Chapter 116 - Incoming War

People were gathered within the castle halls to discuss the incoming army that would arrive around a week or so depending on their pace. They were all heavily armed, which caused them to take a short break.

Using the eyes of the infected, Ryuu gauges that most elites are C class while regular soldiers are at least D class level of skills and abilities. He pity how these people are going to die after seeing them saying goodbye to their lovers and mother's.

Unfortunately, this was a war where morals were thrown out of the window while Ryuu could prevent it but using [ hypnosis ] wouldn't always work against everyone and eventually someone would catch on and stop his manipulation.

Furthermore, residents of Talosheim also have families and lovers that they cared for. Everyone couldn't sit down and negotiate since people of the Amid Empire wouldn't rest until every scrap of Vida race was exterminated.

Ryuu doesn't feel anything killing them, only feels pity but won't go out of his way to stop them. He could only hope to devour them and not let their body go to waste.

"I've already sent some scouts and a base from where their pace would arrive in a week or two."

He shared with Van who nodded as every one that he trusted shared their opinion on the incoming battle.

"Finally! I was itching for a good fight!"

Borkus exclaimed being fueled with adrenaline to fight some people since monsters in the dungeon are too predictable due to their low intellect.

"Fool! Your killing intent is making every quiver!"

Zadiris scolded those weak like Ryuu's women who hadn't experienced a Rank 9 Zombie Hero. He is a person capable of single handedly slice through the neck of a dragon.

He is the strongest in terms of strength and capabilities since he was an A class adventurer when he was alive.

"Ah sorry, I got too excited."

"It's fine, Brokus-san."( Mitsuri )

"Have you seen any vampires?"

The one who spoke was a pale skin beauty with red hair and pointed ears. She was a Noble born vampire which are people turned into Pure blood vampire while vampires made by Noble born vampires are called Subordinate Vampires.

Her name was Eleanora who had betrayed the vampire that worships an Evil god and devotes herself to Van after witnessing him destroy a person's soul.

"I didn't have them but most likely close by in the mercenary group."

Apart from the army of the kingdom there are also mercenaries who joined the fight. The difference between a mercenary group to an adventurer is that they normally take any jobs and have a larger group than adventurers.

Though Ryuu knows virtually everything in this world, take it with a grain of salt knowing that there could be mistakes and differences in the fictional story compared to the one he is experiencing.

"Then our plan is the same."

Van said as he had all prepared several plans in case his first plan fails, namely using disease created from his Death attribute magic that doesn't affect anyone influenced by the Death attribute charm which meant it excluded Ryuu and his group.

However, Ryuu is able to make antibodies to contract the disease to not affect his lovers but he didn't have to as their [ Aura ] could shield them against it.

Going back to the plan of war, Van had created three layers of wall with the outermost layer thinner than the other that was meant to break because they are actual golem that he made.

They have an element of surprise and would cause panic among themselves as everyone slowly drains after the disease. Even if they use Purification it would be too late.

Only the vampires would be left due to their resistance against poison and disease but Van also prepared using mercury mirrors that could intensify light which would burn the vampires.

"Then I'll go ahead and scout. Alex and Justine try to not get ahead of themselves, Shinobu tries to use your poison at minimum to avoid affecting the others. Kie keep yourself at a distance and try to support the others, namely the wounded, when Misturi and Nezuko try to keep the enemies from reaching Kie."

"Okie dokie! Blue and I will protect mom!"

"You can count on us."

"I'll try my best to help."

Nezuko felt excited when her pet raptors gave a small roar in agreement while Mitsuri gave a strong nod and Kie slightly anxious about the whole ordeal but took a deep breath and changed her expression since she already knew this was going to happen and didn't want to be useless.

"Come on, what do you think I am? A brute."

"Of course not….your much worse than that."

"I hate you."

"I love you too."

Ryuu laughed while Justine glared at him and tried punching him but evaded all of them making everyone sweatdrop.

"Don't mind them and we will make sure to provide our help the best we can."

Trese reassured them having felt that they were more manageable than the monsters and creatures from her own world.

She always hoped that humans and monsters from her world would get along but after spending time in Lambda and learning it's history knows that people always do not come to understand when they have different views and values.

Afterward, Ryuu decided to head to the church with Kie and Trese. It was well known that gods exist in this world therefore have stronger faith. And those gods are able to see what their followers see and even send divine messages to their most devoted followers.

Though, sending a divine message isn't like chatter rather those who hear the message of a god always misinterprets them if not careful. One of said misinterpretations was S class Adventure "Thunderclap", Scheinder who was viewed as an ally of Alda and Amid but in truth is actually helping Vida races.

The gods sent a message about his true nature yet the word of "Scheinder is dangerous or an enemy" was misinterpreted as "that man is in danger" which made the people view that their god was concerned for his being.

"Was our prayer heard by Goddess Vida?"

Kie asked as she was a religious person and believed in gods. She had learned about Vida and her action that made Kie sympathize since Vida only wanted to make her children stronger to protect themselves.

"She did, however due to her wound she's likely in slumber and could send out divine protection or message."

The last Divine message that Vida ever conjured was from roughly two hundred years ago after the fall of Talosheim at the hands of Mirg Shield nations. The content was about Van's arrival to be the Holy son of Vida.

In truth he is actually her hero, Zakkart that she summoned a hundred thousand years ago but only a fragment of his soul that clumped together with the other three Creation minded heroes.

"I wonder if our gods from our world also do this."

Trese wondered if she had met the God of War and Goddess of death, Ibu and it wouldn't be strange that other gods exist.

"The likelihood they follow the same system of how god is in our world is high."

"Greetings, I'm glad you people are praying for our Goddess Vida."

The one who spoke was the lich who managed the church of Vida and Talos, Nuaza. He was a titan with a rotten face yet had a friendly spirit around him.

"We only came by to pray. Perhaps it would help Goddess Vida from her wound."

"It would surely do and I heard that the enemy are marching. I pray for your safety."

"Thank you, Nuaza."

The Titan Lich seemingly smiled from his decaying flesh, pleased that Ryuu showed concern for their goddess. They soon headed back preparing for the incoming battle.

A week had gone by and the army had stationed close to the kingdom of Talosheim. Everyone was all ready like Trese used her shadow to mold an armor similar to Time-skipped Jin woo shadow armor.

Kie was wearing a cloak that amplified her mana Control and staff that allowed her to fully utilize magic while Nezuko light armor for protection.

Mitsuri, Kanae and Shinobu only wore their Demon slayer uniform and Justine wore a leather jacket with ninja cargo pants and combat boots.

"I guess it's time to do some snipping and slicing."

Ryuu said with his main body at the front lines while his clone was at the height to do some sniping.
