How Stupid Was He?!

Elle thought the car ride would be silent until Scott gruffly spoke up about five minutes in. "Cherry says you're trying to go to vet school."

She really had talked about her, hadn't she? Elle supposed she must have been bored being stuck in their room all day. She probably called her husband a lot and the girl she was busy working on was a hot topic. 

"Yeah. I should be hearing back starting in January. I'm excited and nervous at the same time," she confessed. 

"I'm sure you'll get in somewhere."

That was almost exactly what Cherry said. Those two really were on the same wavelength even though they didn't seem anything alike at a glance. She supposed that was what happened when you were in a serious relationship with someone over a long period of time. 

"Thanks." 

"So, what made you want to be a vet?" Scott asked.
