Finding out

Haneul walked outside the room after making herself look presentable. Even though it was her own house, she had to get accustomed to it anyway. She walked out thinking her husband, or friend in her case, would still be asleep on such an ungodly duty hour of hers, but there he was, in the kitchen with an apron on, cooking for the woman.

"Haneul?" Yeom Tae quickly turned to notice the woman holding her handbag as if leaving. "Don't leave without breakfast."

Haneul looked at the clock on the wall and saw it was 5 am. She could spare some time.

"Do you want my help?" Haneul asked.

"No, I'm almost done." Yeom Tae said, bringing the dishes to the table.

Haneul sat and leaned over the table to see what the man had cooked. It was kimchi jjigae (Kimchi stew) with rice and steamed eggs. Pajeon (Savory Pancakes) were also included as a side.

"Do you usually wake up this early and have such a breakfast?" Haneul asked.
