Jack woke up feeling surprisingly well-rested. He had managed to fall asleep easily in new place and now felt refreshed. He stretched lazily, the morning light filtering through the curtains, casting soft shadows on the walls of his small room.
Yawning, he slipped out of bed and headed toward the bathroom, hoping to get his day started. As he reached the door, however, he realized it was locked. He knocked gently, and from inside came a soft knock in response—a signal that someone was in there.
"Guess I'll have to wait," Jack muttered to himself, rubbing his eyes and turning back down the hallway.
He made his way to the kitchen, thinking a cup of coffee would be a good way to kill some time. Opening the cupboard, he found it… disappointingly empty. No coffee, no sugar—nothing. Jack sighed in frustration, staring at the empty shelves. Looks like this girls doesn't drink coffee. He need to buy it.
"Just my luck," he grumbled. "No coffee, no bathroom."
As he leaned against the counter, resigning himself to a caffeine-free morning, he heard soft footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw Lena walking out of the bathroom, her damp blonde hair cascading down her back, the tips still faintly orange. She was dressed in a cute pajama set, a light pink shirt with tiny cartoon cats printed on it, and matching pants. The outfit was simple yet endearing, giving her a youthful and relaxed appearance.
"Bathroom's free now," she said, smiling at Jack.
"Oh, thanks," Jack said with a nod, grateful to finally get his turn. He quickly made his way to the bathroom, relieved that he wouldn't have to wait any longer.
Once inside, he took a quick shower, the warm water helping him wake up fully. As he washed his hair, he thought about the previous day, the awkward introduction, the unexpected tension, and then the moment of relief when it all seemed to smooth over. Living with two women was definitely going to take some adjusting, but so far, it didn't seem too bad.
After drying off and dressing for work, Jack headed back into the living room, his mind focused on the day ahead. Just as he was about to grab his bag and head out the door, Lena appeared again, standing in front of him with an expectant look on her face.
"Jack, wait," she said, stopping him in his tracks.
He looked at her, curious. "What's up?"
She crossed her arms lightly, her expression friendly but firm. "We need to talk about a few things. Like, after you get back from work, we should figure out a schedule for the bathroom and showers. It's not going to work if we're constantly running into each other like this."
Jack nodded, realizing she had a point. "Yeah, that makes sense. We probably need to get on the same page about work times too. It'll help us avoid, well… awkward situations."
Lena nodded softly. "Exactly. We should all know each other's schedules so no one's stuck waiting too long or walking in on something they shouldn't."
Jack smiled, appreciating her practical approach. "Sounds like a good plan. I'll be back later in the evening, so we can figure it out then."
"Great," Lena said, smiling in return. "We'll talk later."
With that, Jack grabbed his bag and headed out the door, feeling a bit more settled about the living situation. Sure, there were still adjustments to be made, but at least they were on the same page about handling things.
