Chapter 1My husband sucked my blood (One-shot)

Venus awoke on her 18th birthday with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Little did she know that this day would take a turn unlike any other. The presence of Paulo, her persistent suitor, added an air of normalcy to the day. He accompanied her with unwavering dedication, hoping that today would be the day she finally said yes.

As the day unfolded, Paulo's company became overshadowed by an unexpected twist of fate. In a secluded spot, where only the two of them could be seen, Venus prepared to give Paulo the answer he had been eagerly awaiting. However, before she could speak, a mysterious and strikingly handsome man appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, holding her at a distance of five meters from Paulo.

Confusion gripped Venus as she tried to understand the identity of this stranger. "How can you be another man's girlfriend if you were destined to be my wife?" the enigmatic man proclaimed with an air of confidence that left Venus bewildered.

"What are you talking about? Who are you? Why are you so fast?" Venus questioned, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

"Venus, are you really eager to know your husband's identity?" he teased, his words cryptic and perplexing.

As Venus attempted to make sense of the situation, the stranger uttered words that seemed to defy comprehension. Suddenly, she found herself lifted off her feet, cradled in the arms of this mysterious man as they ascended to the clouds. Panic set in as she demanded answers.

"What did you do to him? Where are you taking me to?" she implored, her voice a mixture of fear and defiance.

"I just removed his memory about the scene that happened earlier. Don't be so noisy," he replied dismissively.

Before she could protest further, Venus found herself standing in front of a dark and ancient mansion nestled in the heart of the forest near her home. The familiarity of the place struck her, as it resembled the recurring setting of her dreams.

"This place is very familiar; it always appeared in my dreams," Venus remarked, her voice tinged with a sense of recognition.

"That was not a dream, it really happened," the stranger, now known as Adonis, responded solemnly.

Venus's curiosity peaked. "How did you know that? Tell me everything," she urged.

"It was your father who promised me that on your 18th birthday, you would be my wife and you'll spend your whole life with me," Adonis revealed.

Venus's eyes widened in disbelief. "Why did my dad promise that?"

"Because I saved you many times when you were still a kid," Adonis explained.

"No, it's impossible; I'd rather die that time than being tied to an evil monster," Venus retorted defiantly.

"YOU TREAT ME AS A MONSTER? THEN LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT A MONSTER CAN DO," Adonis erupted in anger, a side of him Venus had not witnessed before.

In a swift motion, he pushed her onto a bed, biting her neck and draining her blood. Venus succumbed to the shock, losing consciousness. As she awoke, Adonis declared, "I already marked you. That means, from today onwards, I am already your husband."

"I will only agree if you marry me in church," Venus insisted, determined to assert some control over her unforeseen destiny.

Adonis reluctantly agreed, and a clandestine wedding took place with only a priest and Venus's parents as witnesses. The newlyweds returned to Adonis's mansion, where Venus's parents remained silent, failing to offer any explanation for the bizarre events that had transpired.

At first, Venus resisted her new life, resenting Adonis for forcing her into a union she never desired. She discovered, however, that Adonis was not the monster she had initially perceived. While he avoided sunlight, a characteristic of vampires, he exhibited kindness and even a sense of humor.

Adonis, living alone in his mansion, took on the role of a caretaker, surprising Venus with his culinary skills and his willingness to serve her. Confused by this unexpected turn of events, Venus began questioning Adonis about his motives.

"Mr. Vampire, why did you choose me? I mean, there are a lot of girls in this world, but it's me whom you married," she inquired.

"My name is Adonis, not Mr. Vampire. I chose you because you are the reason why I reawakened," Adonis replied, his eyes reflecting a mixture of longing and gratitude.

"How?" Venus pressed for details.

"When you were a kid, you sneaked out and entered the forest. You reached my mansion. Your hand got wounded because you touched the glass where I'm lying. Your blood reawakened my body after a hundred years of sleeping. I brought you back to your house. Starting that day, I guided you," Adonis explained.

Venus, overwhelmed by this revelation, continued to seek answers. "How did my parents know you?"

"Do you really want to know?" Adonis inquired, leaning in with a seductive charm that Venus found impossible to resist.

She nodded, and Adonis's cold lips touched hers, unlocking a flood of memories. Two years ago, a near-fatal accident involving a van had been averted by Adonis, who had saved Venus's life. In gratitude, her parents had agreed to Adonis's request to marry her as a form of compensation.

Venus, grappling with this newfound knowledge, felt a mix of emotions. She confronted Adonis, questioning his decision to erase those memories.

"I just wanted you to enjoy your life before being tied to me. If you already know the deal, it will be harder for you to accept. Marrying a monster is not what you dreamed of," Adonis confessed.

"Adonis, I'm sorry for letting you feel that you're a monster. Now I realize that you're not a bad creature. Yes, we are different, but according to science, opposites attract," Venus declared.

"Do you already accept your fate?" Adonis inquired, his innocent smile returning.

"What can I do? Even our names show that we are destined for each other. In Greek mythology, Venus is the goddess of beauty, and Adonis was the only man she loved. I was meant to be with you. Whether I like it or not, I have to accept it," Venus conceded.

Adonis's promise of no regrets echoed in her ears, but their happiness was short-lived. One night, as the full moon cast its glow, Venus awoke to find Adonis leaving their room.

"Adonis, how can I help you?" she asked, concern etched across her face.

"I won't let you help me because the only way to reduce the pain is to suck your blood. Go away, Venus. I can no longer endure the temptation," Adonis pleaded.

Unwilling to see him suffer, Venus offered herself, a decision that led to her hospitalization. Adonis blamed himself for her condition, proposing freedom for Venus. Yet, she insisted on staying, determined to share the human experiences she cherished with him.

Their days became filled with shared adventures—trips to amusement parks, dates, and travels to different places. Venus introduced Adonis to the joys of being human, breaking the monotony of his solitary existence. Their love story became a testament to the power of understanding and acceptance.

One day, while dining at a restaurant, three girls

approached them, oblivious to Venus's presence.

"Handsome, can you also eat with us?" they asked Adonis.

"Hey, how can you say those words in front of his wife?" Venus intervened, proudly displaying her marriage ring.

"Wife? You're both too young to get married," one of the girls retorted.

"Miss, I think it's none of your business. This pretty lady is indeed my wife. So, I'm sorry, I can't join you for a meal," Adonis asserted.

The incident left Venus feeling protective, not jealous. Her best friend Audrey entered their lives, adding a new dynamic to their story. Audrey, surprised by Venus's sudden marriage, demanded an explanation.

"Husband? How can you forget to invite me to your wedding? Why did it happen so fast? I didn't even know that you have a boyfriend," Audrey exclaimed.

Venus attempted to reassure her friend, promising to share the details later. As they headed home, Venus's mother expressed joy at the development in her relationship with Adonis.

"Venus, I'm so happy that you've developed a strong connection with Adonis," her mother remarked.

Confused, Venus questioned her mother's approval. The revelation that followed painted a complex picture of their family's history. Generations ago, their ancestors had pledged loyalty to vampires as part of a pact, serving as protectors in exchange for treasure. However, the humans failed in their duty, leading to the demise of the vampires.

Venus's family, owning the land where Adonis's mansion stood, continued to honor the ancient pact, renewing their loyalty when they witnessed Adonis's existence. Her mother's account left Venus both sympathetic and burdened by the weight of history.

Curiosity led Venus to confide in Audrey, sharing the extraordinary details of her life. Audrey, skeptical at first, was convinced by the evidence Venus presented. The two friends devised a plan to introduce Adonis to the human experience by arranging a wine tasting event.

As Adonis sipped the wine, he experienced sudden pain, collapsing on the floor. Panicked, Venus reached out to Audrey for an explanation. To her horror, Audrey revealed her true intentions, orchestrating an elaborate trap involving vampire hunters.

Audrey, having betrayed Venus's trust, entered the mansion with the hunters, binding Venus and subjecting Adonis to torture. Venus, desperate to protect her husband, pleaded with the hunters.

"Don't hurt him. I beg for your mercy. He isn't bad; he never hurt anybody. So please release my husband," Venus implored.

But her pleas fell on deaf ears. Adonis, weakened by the potent substance in the wine, woke up, struggling against his restraints. Audrey, reveling in her betrayal, presented Venus with a grim choice.

"Since you married a monster, to show us how you regret, kill him or die with him," Audrey declared.

Venus, defiant and resolute, rejected Audrey's proposition. "He's not a monster; you are the one, Audrey. The thing that I won't regret is marrying him. And I'll also die with him."

The hunters, unmoved by her plea, tied Venus next to her weakened husband, preparing for a gruesome execution. As the first flames ignited, Venus kissed and embraced Adonis, their love transcending the impending tragedy.

"Venus, please, you don't need to sacrifice. I love you, so continue to live a life full of enjoyment," Adonis pleaded.

"My husband, I promised myself that I will always be with you wherever you go. No one and nothing can separate us, even death," Venus whispered, tears streaming down her face.

The hunters fueled the fire, and as the flames consumed them, the legend of Adonis and Venus spread throughout the city. Some believed in the supernatural tale of love and sacrifice, while others dismissed it as a fantastical story. Over time, the once-prominent tale faded into the annals of history, leaving only the echoes of a love that defied societal norms.

In the end, the story of Venus and Adonis became a poignant narrative of sacrifice, acceptance, and a love that endured even in the face of death. The tale challenged the boundaries of life and death, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who dared to believe in the extraordinary. And so, the love story of Venus and Adonis concluded, transcending the realms of the living and the departed, forever etched in the collective memory of those who heard their tale.
