What would you wish for, if you had the chance?

Power? Love? A world that truly revolved around you?

"This is bullshit, you know that, right?" You frown at the documents in front of you, reading the words carefully. "Those 'Waifu Economy' things are just pointless wish fulfillment, with no real story behind them."

Pick a world, pick a power set, pick a harem of cute girls… What's the point? Where's the story, the struggle, the end goal? Why in the world would some presumably omnipotent being grant you, of all people, this opportunity?

There's no answer, to either your words or your thoughts, aside from the distant impression of a low chuckle. "Because it amuses you, huh?" You mutter, looking back at the forms to fill out. This is going to be your life, going forward, assuming it isn't some strange dream. Your story… Write what you know, right?

What did you want from life? Cute girls who are genuinely head over heels for you? The power to control your own life? A life of adventure, without the risk of painful death? You had options, for certain.

"Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, but the Pokémon are all gijinka." Humans with powers, based around Pokémon. None of that toxic 'poke girls' bullshit, just cute girls with powers. You'd have selected Pokémon itself, but being a trainer doesn't sound nearly as exciting as being able to fight on your own.

"Let's say… I'm the only male, and they all find me extremely attractive." I don't want them hunting me down or anything, but the ability to charm and seduce anyone you like certainly couldn't hurt. "Oh, and I'll get stronger via sex." A consistent way to gain power, based off my own charm and charisma.

Is it wish fulfillment? Absolutely! But if this is some strange fantasy or dream, why not go all out, right? The distant impression of giggles seems to agree, at the very least. If anything, this should be entertaining.

Just some fine print to go over, little details to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's… Sexually permissive society, no risk of diseases and such, and a general laid back attitude that Pokémon is famous for. Give you your adventure when you seek it out, but downtime should be like Animal Crossing levels of cozy.

Sometimes you'll want to stay home and pamper my girls, right?

Now, then, onto the 'waifu' portion. Oh, hey, a 'surprise me' option. Extra points to spend customizing your girls, in exchange you won't remember any of this section when the new world starts… You guess that'd make this a trust thing, right? Future you will have to trust that past you chose good partners. A good mix of types and personalities, with kinks and interests you'd find attractive… Yeah. Yeah! You can do this.

… This is going to take some time. Future you had better appreciate this.

"So, this is it, huh?" The clearing you're in is fairly beautiful. A picturesque forest clearing, with dew-touched grass beneath you and light filtering in through the leaves. "My 'perfect world'." The air tastes fresh and sweet, the wind refreshing as it blows through your hair. It's unlikely the weather will be like this everywhere, but as starts go, this is pretty nice.

Looking yourself over, you're rather surprised to discover your clothing has changed. Instead of a regular 'jeans and a t-shirt' look, you've got on a pair of shorts and a long-sleeved button down shirt. In pink.

Well, it can't really be avoided, can it? You did choose Mew as a base, didn't you? Something weak to begin with, but with the potential to become legendary as you grow in power. You probably look adorable right now, absolutely irresistible to all the beautiful girls you'll meet on your adventure.

Ah, but for the moment… You reach out towards the nearby grass and try to call up the odd feeling inside you. It feels different, out of place, unfamiliar, and it responds as you think about it, imagining it reaching out from your hands and brushing through the dewy leaves. They sway, gently, but pushing them about like a light breeze seems to be all that you can do for the moment.

Too weak to really be out on your own, but the clearing seems safe for the moment. All you have to do is be careful until you meet the first of your 'destined lovers'… Whoever she is. Ah, you can barely wait! You're so excited!

"…" Ah… Your stomach is rumbling. Are you really that hungry? You suppose, if this is a brand-new body, it'd be created with an empty stomach. Maybe you should look around for food of some kind? Oh! Over at the far end of the clearing, there's a tree with big blue fruit growing from it!

Rushing up, you find one within easy reach and get it down, inspecting the rough outer skin. It's like an orange, but a vibrant blue in color… This would be an Oran berry, from the games, right? If things are the same, not only should this be filling, but they should have medicinal benefits as well! Best to fill your pockets with these, once you've had your fill.

There's a rustling off to the side as you scoop up an armful of the fruit, causing you to freeze in place. Could this be… Is it time already? Is that her, your 'waifu', your soul mate, your destined lover? This is the starting point of your story, the beginning of your journey.

Excitement bubbles up inside of you, your stomach rumbling once more as you turn and look in the direction of the sound expectantly. This… This is it! Time to make a good first impression!

You clutch the berries tightly to your chest, looking on as the newcomer stumbles to a halt. She's… She's… She's so cute! Is this her, your first 'waifu'? "Um… Hello!" You call, shifting the berries in your arm and waving a free hand towards her.

She goes even more rigid, face coloring slightly as she gives a very minute wave back. "U-um… I didn't… I didn't know anyone would be here." Her words barely reach you from across the clearing, so you head a bit closer to better hear.

"I'm a bit lost, actually." You laugh, trying to be nonchalant about things. "I don't suppose you know-" Ah, she's rather quick to shake her head, though that may be to ward off the blush on her cheeks.

"I was just wandering in the mist. I didn't expect to find a clearing like this." She explains, crossing her arms over her chest. You know… Now that she's drawing attention to it, she's got a bit of a bust, huh? Though if you had to guess, her ass is probably her best feature.

"Oh, right. What's 'the mist'?" Best stay on track, right?

"Eh? The mist is… The parts of the world that don't make sense. They're always changing, so it can be easy to get lost in them, but if you keep going, you'll wind up at a settlement eventually. That's just how it works." Oh, so it's like the 'Mystery Dungeon' part, then. Places in between, that change at random.

"And they're filled with wild Pokémon?" You venture a guess.

"Mirages… Or Shadows or Shades or whatever you want to call them." She nods seriously. "They aren't really people. Sometimes girls just come out of the mist, though… Like you? I guess?"

"Well, yeah, but I'm a guy." You explain.

"Oh… Is that what you are?" She nods, thinking it over. "Hmm… Well, how about I walk you back to my settlement? It's easy enough to get where you want to go if you know where you want to end up."

"That sounds-" You cut off as your stomach gurgles again. Right, you still haven't eaten yet, huh? "Aha, sorry…"

"Let's eat first, then." Your new friend agrees with your thoughts, gesturing to a spot in the shade of the tree. "You can tell me more about yourself. What's your name? What type are you? Do 'Guy's have an evolved form?"

Well, she's certainly interested, it seems. "I'm Naruto You can also can me Alex… A Mew, actually, I guess. 'Guy' is… Something else. I'm a psychic type."

"Oh, okay. Alex is a pretty name." The girl nods, blushing as soon as she realizes what she said. "I'm T-Tracy. I'm a Turtwig, a grass type."
