The 2 different energy sources, and they were not standing still. After Fares realized what was going on, he turned and left for the tree hole, to wait for his friend.

'What the hell? What type of mating sucks out life from a few meters away.' Fares thought, his brain going wild with different theories.

Yes, Smooka was right in the middle of the field mating, that is, according to his movements. Using his energy, Fares could discern the energy flow, and so he did. But what he saw has shocked him to the core.

Smooka's familiar energy was mixing with a closely similar one. Together, they were sucking the energy out of the surroundings through the earth and into the other squirrel's belly, where the energy mixed.

While he waited inside the tree hole, Fares cultivated to take his mind off of what had happened, and not long after he finally forgot and focused solely on cultivation.
