica alone. Selena followed James with the intention of persuading James to apologize to Jessica. Selena didn't want James to continue misbehaving in front of Jessica.
