Pokemon: Farmer's Life, With Redheads

This is not my room's ceiling, was the first thought I had when I woke up.

Sitting up and looking around I saw that I was in a unfamiliar room. There was a desk, a closet, a shelf with a potted plant on it and of course a bed. Looking out of the window on the side showed me that it was early morning.

Well this was definitely not my home, or my body, I thought while looking at my hands. They were the size of a child's hand, but now that I begin to think about what was going on, a thought came to me.

I didn't know who I was.

I could remember some things about my life, like that I was a farmer. I have lived my whole life on a farm, and was pretty good at it if I say so myself. I know that I was going to inherit the farm from my parents, not that I can remember how they looked or what their names were.

I couldn't even remember my own name, though I do remember that I was 18 years old, my birthday was just yesterday.

I was about to get out of the bed to investigate more, when I got a lot of memories forced into my head all of a sudden.

Let me tell you, that hurts.

A lot.

After about five minutes of a killer headache, it finally settled down and I could think well again.

So I was in the world of pokemon it seems.

Wow.

I don't think I died, so why was I reincarnated. Though I do have to say I was a big fan of pokemon.

Hey, you need a hobby while waiting for the crops to grow.

I don't really know what's going on, but my new name seems to be Marcus Grain, I am currently 7 years old. My parents, in this life, and I lived in Kanto before this. They both worked in the military. My father was a aura user and had mastered the ability to a high level, while my mother was a psychic user of the same level. They were both highly accomplished, but sadly because of that they were away a lot.

It seems I was lucky enough to have been born with both aura and psychic in this life. From when I was 4 years old my parents trained me in both their ability's, because of that I matured faster than other kids. When I was 6 years old, I had a basic mastery of both aura and psychic. My parents were proud of me for that, and I got a diploma for both disciplines, it seems you are considered an adult legally if you have mastered the basics of psychic. Because your brain develops faster, and normally children as young as me won't have the basics mastered before they were at least 15, at the youngest.

When I became 7 years old my parents were supposed to come home from a expedition, but it wasn't to be, they seem to have been in a accident and they passed away. I wasn't allowed to now what happened, I was told it was classified. That made me pretty angry for a while.

While we weren't very close, because they were away a lot, at least when they were at home they were good parents to me.

A while later when they were looking for where to put me, now that I was a orphan, they remembered I had a grandfather who had a farm in Forria, it seems there was an extra county in the pokemon world, at least I had never heard of it before coming here.

The country Forria lay's between Paldea, Kalos and the Galar regions. It is about the size of the Melemele island of the Alola region, and has 3 city's with a lot of little village around it. The farm is on the east side of the island, 4 km away from a village called Olli. Just west of the farm is a river that leads to a lake called Marlene lake.

Forria is a fertile country with a lot of farms. There are many forests and lakes in the country making it a peaceful place. On the west side of the island there are two giant volcanoes but they have been inactive for two centuries now, and on the north side there are the mountain ranges. It can get cold there so, ice type pokemon like to live there.

This country doesn't seem to have its own regional, or original pokemon species. But it does have pokemon from a lot of the other regions on it.

To get to this country you have to either come by boat or by plain to the airport of Morla, the city on the east side of the island.

Anyways, it was decided that I would go live there to help with the farm, 2 weeks of travel later and I arrived in Forria.

Only too find out my grandfather also passed away of old age 9 months ago, the farm had been abandoned for a few years already because of my grandfathers old age, which is a sad thing for a farmer like me. Now it is overgrown all over the place, and almost all of the pokemon that lived here have already left or been taken in by others.

Just yesterday when I came here I found out about this. The Village Mayor Thomas, was the one who told me everything. He offered to help look for another place to live with someone, but it seems I told him that I wanted to go live there, and that I could take care of myself and the farm, which now with the memories of my first life? I could definitely do.

When he was about to protest that I was to young, I told him about my basic mastery diploma's in Aura and Psychic, and that I was considered an adult because of that. After a long talk he allowed me to live here, but only after he was reassured I could take good care of myself.

But at the end he seemed to have thought of something. It seems that there is a orphanage close to here were there are 4 girls who have it difficult there because they have ability's like me. 2 aura users and 2 psychic users, and they cannot control these powers well. It seems no one here knows how to use it so they couldn't be trained in it.

He asked me if I could let them stay at the farm with me, and help them train in their ability's. Of course they would help me on the farm, and I would be compensated a little for taking care of them. It seems he still thought me living by myself would be lonely, he sure switched fast from thinking a child shouldn't live without an adult around.

After some thought it seems I accepted. The old me thought it would be nice too have some help around the farm, and company who aren't my pokemon.

Yes it seems I have pokemon. A Riolu from my father as a aura partner, and a Ralts form my mother as a Psychic partner. Though my Ralts has already evolved to a Kirlia. I have both pokemon for 2 years now and am very close with them.

This is something that amazes me. My own pokemon.

I couldn't hold myself from meeting a pokemon, so I picked up the 2 small round, red and white balls that laid on the desk, where I now remember I put them and threw them in the air.

"Come out Riolu and Kirlia." I said feeling very excited.

Out of the 2 poke balls a red beam came, which condensed until both a Riolu and Kirlia stood in front of me.

"Riolu.", "Kirlia." They said in unison.

I bent down and greeted both a good morning, acting like my usual self. It wouldn't do to act different now.

Though I didn't really worry about that, though we lived different life's our personality was practically the same.

After getting my fill of seeing actual real pokemon, I went to the door in the room with them.

It seems this was the farm house of my grandfather, it had 3 rooms.

The bedroom I sleep in, which formerly belonged to my grandfather. The room trough the door was the living area with a kitchen. It was a nice little place, it had a standard kitchen with a few cupboard to store the kitchen supplies and non-perishable food. Sadly it didn't have a refrigerator or other electrical equipment, the old appliances were sold when the house became abandoned. There was a table with 6 chairs around it for where I could eat my food next to the kitchen.

And on the other side of the room there was a little sitting area, a couch, a few chairs and a small table. Around it were also some shelves, next to a chair there was a nice fireplace made of bricks. In this room there were 4 doors, the front and back door, the door to my room and the last door went to the room which was empty when I came here, but now had the same supplies as my bedroom, except 4 beds, 2 closets and 2 desks. The mayor had some people deliver that yesterday, for the orphans who would come live here with me.

The children would come here tomorrow, so I had today to prepare some stuff.

I wasn't really sure how that would go, I don't remember having any siblings and I definitely wasn't a parent yet at my age.

I would do my best to help as much as I could, let's hope it goes well.

First thing first, I should get a look around the farm, and the state it is in.

Going trough the backdoor with Riolu and Kirlia, I can see that I have my work cut out for me.

The field is overgrown with weeds and rocks there were even small tree's already. It seems the growth cycle of nature is faster in this world.

This will help with the farming later, which made me happy.

Walking around there farm, I find the barn were the animals/pokemon were when the farm was active. Inspecting it, I can see it is still in a relatively good condition for being abandoned for a while. Once I have the funds I will need to clean it up a bit, and repair some small weathered and broken parts. Then I can raise new animals/pokemon here.

From my memories I know that in this world, normal animals also exist. So chickens and cows are raised, though of course Miltank milk and Chansey egg's are more popular.

Partially next to and behind the barn is a big pond of water. Right now it is empty, but it will be a good place to raise fish in.

South of the pond is a big grass field that is empty right now, the grass is overgrown and will need to be cut, but it can become a nice field for later.

Around the farm is a fence that could use some repairing in some place's, but that can be done later.

All in all, it needs a lot of work, but I can definitely work with this.

We walk back to the house were next to it is a small shed with farming supplies.

It still has equipment from when my grandfather worked in the fields, but it could use a upgrade soon.

The most important thing for me is a book in it, where the growth cycles and other information from plants of all type is recorded.

Turning to my pokemon I explain, "All right, I need to go to town for some shopping and I need one of you to stay to look after the farm while we are away. Could you do that for me Kirlia."

"Ki Kirlia." She replied, with a nod.

"Thank you Kirlia, we will be back soon."

Going back into the house, I get a bag and my money, 20.000 Poke dollars. It is enough to live on my own for a short while, but not enough for more than a month. Luckily the mayor will bring some extra for me tomorrow when he arrives with the girls.

I walk trough the front door with Riolu and greet the last pokemon that stayed here, even after my grandfather past away.

"Hello Arcanine."

Yes my grandfather had a Arcanine, he stayed loyal to my grandfather even after he passed away and now guards the farm. So while he isn't my pokemon, he still stays here.

"Arcanine, could you give us a ride to the village. I need to do some shopping." While Arcanine doesn't want to be my pokemon he is all right with helping around.

"Arc." He replied while laying down allowing us to get on his back.

Me and Riolu quickly did so, and after that Arcanine ran to the village. We were there very fast because of him.

Arriving at the village I quickly went to the market to buy myself food for a few day's. Of course I bought extra for the others too, but I could come back with them later for more and other necessities. In total it cost me around 2000 pokedollars, but that was mostly because I also bought spices and other essentials. 

Normally I would look around more, but the farm wasn't ready for anything yet anyway.

First I needed to clear it up a bit.

After getting everything I wanted for today I went back home.
